Oh no! Some barbarian savages from Verdane have assaulted your boarders while your father was away. To make matters worse, they've conquered Jungby castle and have kidnapped your childhood friend Edean! Do you [[Ride out to meet them head on?]] [[Hole up and defend yourself]] [[Delegate the task to a subordinate]]

You ride out to meet them head on. Because your stats are amazing, you manage to easily repel the invasion, taking back Jungby castle and bringing the fight to them by taking Evans. The king is very pleased, his right hand man Alvis even shows up to give you a sword and informs you that you've been promoted to a Holy Knight. Your friend Eldigan shows up, concerned about your actions, but he’s a solid bro, so he has your back. Now that you have Evans do you, [[Charge forward]] [[Forget about Edain and just hold a defensive position]]

You hole up and defend yourself from those scary bandits. Eventually the main army returns from Isaach. They’re not happy with you. Not only did you fail to save the villagers and Edain, but Lex and Azelle, two young noble heirs were killed too when they came to try and help you. Your stripped of all your titles and disinherited. Oifey becomes the heir to Chalphy. To make matters worse, someone goes and murders the prince and then blames it on your father! Your father is killed, and soon after Dukes Reptor and Langbolt mysteriously die. Alvis becomes emperor after wedding the previously unknown daughter of Prince Kurth. You think this is all rather suspicious, but after your shameful actions in the battle against Verdane, there’s little you can do but watch as the world steadily grows worse and worse as the Empire of Grannvale slowly becomes the Lopt Empire once more. But hey, at least you’re alive. You bloody coward. [[Start<-Back to the Start]]

You like Alec because he has a turban, so you delegate the defense of the nation to him. Unfortunately, he’s not quite as good a commander as you. Some of your noble buddies, Azelle, Lex, Quan and Ethlyn show up but it still takes Alec some weeks to repel the invasion. A lot of villages got burned down so moral in your lands is pretty low. He does manage to eventually take Evans castle though. But by that time your father's back in town and taking charge. You mind Chalphy while Byron acts bad ass. Byron has to face the combined might of Verdane and Agustria who has joined the bandit nation for some reason. While Byron's away, Prince Kurth gets murdered. Things aren't looking great. You're father is also apperantly killed in battle, though there are mutterings of assassination. Reptor and Langbolt finally arrive west and completely beat back Verdane and Agustria, putting both nations firmly under the thumb of Grannvale. Then, they somehow manage to get themselves killed on the return journey too. It's an epidemic of Dukes getting murdered! Looks like it was wise of you to delegate important stuff to other people. Alvis finds himself a fetchcing new wife who happens to be Kurth's long lost daughter. He declares himself Emperor of the new Grann Empire. Things seem good at first, but then they slowly get worse and worse. You try to launch a rebellion after you're ordered to go on some child hunts, but you really don't have the man power to accomplish much of anything. Edain might be safe, but those savages broke a peace treaty. You need to get to the bottom of things! You proceed onwards and capture Marpha castle. Adean is safe and that's all you really care about. Verdane is still a threat, but you've given them such a trough trouncing they won't be pushing back any time soon. But people are less pleased you just abandoned the war with Verdane when you were clearly winning. You rescue the fair maiden. She’s very appreciative and gives you the eyes. But then she runs away. A convenient nearby villager informs you she’s called Deirdre, she’s from the spirit forest and that a great disaster will befall the world if she ever gets laid. To you, that sounds like a challenge! You head deeper into Verdane. Along the way you recruit Jamke, the only handsome looking guy on the Verdane royal family tree. You also stumble upon that that girl Deirdre again. She warns you about a dark mage guy in the castle ahead. She’s still giving you the eyes, this girl definitely likes you. She even says she’ll go with you to help fight the evil priest dude. But wait, what about the warning that villager gave? You rush to Lachesis's aid and save her (and because we assume you're good at this game, you save her bodyguard too and do it all quickly enough to get the bargain ring). Agustria seems to be in chaos. There are bandits attacking everywhere. Do you [[Try to clean this mess up by conquering half of Agustria]] [[Let Agustria burn itself down and go home]]

You conquer half of Agustria and almost kill king Chagall when your bro Eldigan turns up looking for an explanation. He’s not happy with you. Also you recruit Levin who’s actually a super important character. Eldigan and Chagall retreat north. You try to restore order with the intention of returning control of southern Agustria to it’s rightful ruler, but Grannvale doesn’t seem on board with that idea. After six months Chagall decides he’s not on board with Grannvale and launches a counter attack. Deirdre wants to help you in the coming battles. Eventually you go to court in Belhalla and the king recognizes Deirdre as his grand daughter! So you're suddenly second in line to be king! Wow, how lucky banging that random forest girl turned out to be. Manfroy tries to convince Alvis to steal your wife, but Alvis, while thinking she's hot, respects your boundaries. Langbolt and Reptor are also suddenly too blindsided by this royal princess showing up, they don't even have time to assassinate Prince Kurth. Looks like you win feudal politics forever, so long as you stay vigilinat for assassins, and all because you were willing to let your best friend rot in a dungeon and leave a bunch of filthy peasents to die. Which is true, but you didn't mean anything by it.] (set: $DeirdreKidnapped = 1) On the good side, you found Briggid, the missing heir of Jungby. Claud the Duke of Edda and Tailtyu, Reptor's daughter have also shown up. Claud used magic to tell you about the two other Duke's sinister intentions, but it didn't really make a lick of difference. All hope seems lost when suddenly an envoy from Sileese appears offering you sanctuary. Sileese is another kingdom entirely, why do they trust your innocence? You accept the accusations of colluding with your father to seize the throne, determined to get a good lawyer to represent you and fairly analyze the matter. But the proverbial Phoenix Wright is nowhere to be found, Reptor and Langbolt declare you a traitor and toss you in a dungeon with your father.(if: $DeirdreDead is 1)[At least you killed that one Lopt blood maiden you found, so it's not like the world will be destroyed or anything just because you die. Only, Alvis eventually marries his side chick Aida and has a baby girl with her, whom Manfroy eventually steals and sixteen years later marries her to the unknown Saias. Manfroy calls his new godchild Galle. Galle can’t be presented as the legitmate heir due to the circumstances of his birth, so Manfroy and the Lopt Sect raise him as a rebel. Armed with the tome of Loptous, he begins his own rebellion against the Reptor controlled empire, which Manfroy has been weakening for decades. Loptyr returns and there's no one there to stop him. Though, at least Langbolt was nice enough to let you stay alive in a cell with your father to witness all of this.](Else:)[While you're in jail, Alvis finds Deirdre and marries her. Reptor, Langbolt and Alvis eventually get each other killed trying to control the kingdom from each other, with no one expecting the harmless little heir Julius of being trouble until it's too late. But hey, at least you're alive in a cell to witness all this. Who knows, maybe you escape at some point and put things right. But that's way to speculative to explore in the scope of this project.] [[Start<-Back to the Start]]

You flee to Sileese. While there you meet Queen Rahna and discover Levin is her son, though there’s some family stuff going on there that has nothing to do with you. There’s also a bit of a civil war that does have something to do with you as Grannvale gets slightly involved, mostly just to spite you. You help Queen Rahna win but feel pretty sure Grannvale is going to invade soon if you hang around in Sileese much longer. Do you [[Go on the offensive against Grannvale]] [[Stay in Sileese]]

You reject the offer of the envoy and try to escape the approaching forces of Grannvale on your own. Unfortunately, you’re headed off by Duke Andre as you head east. You find yourself surrounded on all sides and are killed by Reptor’s men. [[Start<-Back to the Start]]

You go on the offensive. While battling Grannvale you find your father who for some bizarre reason Langbolt decided to keep alive long enough for him to give you the divine sword Tyrfing. Feeling super extra awesome, you solo the rest of the chapter. You get word that your bro Quan and your sister Ethlyn died fighting Thracians in the desert, which really sucks. Not much you could have done about it though. As you approach Barhara you get a sinking feeling in your stomach. (if: $SeliphBorn is 1)[ (if: $SeliphLost is not 1)[ (if: $ShannanDead is not 1)[You send Oifey and Prince Shannan to Isaach with Seliph and some other children.]]] Duke Alvis has been neutral in this conflict according to all the information you could source. You assume that means he’s your enemy. But in the midst of battle, his general Aida turns on Reptor. You win, hooray! Aida says Alvis believed in your innocence all along and invites you to come to return to the capital to have a parade in your honour. There’s some talk of a barbeque afterwards too. [[Take Alvis up on his offer]] [[It’s too good to be true, murder Aida!]]

Eventually the armies of Grannvale invade Silesse. You try to fight them off, but they quickly sieze the capital with a well-planned strategy. Having Tyfing with you would have been useful, but alas, it was with your father whom you now believe to be dead. You and Queen Rahna retreat to Thove castle in the north. Using the hostile terrain, you manage to hold off the Gran army indefinitely. You hear word of the Lopt Empire gaining power and influence as the entire Munster District falls under their control. Reports of child hunts and mass starvation reach you, but fenced into a choke point in the very north, there’s not much you can do. (if: $SeliphLost is 1)[You have your beloved wife Deirdre by your side, but your son is still missing unfortunately.] (elseif: $DeirdreKidnapped is 1)[You have your promising young son Seliph by your side, but your wife is still missing unfortunately.]You live out the rest of your days freezing your balls off while the Lopt Empire gains more influence and control. They raise him as a member of the sect and make him and Tyrfing a valuable weapon for their empire. (if: $DeirdreKidnapped is 0)[Alvis and Deirdre don't get married though.]] (elseif: $ShannanDead is 1) [Unfortunately because there was no one to escort him to Isaach, your son was taken to Barhara. There he falls into the hands of the lopt sect. They raise him as a member of the sect and make him and Tyrfing a valuable weapon for their empire.] (else:)[Seliph was taken to Isaach by prince Shannan to find shelter. You can only hope he will become the light of the future that will save the world (actually you know he will be because you followed basically the exact path of the game, how boring of you).]] (if: $DeirdreDead is 1) [Alvis has united the land under one banner and declares himself Lord Protector of the Realm. The lopt sect try to manipulate him into making Jugdral into an evil empire, but because he doesn’t have a wife and son, he’s not so distracted and catches on to their game. Unfortunately Alvis dies without an heir and the entire continent erupts into civil war. The two largest factions rally behind Alvis’s bastard son Cyas, and Linoan, duchess of Tara who is an indirect descendent of Heim. The history books record Alvis’s rein as a prosperous one despite the chaos that followed and Sigurd is mostly forgotten about, being a minor footnote, his reputation forever stained as a rebel.] (if: $DeirdreHeartBroken is 1) [Just before he kills you. You murder your king and declare yourself emperor of all of Jugdral. (if: $DeirdreKidnapped is 1)[You try to take Deirdre (who you find to be Alvis’s widow) back as your wife, but she’s rather terrified by the person you’ve become.] (elseif: $SeliphLost is 1) [You still have your beloved wife Deirdre by your side, but your son is nowhere to be seen.] You decide the Lopt Sect is to blame. You redouble your efforts to find them, tripling the discrimination laws. It becomes your sole mission in life. Eventually you find them and wipe them out(if: $SeliphLost is 1) [, but Seliph is never found]. Bloom and Dannan try to launch a rebellion against you from occupied Isaach, but you swiftly put an end to both of them. With all opposition gone, Sigurd is finally alive and safe. And it only took him being wildly out of character to achieve it. [[Start<-Back to the Start]]

You throw yourself on the king’s mercy. He has you arrested and thrown in prison. On the suggestion of someone looking a lot like Manfroy, he has you executed. (if: $DeirdreDead is 1)[In lieu of anyone else, Claud, the only Duke still alive, becomes lord protector of the realm (he is forgiven for partaking in Sigurd’s rebellion by claiming he was just a staff bot). Claud takes Lionan, the duchess of Tara as his wife. Losing his last piece of lopt blood with the death of Alvis, Manfroy commits suicide and the lopt sect splinters into several sub groups which eventually fade away. Claud’s rein doesn’t go too smoothly. He tries to return self-governance back to Verdane, Agustria and Isaach. Fifteen years later, Manfroy kidnaps two of Claud and Deirdre’s children and forces them to commit incest. Manfroy calls his new godchild Galle. Galle can’t be presented as the legitmate heir due to the circumstances of his birth, so Manfroy and the Lopt Sect raise him as a rebel. Armed with the tome of Loptous, he begins his own rebellion against Claud’s empire. A rebellion that ends up much bloodier and terrible than Sigurd’s, which becomes a minor footnote in history.] [[Start<-Back to the Start]]

You stay defending from Chagall's attacks in a stalemate. Eventually Reptor shows up, initally it looks like he's there to reinforce you, but when you're alone he seizes you and takes command of your army. You are charged with treason and executed, but at least all your soldiers survive and aren't branded as traitors, though they now work for Reptor who is busy trying to finally defeat Chagall and Eldigan. You return to Belhalla to investigate the matter. Unfortunately you never even get to see the king and demand an explanation. Reptor has you arrested before you can even reach the gates of the capital. You are tossed into a cell with your father and left to rot there.. But in your absence Eldigan managed to reconquer Agustria, which convinced Chagall to chill out and change his attitude towards his best asset. So at least Eldigan gets a happy ending. Agustria's problems are Agustria's problems. Sure, you're tight with Eldigan, but it's his sister, not yours. Unfortunately the Agustrian Lord Elliot doesn't believe in your neutrality and is eager to snap up your conquered Verdane territory. "You'll never take me alive!" you cry as you stick Arden on Chalphy's ramparts to defend you. Then you leave Arden where he is, Sortie, and just kill all the soldiers yourself. But now you're in a pickle, as you've killed offical messengers from the king. Of course you're father has been falsely arrested, so it's not like you had a choice. Only thing you can do now is fight your way to Belhalla and get to the bottom of this. So, basically, Chapter 5 only with the Endgame Map. Except, you only have half your army since you abandoned the canon path and went home before even recruiting Lewyn. And Byron isn't there to give you Tyrfing since Langbolt naturally still has him at the Sileese border area. So needless to say, with no holy weapon and only half your army, getting past Mjolnir and Helswath is pretty much impossible, and even if you do, Alvis just roasts you at the end. Elliot can have your Verdane territory. Dealing with Chapter 2's back tracking is just too much trouble. So you return to Chalphy(if: $HookedUpWithDeirdre is 1)[ and introduce everyone to your new wife. Eventually you go to court in Belhalla and the king recognizes Deirdre as his grand daughter! So you're suddenly second in line to be king! Wow, how lucky banging that random forest girl turned out to be. Manfroy tries to convince Alvis to steal your wife, but Alvis, while thinking she's hot, respects your boundaries. Langbolt and Reptor are also suddenly too blindsided by this royal princess showing up, they don't even have time to assassinate Prince Kurth. Looks like you win feudal politics forever, so long as you stay vigilinat for assassins, and all because you were willing to let your best friend rot in a dungeon and leave a bunch of filthy peasents to die.
