Fish Training Camp

The fish finally plays Mortal Wombat with you. You win this round. The next round the fish doesn't get any better. You should have talked more about videogames and inspire some gaming spirit into it. You wonder if [[training it even more->You're bored enough to try this out.]] would make it the best fish player in the world. Or not. Your mom looks at your disappointed face and sits on the couch. She asks if she can play with you. You play together like you haven't played in a long time. You're having fun, so you want to savor it before you go back to training the fish.

The fish is really smart and knows a lot about videogames but you'll never know if it could beat you, because it doesn't know how to play. You should have taken it oustside more. Showed it some combos on the joystick. If only you could [[go back in time ->You're bored enough to try this out.]], you would have done things diferently. Or not. Your mom looks at your disappointed face and sits on the couch. She asks if she can play with you. You play together like you haven't played in a long time. You're having fun so you want to savor it before you go back to training the fish.

The fish is awesome. It plays so well you lose in the second round. The next week you and your mom take it to a competition. Of course the fish wins and everybody is surprised. Some kid yells "How could you lose to a fish?" to another. The fish is invited to the official Mortal Wombat circuit in Korea. You and your mom watch its victory on the TV and remember all the good moments you've had. The fish sends you gifts on Steamy sometimes. You and your mom keep playing together. Maybe someday you will get to train another fish. Who knows?

You ask her to play with you. She says she already played with you today and you should go do something else besides playing games. How could she say something like that even though she makes games? Anyway, she suggest you [[feed the fish]].

You go to your room and play by yourself for a while but you get more bored than you could ever imagine. You go back to the living room and you're so bored you decide to do some chores. You start by taking some glasses and plates to the kitchen sink. Then you [[feed the fish]].

You've had this fish for some weeks now. Your mom thought giving you a fish would teach you to be responsible and do more chores. But a fish isn't as fun as a dog or a cat or even a hamster. If only you could [[do something different]] with this fish.

Well, you need another player to play with and the fish needs a purpose. You should train the fish so it can play games with you. You know all about games and all about playing. Maybe the fish will even manage to beat you. Who knows? You're only a nine year old girl, you have nothing else to do. [[You're bored enough to try this out.]]

So you start your FISH TRAINING CAMP. You'll take this noob fish and make him the best player in the world in only 4 weeks. Your mom will be impressed and the kids at school would very much like to sit with you and you cool gamer fish at lunch. You [[TRAIN YOUR FISH]].

(set: $fisics = 0) (set: $games = 0) Your fish is ready for its first week of training. It wiggles a little inside the aquarium. God, this fish is going to be such a pro! [[Train it]] [[Tell it all about games ]]

(set: $fisics to it + 1) You teach it how to breathe. You breathe multiple times in front of the aquarium and encourage it to do the same. It looks like it's getting it because some moments later the fish tries to jump out of the aquarium a couple times. You have recurring nightmares in which your fish is mean to people playing online games. You should teach it more about the gaming community. [[Train it some more->WEEK 2]]

(set: $games to it + 1) You tell it all about games. The games you like (Fighting games like Mortal Wombat, Marvel vs Cars, Dragon Spheres FighterX, Taken 3) and the games you don't like (honestly the only games you don't like are the Cause of Duty franchise). You tell it about how a long time ago your mom used to play a lot with you but now she doesn't have time. You sleep that week dreaming that one day the fish can play with you like your mom did. A new week has started. You fish look a little smarter, but it's not even close to what you want to achieve. [[Take it out for a walk->EX2]] [[Show it some Youtube videos->GM2]]

(set: $fisics to it + 1) You carry the aquarium to the back of your building. You show it how to properly move a leg. Not that it has legs, but it has it's fishtail, it's not impossible. The fish seems to be practising inside the aquarium, because it takes some steps there. That week you have nightmares about the fish getting bigger than your building and stepping on you and your mom's apartment. You should teach it how to talk so you can avoid this kind of misunderstanding. [[Keep training->WEEK 3]]

(set: $games to it + 1) You show it some Youtube videos of your favorite Let's Players and game reviewers. It doesn't seem to care a lot but you know deep inside the fish is paying a lot of attention. And you do too because that's what you do for most of your vacation time, since you don't have anyone to play with. This week you dream about your fish discussing game plots with you. The fish is mostly wrong but at least it's trying its best. [[Keep training->WEEK 3]]

Your fish is getting better everyday. The people at your building look at your fish and wish they could have a smart fish like that. But they can't, they have only their smart TVs. You think this is a good business opportunity but you wouldn't sell your fish. Your mom seems to notice you've been spending a lot of time with the fish. She asks you if you want to play videogames. You play for a while and you tell her about you fish training camp. She asks if she might join you for some fish training times. You don't answer. [[Teach it how to hold a joystick->EX3]] [[Teach it some form of communication->GM3]]

(set: $fisics to it + 1) You tell your fish it's time for it to learn how to use a joystick. You're not much of a PC gamer so you are not going to use a keyboard. Also the keyboard would't fit the aquarium, but the joystick would. So you throw it inside the water and the fish takes a while to get used to it. You start with the basics, which buttons jump and which ones attack. How to walk and how to use a special move. The fish is still scared by the joystick but at night, while you're dreaming, you swear you hear some noises coming from the living room television. [[Don't give up and keep training->WEEK 4]]

(set: $games to it + 1) You tell the fish all about the things you learn at school, but it doesn't seem to answer. So you ask your mom how she managed to teach you how to speak. She proceeds to show you a series of pictures of you as a baby, and of all the buildings you have lived in. She tells you she would always talk to you about the games she was working on, and speak to you like you already knew how to answer. And then, one day, you said your first word. It was "play". You proceed to talk to the fish some more. Your mom talks to the fish too. You sleep thinking that this training camp is less fishy than anyone would expect. [[Do not give up training->WEEK 4]]

This is your last week of vacation. You've got to give it all you got to the FISH TRAINING CAMP initiative. Your mom wakes you everyday at seven. You walk the fish together. You talk about the new games that you bought. The fish looks excited, as well as the both of you. [[One last videogame tip ->EX4]] [[Talk to the fish ->GM4]]

(set: $fisics to it + 1) You teach the fish your favorite secret combo in Mortal Wombat. The fish doesn't seem to care but you know it heard. It's always hearing. So the fish wiggles a little more in the aquarium. Your mom tells you it's okay if at first you don't succeed. You believe her but you still have really high hopes. [[The time has come ->WEEK 5]]

(set: $games to it + 1) This time you can sustain a conversation. Sort of. Half of the conversation are bubbles and the rest are indecipherable patterns the fish presses onto the joystick. Here they are. The final results. You and your mom gather on Saturday night to finally see how well your fish can now play videogames. You can't stop wiggling your hands in excitement. It's Sunday afternoon and you've never been so bored. Your mom is reading a book by the couch and she doesn't look like she's in the mood for playing videogames with you. Even though you asked her multiple times. Lately she has been studying a lot because of her job. You should stop pestering her and go play by yourself, but you don't find it as enjoyable as with another player. [[Call her again]] [[Play by yourself]]
