Eidolon Station - The Game

You wake up, sore and partially covered in dust and debris. The last thing you remember is sneaking into Zone 5 to see the new flash reactors with Dee...oh god... "Dee? [[Dee!|Context]]" you call into your communicator.

At first all you hear is static. Then...faintly... "I'm here! Hello? Can you hear me?" "Dee - I can hear you. What the hell happened?" "I...I think we got flashed. But something's wrong. This isn't our timeline." "Ah, hell..." You look around, thinking about what Dee just said. They're right - the station has been destroyed, and looks long deserted. "Do you know where you are?" "I'm in Zone 5, near the command center. If I can get the map up, I can guide you in." "Okay. Stay on the communicator. [[I'm on my way|Step 1]]."

You stand and dust yourself off. As you look around, you notice a light flickering off to your right. You close your eyes, placing yourself back in the real Eidolon Station. That way is the kitchen. You take a few steps toward it, listening closely. When you hear nothing, you slip quietly down the hallway and peek in. The rations cabinet is hanging off its hinges, but you spot a couple of cans lingering at the bottom. You [[take them|Step 3]] with you.

You slam the door behind you, and hear the seals lock into place. Dee is still working on the flash reactor, and you hand over your extras that you've found. The two of you are quiet as you finish your work. Suddenly, a bright blue-green glow illuminated the control room. Dee turns to you, pulls you into a kiss. "Just in case this thing fries us. Let's go [[home|credits]]."

The Ukevrox is just faster. You slide on the slippery panel and hope, as it hovers over you, that Dee makes it back [[home|credits]].

"It's not working," Dee says, as the Ukevrox continues to throw itself at the door. "Shit - it looks like there's a piece missing." "Oh no," you whisper, remembering the flash of green that came from the hall as you ran by. "I think the battery is back in Zone 4." The two of you listen to the screeching of the alien outside. Stuck in here with a broken reactor and little to no rations, you wonder how long you'll make it, or if you'll ever get [[home|credits]].

You grab the two cans, and a packet of ration cookies that you spot lurking in the back of the cupboard. As you are putting them in your slingpack, Dee's voice comes through your communicator again. "Okay...I made it," Dee says. "Just so you know, the stairs are fucked. Right...the map's up, and I can see you. If you head out of the third door, you'll be headed in my direction." You sigh, happy that Dee is coming in a lot clearer than before. You head to door three and [[start running]].

You take a few deep breaths, and start running down the hallway. You can spot something disturbing along the walls. "Uh...Dee," you breathe, not daring to raise your voice any louder. "Can you see any...any cold spots on the map." "About twenty around the zone. Wait...they're moving...oh no." That's what you were afraid of - Uevrox. You pull up your guidebook hologram and [[look them up|GuidebookUkevrox]]. "Keep your voice low, and lock the door until I holler." "Roger that. Okay, to can take the next right or the next left - both are completely clear." You slow down and look in both directions. [[Right|Step 5]] will take you through the odd numbered Zones to Zone 5. [[Left|Step 7]] will take you through the even numbered Zones. It's about the same length, with the same numbers of stairs and hallways. You trust your gut.

You're glad you wore your lightweight shoes, because you're not making a lot of noise at the moment. "How you doing?" Dee asks. "Just fine." "There's a flash reactor in here, but it's broken. If you spot any spare tools or parts, try to bring them -" "Shhh," you hiss into the communicator. You've just heard something. You [[slip|Step 9]] down the hallway to your left. You [[hide|Step 13]] in a small alcove.

You run down the hallway toward the left and make your way through Zone 4. Dee is whispering into the communicator, guiding you through the darkness. "You're coming up on a fork," Dee says. "Take the right hallway." You slow down as you come up to the hallways. The one on the right looks like it's been through ten different hells. The one on the left is glowing gently - you can even see to the end of the hallway. "Dee...are you sure it's the one on the right?" you ask. "Positive. Move your ass!" You [[follow Dee's directions|Step 11]] and head to the right. You [[go for the light|Step 8]] to the left.

The hallway is cold. You can feel the heat sensors in your jacket warming up in response. You creep down the hallway, keeping your back to the wall. Your eyes have adjusted to the dark now, and you can see a bit in the gloom. You spot a small silver part a ways in front of you, and you dart forward to grab it. You [[scan|ItemStabilizer]] the cylinder and keep walking. You've made it to Zone 3. You can see the bridge coming up, and you slow to a walk to listen. You don't hear anything. "Dee? I'm good. Heading across the bridge." "Good. Hustle, I'm seeing cold dots moving in Zone 5, so they're behind you." You don't need telling twice. You head to the [[bridge]].

You scream, caught in a burning, stinging web. The Uevrox drops from above to land straight in front of you, spitting venom. "What's wrong?" are the last words you hear before the Uevrox takes its first bite.... Hopefully Dee gets [[home|credits]].

You dash through the room and out into the hallway. You are about to turn toward the hallway to Zone 5, when you spot something on the upper deck. You can't see very well in the gloom, but there seems to be something glowing softly near the entrance to the seminar room. [[Climb the stairs]] and investigate. [[Keep moving]]

You trek up the long, metal staircase. The blue glow is a little stronger up here, and you're glad it's not an Uevrox. It's a [[battery|itembattery]]. You snatch it up, and throw it into your slingpack before heading back down the stairs. You run down the hallway that leads to [[Zone 5]].

"Hell no," you mutter to yourself. You're not going toward the bright shiny thing like a moth. For all you know, it's a sleeping Uevrox. You pause halfway to the stairs, attention caught by the sizzling noise to your left. Uevrox venom is dripping off one of the chairs. You spot it just as Dee yells, "[[RUN!|Ending 3]]"

Feeling pretty secure, you decide to check in with Dee." "How's it going up there?" you ask. "Great. I've found some tools, and I've managed to get some things going. I can see you without the map now." "I'm still moving. I'm bringing you a few things." "Great...aw shit. Uevrox on your left! Move!" You [[roll]] and dodge the ambushing alien.

You hear the Uevrox shriek as you sprint away. You jump down into the common area and dash through it toward the door. You can hear the Uevrox behind you, catching up. The door is close, but so is a stair case. Go [[up]] and pray the Uevrox can't follow you. Go [[through the door]] and hope you can slam it fast enough.

You make it to the stairs and climb as fast as you can. You realize, halfway up, that some of the computers are coming loose from the walls. You reach out and rip the system from its alcove, dropping it onto the Uevrox's head. There's another shriek, but the rattling of the ladder has stopped as you continue to climb. You look down when you make it to the top, and see that the alien has been impaled on the bottom pole of the computer. You check the desk for anything that might be useful and find a [[universal dial|InventoryUD]]. You tuck it into your pack. "Hey you," Dee says, sounding relieved. "Run through the top door, and you'll be in the [[command center|Ending 1]]. Hurry! There's another one coming!"

You dash toward the door, sliding through it and trying to slam the door behind you. But the Uevrox manages to make it partially into the door. You jump back before it spits at you. You run again, but it's [[too late|Ending 2]].

You can now see the end of the hallway, and you think you can make it to the command center if you run. "This way is better lit, and it leads to the supply room. I can -" "No, go back! That section isn't even showing up on the grid. You could be running into a Uevrox nest!" "I can...Aaaaaaah!" you yell, tripping over something. You go stumbling, and [[Dee's words come true|Step 13]].

"Okay, I'm in." "This is just the bridge to Zone 4," Dee says. "You need to cross and go through the next door. "Got it. I'm...." You trail off, spotting something on the ground floor below. "Hey? Are you okay? What's up?" "I'm fine. I think I just spotted an equipment kit. I can climb down and get it." "I don't know," Dee says. "There are a couple of Uevroxes headed your way. I don't know if you have time." [[Cross the Bridge]] [[Climb down to the ground floor]]

"You're right. I'm on my way," you say, breaking into a jog again. That jog turns into a run as you spot an Uevrox crawling through a hole in the ceiling. It drops down behind you, and you speed up as much as you can. Your ear stings as a spurt of venom flies by you. It misses, but lands on the bridge. The bridge isn't what it once was - it breaks, dropping you to the ground floor. You hit your head, and dizzily stumble away from the Uevrox. You manage to run, holding down the bile in your throat, [[but it's no use|Ending 2]].

"I'll be quick," you promise, sliding down the vertical staircase. You run over and grab the package, [[scanning it|ItemKit]]. You hear a shriek from above, and rip into the package. You grab a shock disc just as the Uevrox drops down to the ground. Now, technically this shock disc is past its due date...but it's all you got. You prime it, toss it, and [[pray it works|Step 14]].

The Uevrox goes up like a lightning show, and you don't stop to celebrate. You stuff the rest of the package into your jacket, and rush to the ladder across the room. You climb up, and head into [[Zone 4]].

This time, you don't need Dee to tell you where you are. You climb the staircase up to the [[Communication Center]].
