Painting is a way of capturing the beauty and sadness of life, L'arte è Bellezza. Although you have been a painter for a few years, you are not well known yet in your small Italian town. A life goal of yours is for people to be encapsulated by your work. When you paint, you become so focused on your work that you give very little focus to the outside world. While this makes you a bit of recluse, you feel so enthralled with painting you don't feel a need for socialization.

There may be colorful blue, orange, and red tapestries hung on the walls with intricate patterns. Candelabras will be strewn throughout the apartment. When lit, the light will bounce off of the walls, illuminating the tapestries and creating this breathtaking painting you are about to create.

You snap back to reality. That’s it, the subject of your painting will be a flower. But that draws the question of what flower.
“It’s too hot in here to think”, you mutter to yourself as you walk over to the window. Unlatching the window, a small breeze drys the sweat droplets forming on your forehead. Looking out the window, you see the beautiful pink flowers of a (link: "Oleander")[small shrub in Italy that is poisonous to people and animals that blooms in the summer].
[[Start painting the Olender]]
In all your years as a painter, you have never painted your wife, who is deeply in love with you. When you brought up the idea of painting her, she said, “Of course, I’ve been waiting for you to ask me”.
Now, you are sitting at your easel, priming the canvas with white paint. As you paint, your eyes can’t help but drift to look at your wife sitting in a chair, posing for you. She is young, and you want this painting to capture her youthfulness. Her golden hair hangs elegantly off of her shoulders, her full cheeks have a soft pink glow, and her plump lips are cherry colored.
It’s only been a few hours, or so you think. “Can I move?” she asks. Without glancing up, you say, “No, I promise I’m almost done. This painting has to be perfect.”
[[The painting is perfect, it looks just like you!]]
You snap back to reality. “It’s too hot in here to think”, you mutter to yourself as you walk over to your pitcher and pour yourself a cup of water. That’s it; the subject of your painting will be a glass of water.
Now, you are sitting at your easel, priming the canvas with white paint. As you paint, your eyes can’t help but drift to the glass of water. The hand-blown cup shines in the light and reflects its blue and green coloring across your walls, creating a rainbow.
It’s only been a few hours, or so you think. Getting out of your chair, you quickly stretch before sitting back down and continuing to paint.
Before you know it, you are done.
[[Admire your painting]]
“I can’t believe it; it looks exactly like you. You're going to feel like you're looking in a mirror”.
Silence
“Are you mad I made you wait?”

Taking your eyes off of the painting, you finally gaze at your wife.
You hear “AHHHHHHHhhhh” leave your lips. You feel like you are outside your body right now.
Your beloved young wife is...(after:15s)[dead!]To get the best view of this magnificent flower, you position your easel in front of the open window. Priming the canvas with white paint, your eyes can’t help but drift to the blooming flowers. You want to perfectly encapsulate the beauty of this shrub and begin meticulously painting every detail.
As the sun begins to set, so does the temperature; you get up and close the window. Time has passed so quickly. How long have you been painting for?
You keep painting and painting until you take a step back and say, “Perfect”.
