(set: $peopleEliminated to 0)You stand barefoot at the bottom of a long-dry well. You're cold and surrounded by others like you. They stare at the dirt floor and shuffle around mindlessly. You see a small collection of them against one of the walls, staring up.
[[Follow their gaze]]You look up to see a few people climbing up the wall to the sickly yellow light at the well's opening.
(link: "Keep Watching")[One of the climbers kicks another, forcing them to fall. The climb doesn't look too bad, but the people are ruthless.
You realize that there's only one way out of the well, and that's up. You have to [[climb]].]
You push through the group and see some protruding stones and begin the climb.
(link: "A few minutes later...")[Another climber catches up to you.
(link: "Okay")[Suddenly, the man swings his arm out and hits your shoulder! You're knocked off balance but manage to hold on. You think of your next move...

]You fail miserably, landing on your back at the bottom of the well.
[[Restart|Title Screen]]You strike back, managing to knock the man's arm from the wall.

]You continue climbing. A climber is directly above you.

[[Try to speak to him]]Near the top, a woman leaps onto your back.

[[Elbow her in the gut]]
[[Ignore her and climb|Continue to the top]]You grab the man's ankle and pull. He falls to the bottom of the well.

[[Keep Climbing|Climb2]] You manage to get a few words out, startling the man. He kicks your head and staggers you.
[[Let go|Die]]You lose your grip.
[[Let go|Die]]You knock her to the bottom of the well.

[[Continue to the top]]Soon enough you make it to the surface!
(if: $peopleEliminated is 0)[The world is a cold place. Soon enough you realize the world outside isn't much different than the well. You go back to shuffling around with no real purpose.

(if: $peopleEliminated is 1)[The world isn't what you expected. It's nice and all, but it's only marginally better than the well. Sure, some listen to your story, but history does not remember your name.
You're almost successful.]
(if: $peopleEliminated is 2)[The world is much better than the well. You make your story heard and become famous for overcoming all odds. The people know your name, but there's more to be desired...
