Operation: Rondevu Copy

Set up - While flying back to your home base during an alien invasion to defend it from an incoming raid your 2 man team were shot down during a storm which casued interference on the pilots rader. Your mission is to still return to home base, however a secondary alien base threat has emerged... --- Narration - Spinning out of control, the helicopter plunges nose first into the soil and finally rests as it falls over to its side just outside the unidentified alien base. <a href="https://postimages.org/" target="_blank"><img src="https://i.postimg.cc/cHJtwvDX/chinook-crash.jpg" alt="chinook-crash"/></a> Liam - Pilot is dead. we need to hurry, the aliens are likely to send a scout team to investigate the crash for any survivours. Dave: [[We need to hide, last thing we should do is draw attention to ourselves.]] [[What about the pilots body.]]

Liam - Thankfully the pilot warned us about the situation so we could prepare for impact. Dave - He'll be remembered, lets go. --- Narration - Moments after the team hide themselves in nearby foliage the crackle of compressed plasma and air being rushed away is heard from a distance as an alien ground vehicle makes its way to the downed helicopter. Two tall, slim figures exit the machine, one of them drags the pilots body out onto the soil and the other holds a mysterious device in their hands. <a href="https://postimages.org/" target="_blank"><img src="https://i.postimg.cc/fTjHwYjS/Alien-figure.jpg" alt="Alien-figure"/></a> Liam - I've never seen one of them this close before, they have a similar body structure to us, just more sophisticated, just shows they've been in this universe for a very long time. Dave - Makes me want to get out of here even more, what are they doing with his body. Narration - As the first alien figure finishes laying the pilots body down the second figure aims the device at the corpse. Vibrating the air around it the device charges up and releases a beam which disintergrates the pilot, leaving a blue floating substance of biomass. The first alien figure returns placing half of the mass in a storage container and the other half into a port on the alien ground vehicle. As this happens the plasma emitting from underneath it glows brighter as it powers up. <a href="https://postimages.org/" target="_blank"><img src="https://i.postimg.cc/PrdN03s0/blue-power.jpg" alt="blue-power"/></a> Liam - This is worse than i thought...back on the helicopter i said they might be here for the Earths resources but it looks like they're here for us too. Whatever they done just boosted the power of their vehicle, as if they used the matter from the pilots body to recharge their devices. Dave: [[They only used some of it, what could the rest be for.]] [[Space is a big place, who knows how many other races they've done this to.]]

Liam - I know it sounds harsh but the best thing to do is just leave it, if they see the helicopter empty they'll probably sound the alarms making this whole situation even worse. Liam - Probably to power their weapons, maybe even to maintain their own bodies. Looks like they're leaving, i'll have a quick peak at their base with my binoculars after its clear. Dave - This is some freaky stuff. --- Narration - A couple minutes after the aliens leave, both Dave and Liam emerge from the bushes to get a grip of the siutation. Liam pulls out his binoculars to scout the unidentifed alien base that the alien figures drove off to, what he sees shocks him. Liam - This is bad...really bad. This isnt just a normal base, its an artillery station. If my calculations are right they're aiming directly at our home base. i can see the blue matter powering the weapon too, thats probably what they saved the other half for. We need to disable that weapon Dave. Dave - Theres no way we can do that, this isn't us against other humans, we don't know what they're capable of. We need to relay this information to home base. Liam - We can't do that Dave. If the aliens have any idea that we've sent a signal to base about taking out the weapon they'll probably launch the attack before the raid starts. They're probably monitoring all the radio signals in this area. We need to disable the weapon before it's fully charged. I know its something we've never done before but its the only hope we have to save the people back at base. Dave: [[You're right, its just a confidence thing, you never know what the unknown can bring.]] [[If we're gonna do this we need a plan.]]

Liam - Honestly its hard to imagine, unfortunately we're still stuck in this small pocket of space we call the solar system. There are countless things this alien race could be gettng up to which we don't even know about. Dave - Guess theres some things we'll never find out, looks like they're leaving. --- Narration - A couple minutes after the aliens leave, both Dave and Liam emerge from the bushes to get a grip of the siutation. Liam pulls out his binoculars to scout the unidentifed alien base that the alien figures drove off too, what he sees shocks him. Liam - This is bad...really bad. This isnt just a normal base, its an artillery station. Liam - Best option is stealth if we get caught that'll probably be the end of our hold on this section of land. Guns probably ain't a good idea. Dave - Alright, lets stick together. --- Narration - Making thier way up to the alien base, both Dave and Liam are able to get a real sense of the scale of this weapon as it cuts through the sky, towering everything else around it as it emits a blue outer glow. <a href="https://postimages.org/" target="_blank"><img src="https://i.postimg.cc/VsHfKbbM/alien-tower.jpg" alt="alien-tower"/></a> Liam - Doesn't seem to be many lifeforms here, most of them have probably left to be in the raid force against our home base Dave - I guess that makes our job a little easier. Narration - As Liam scans the area again he finds out that there are two optimal paths they can take to reach the artillery cannon. Liam - Looks like we can either cut through the back or past through their underground sewer system. Both of them are gonna have their own risks but more options are better than none, whats the call. Dave: [[Lets cut through the back and make our way around, many of their guards seem to be focused at the front of the facility.]] [[Sewers seems to be a good route. Just need to watch out for any unwelcomed surprises in a place like that.]]

Narration - Making their way through the depths of the alien base the team find themselves walking in a near pitch black environment. Many unsual sounds can be heard around them. Liam spots something in the corner of his eye. <a href="https://postimages.org/" target="_blank"><img src="https://i.postimg.cc/KjKR07Gq/sewers.jpg" alt="sewers"/></a> Liam - Looks like these aliens brought some of their rodents with them, i think it likes you Dave maybe you should keep it as a pet. Dave: [[Haha very funny.]] [[Who knows what kind of things its been eating down here.]]

Narration - After reaching a higher level the team is able to get a better view of whats going on in the manufacturing area. A collecting of plants and dead animals can be seen from a far being prepared to be converted to fuel the newly built vehicles. <a href="https://postimages.org/" target="_blank"><img src="https://i.postimg.cc/nzJ2bzjG/animal-and-plant.jpg" alt="animal-and-plant"/></a> Liam - Poor animals, they have nothing to do with this war. Dave - After we've taken out the artillery cannon and defended our base we can come back and deal with these monsters. --- Liam - I have an idea. The artillery station is probably gonna be heavily guarded so we're gonna need a distraction that will be heard throughout the base to draw them here. This decoy device should be able to help us with that, i'll leave it here and activate it once we reach the final position. Dave - Nice thinking, escape window is right ahead. Narration - Just a few meters away from the artillery weapon Liam and Dave hide behind a wall preparing for the decoy distraction. As the decoy goes off causing a loud sreaking sound it gives Dave and Liam the opportunity to enter the artillery station as the rest of the aliens make their way to see whats casuing the problem. Once inside the team finds out that the pathway to the core of the weapon is filled with lazers that will trigger the alarm system. <a href="https://postimages.org/" target="_blank"><img src="https://i.postimg.cc/mrQqFK7V/laser.jpg" alt="laser"/></a> Liam - We have to figure this out fast, its only a matter of time before they come back. Narration - As Dave and Liam make their way to the artillery cannon crouching through the facility the team makes it to a vehicle manufacturing plant where the same ground vehicles from before are being produced. Here the same two alien figures can be seen working further inside building while another alien figure blocks an entrance to progress to the artillery weapon. <a href="https://postimages.org/" target="_blank"><img src="https://i.postimg.cc/Kj7dSw8R/alien-plant.jpg" alt="alien-plant"/></a> Liam - Lucky for those two we ain't going gun-ho on them, if that was the case they would be died already for what they done to our pilot...anyways we need to find a way to get past this other guy, artillery cannon is so close. Dave: [[rock tactic, the enemy never expects it, especially when they're so focused. When he moves we head around him.]] [[Theres a ladder around in that corner. When he turns around we can make our way over and exit through the window.]]

Narration - As Dave and Liam have abit of laugh the strange creature suddenly jumps at Liam, grabbing onto his chest. Dave quickly pulls out his knife and cuts down the creature, stomping on it just to make sure its dead. <a href="https://postimages.org/" target="_blank"><img src="https://i.postimg.cc/02PNMqmX/creature-eyes.jpg" alt="creature-eyes"/></a> Liam - Wow, that was a close call. Dave - Welp, there goes my pet. --- Liam - The artillery station looks to be just up head, im gonna leave a sound decoy here so when we're ready we can activate it and draw the aliens gurading the building to this position. Dave - Smart idea, lets good. Narration - Just a few meters away from the artillery weapon Liam and Dave hide behind a wall preparing for the decoy distraction. As the decoy goes off causing a loud sreaking sound it gives Dave and Liam the opportunity to enter the artillery station as the rest of the aliens make their way to see whats casuing the problem. Narration - The entrance door to the artillery core quickly closes, Liam pushes Dave in the final seconds allowing him to make it through, however, Liam has been left on the other side. Liam - Things haven't gone to plan, but we still need to finish this mission, the peoples lives at home base are more important than mine. Dave: [[I'm sorry, its all my fault.]] [[There has to be another way.]]

Narration - After successfully making thier way pass the lazer beams both Dave and Liam make it through to the core of the artillery cannon. Liam - We made it, lets finish this and get back to base, we can escape through the back. Dave - This has been a long journey, looking forward to raiding more alien bases with you. Narration - Liam uses an EMP device to disable the electronics of the artillery cannon while Dave slices all the containers of the blue biomass before burning all the stock making the substance useless for any operation.
