Welcome to Odyssey! Hello $name! I am your narrator, Helios. This game has been designed to test your character and I wish you the best of luck. In order to play and progress through the game, choose the blue text.
Be warned, for if you make the wrong choice, it will have adverse effects on your future.
[[Begin your journey]]
Let's set the scene, shall we? You live with your mother and sister just outside the city of Nexus Heights. The outskirts have always been desolate but it's what you called home for 22 years. The nobodies lived out here while the elites live inside the walls. People have been falling sick and dying for years because the right resources aren't available to heal people out here. But, whatever was going around has now infected your sister, Sophie. What are you going to do?
[[Ask your neighbors for help]]
[[Find a way inside the wall]]
[[Stay with you sister and figure out a way to heal her]]You go door to door begging your neighbors for medicine or any home remedies they know of that can help.
[[They don't have any western medicine so you go back empty handed]]
[[Take their ayurvedic medicine book and make treatments for your sister]]
When your mother hears your plan to go inside the wall to steal medicine, she gets angry because that's exactly how your dad abandoned his family. She also warns you about the dangers of getting caught as an outsider by their guards and how they'll never see you again if you're caught. You tell her that it's the only way to help Sophia and tell her that you'll be back as soon as you find the right drugs that can heal her. You despise him as much as she does but you've got to do whatever it takes to help.
[[Search through your dad's belongings to see how he made it inside]]
[[Listen your mom warnings about the dangers beyond the wall and stay]]
You realize that there is no cure for Sophie's illness after her symptoms worsen and try to find a different way to get her help but at this point 3 days have passed. You only have one choice at this point because her condition is now critical and have to go to your neighbors for help.
[[Ask your neighbors for help]] The treatments help alleviate the symptoms but it's clear that it's a temporary solution. You do everything you can to keep her comfortable but she passes away after 1 week.
The End
(Hint : You can still go back and choose another path)You tell your mother that it's the only way to help Sophia and tell her that you'll be back as soon as you find the right drugs that can heal her. You despise him as much as she does but you've got to do whatever it takes to help. She shows you a box of all of his dusty journals that she's never looked in before and tells you that she'll take care of your sister while you're gone.
[[Read the journals]]You realize that it's dangerous to be caught crossing the wall and your mom would end up losing both her daughters so you decide to stay and figure out how to keep her alive.
[[Ask your neighbors for help]] The journals have all the information on your dad(Octavius)'s intent to leave his family and his schematics for getting past the wall into Nexus Heights. There is something in there that shocks you. Octavius's dad(Valerian) is the sovereign leader of the people inside! Octavius was banished from the city when he confronted his dad about being the illegitimate child of a concubine who was given nothing after being impregnated. The whole situation throws you off because he left when you were still in your mother's womb. He basically turned into what he despised. You're angry at him but try to see the bigger picture of getting medicine for your sister.
[[Case the wall for a few days before trying to go past it]]
[[Wing it and take Octavius' journal with wall schematics and pack a bag]]Because you couldn't find medicine to heal her, your sister passes away in a week.
The End
(Hint : You can still go back and choose another path)You took too long to case the wall and it's too late to help Sophie. She is now on her death bed and all you can do is make her feel comfortable. She passes away.
The End
(Hint : You can still go back and choose another path)You have two options.
[[Route 1 : This path will take you over the top of the wall using a grappling hook gun that you bought under the radar from a black market dealer you're friends with.]]
[[Route 2 : You try to enter the wall through a piece of the wall that's under renovation.]]You make it through safely with just a few bumps and bruises. It's just past sunset and you spend an hour or two hiding in an alley observing the clothing that everyone's wearing and a signifying burn mark that people have on their wrist. Something else you notice is an ad for something called an Urban Hub at a bus stand and you're shocked because you see your dad at the center of it. You realize that YOUR DAD IS THE SOVEREIGN LEADER OF NEXUS HEIGHTS! You're completely taken aback. This is what he left our family for. Family! Sophie! You still need to save her, there's not much time left.
Under the cover of night, you slip out and pick the lock of the nearest clinic and try to find the right vaccine to help your sister. Unfortunately, the clinic only has pain meds. You look up the vaccine in the clinic's database and see that it's available at the Urban Hub which is at the center of the city. You won't be able to get there with patrols in the streets so you realize that you need to go during the day. In order to blend in when you're out in the sun, you'll need the same burn.
[[Use the cautery that you found in the back room of the clinic and burn 3 interlocked triangles into your wrist]]
[[You think that you can just cover your wrist, steal clothes from a random passerby, and make it to the Urban Hub, and remove the need for a burn alltogether]]You're caught, because the patrols frequent this section of the wall the most and you didn't account for that in your haste. You're taken to jail to live out the rest of your days and your sister dies.
The End
(Hint : You can still go back and choose another path)You try to soothe your skin with a numbing agent you found in one of the drawers and it takes the edge off the pain when you start drawing into your skin. It's still extremely painful and you let out a few screams and hope that no one hears you.
ps.please don't do this in real life
[[You're caught by a patrolling officer]]A patrol suspects you to be an outsider because people don't traditionally cover their mark and asks to show yours. You try to fight them off and fail. You are jailed and your sister dies.
The End
(Hint : You can still go back and choose another path)[[You try to fight him off]]
[[You don't fight him off]]You're in a lot of pain and so you slip up and get caught. You go to jail and your sister dies.
The End
(Hint : You can still go back and choose another path)
You try to explain your situation in a hurry when the officer questions you and you break down in tears. They're moved by your story and your journey to save your sister. They never knew what life was like outside the walls and are willing to help you and let you stay at their place for shelter overnight. The next day, they help get you through security and you breathe a sigh of relief as you enter the elevator. According to the directory in the lobby, the medical floor is on floor 8. You couldn't help notice that your dad's office was on floor 10. You now have two choices.
[[Press floor 8 and get the vaccine for your sister]]
[[Press floor 10 and confront your father]]
You don't even bother confronting your father. He was never around to be considered a father. You push floor 8 without hesitation. You and the officer steal the vaccine and get it back to your sister in time. She gets better! You break the news about Octavius being the sovereign leader to your family afterwards. Sophie is already plotting revenge. You're too happy to even be thinking about him right now. You're just glad that she's okay now.
The End... or is it?
You walk past the secretary on floor 10 and barge into Octavius' office. You ask him why he left his family behind. It's been 22 years. He hasn't looked back even once. You made a mistake in thinking that he would even care. He doesn't even know you because he left before you were born. You even tell him about Sophie's infection. He asks you, "Who do you think released the virus in the outskirts?" He's turned into a monster with no morals. He's not the same man your mother fell for. You're dragged out of the Urban Hub and headed straight to jail. The patrolling officer can't do anything to help you now. Your sister lives for a few more days and passes away.
The End
