Narrator: We find ourselves in a lush forest called the Widow’s Wail
in Evenfall. Local legends say once you enter the Widow’s Wail, you
will be trapped, bound to wander aimlessly for centuries. Its
strong, and loud winds that sound eerily like screams or wails earned
its name. Yet the forest was quiet. It was as if the Weeping Forest
was devoid of life, its winds didn’t carry any familiar songs, not
even the chatter of birds. Beyond the hollow and tall trees was stark
darkness even when the sun was high in the sky. The only sound that
escaped were the footsteps of our adventurers traversing on the main
road. Hearing a sudden crunch under your boots, you examine to see a
broken mirror. You peer into it seeing your reflection.
What is your class?
[[warlock]]
[[knight]] (set: $class to "wizard")
Narrator: You are a wise $class accompanied with the brave knight.
You recently earned your own robe and hat from the Wizardry School of
Evenfall.

You were knighted recently before the king and his court.
[[Choose your weapon ->Weapon Choice]]Narrator: What is your choice of weapon? Choose wisely and according to your class:
(A) Magic Scepter, (B) Magic Stone, (C) Sword, (D) Axe

mana.
(if: $class is "knight")[Odd choice for a Knight but let's move on.]
[[Proceed ->Dialogue One]] Narrator: You have chosen a fine, steel sword freshly forged for you
this week.
(if: $class is "wizard")[Odd choice for a $class but let's move on.]
[[Proceed ->Dialogue One]] Narrator: You have chosen a fine, steel sword freshly forged for you
this week.
[[Proceed ->Dialogue One]]
(if: $class is "wizard")[Odd choice for a $class but let's move on.]So, why are we here in the rocky woods where we can lose our lives?
Narrator: Your mission is to Slay the.........Princess.
Narrator: Both The Wizard and Knight stop walking with spoiled
expressions.
Narrator: Your quest is almost unheard of for an adventeur even for a
veteran.
[[(A) Do you question the narrator ->Dialogue One, Choice One]] [[(B) Comply with the narrator->Dialogue One, Choice Two]]
Is that a joke, the knight asks incredulously
Narrator: It is not a jest, it is the objective of this mission
We are the heroes. We are supposed to save her, not slay her says the Wizard
Narrator: You must, for the fate of the realm
Narrator: Did you wish to proceed with the quest?
[[Yes->Dialogue One, Choice Two]]/[[No]]The Wizard and Knight exchange looks and proceed with the questScrew the realm says the $class
The stubborn $class turns around in a huff and slams into a concrete wall. Sporting a bright red bruise, you step back to stare dumbly at your obstacle. Surely now you will listen and proceed with the quest.
[[Proceed ->Dialogue One, Choice Two]] Narrator: The Wizard and Knight exchange looks and proceed with the quest.
Narrator: It is the dead of night when our adventurers make it out of
the Widow’s Wail to...
[[EVENFALL’S SHORELINE.->EVENFALL'S SHORELINE]]
Narrator: As our hero’s reach the pier, they see a figure near a
boat. The figure is draped in a tattered black cloth and its hands
are gangly and stained with a curious red. Of what, our heroes don’t
know, only that the creature’s eyes unnerve them. An unnatural color,
a toxic green and menacing glow.
Narrator: Should I suggest looking around in the sand? I’m at the
beck of your call after all.
I suggest you put a sock in it.
It’s not a menacing creature in nature. Roll the dice.
Narrator: The dice appears and spins and reveals the number 12.
Narrator: An odd, misshapen golden key emerges from the sand and the
wizard picks it up, The Knight believes it is odd but chooses to not
utter a word.
The creature gently grabs the key and the duo get
inside the boat safely.
Exiting their short ride, they see the...
[[EVENFALL TOWER->EVENFALL TOWER]]Narrator: Finally, our hero’s reach our destination, the princess's
lair. The tower lies before them. The tower’s stone wall crumbles
slightly. Vines encase the tower and cover the wooden door.
I feel a presence, a horrifying and evil one
[[Go in the back->Dialogue Three,Choice One]] [[Try the door->Dialogue Three,Choice Two]]
I suggest go in the back, for our safety
I still don’t agree with this but sure
Narrator: After circling the tower and clearing some vines, you find a secret entrance. Inside is a dark hallway. In the corner of the hero's eyes is a purple glow.
When they enter the room, floating bodies are tubes unmoving and almost unreasonably melancholy.
Are you sure there is only one presence here? This has to be a mistake, only the most villainous could concoct this machinery. What kind of princess would do this?
The princess is no angel alright.
Narrator: On the ground, the wizard finds a cracked potion.
an entrancement potion..
Narrator: Suddenly, the duo hear laughing.
The princess. I have an idea.
The foolish knight comes to his senses, nods his head.
Narrator: Crying can be heard as the knight climbs the winding stairs, shaking slightly. Presumably the princess beyond the door. The knight opens the door slightly
Prince?
The knight steels his nerves and clears his throat.
I’m no Prince, your grace. I’m the knight of Evenfall.
Why are you here
To save you of course
You lie, Ser. You mean to kill me.
Narrator: The knight’s blood runs cold
Excuse me?
I never thought someone would be so stupid but you alone believe you kill me.
Narrator: He also almost rushes there and faces her but he has to follow through with the plan.
Let me see your face
Narrator: Obliging, the knight enters the door to see the princess standing in chains in a dilapidated room. She wore an expression that did suit her comely face.
It’s as stupid as I thought.
Narrator: The knight SCREAMS ‘NOW’ and the wizard comes out the shadows and shouts a beam at the princess.
When she is hit with the beam, she glares and twitches as she transforms into a beast, breaking her chains in the process. Now a large and withered crone.
Quickly the knight runs toward the false “princess” and unsheathes for the final blow, revealing their weapon that plunges into her.
As the weapon pierces into her stomach, she wails into the night and disintegrates in the sky, and fades away, like a speck of dust. As if she was never there, or was she? Our heroes will never know for sure. Peace is restored to Evenfall.
END
Narrator: You walk up to the tower’s door and pull. No matter how many times you pull on the door, the door refuses to yield.
