It's finally here. You've been counting down the days in your personal planner, until you could mark off the date with little pink hearts you drew around it. It wasn't just any date in your calendar, but it was an actual //date//.
It's really a miracle it happened. There was this really cute guy at your work, Ben. When you were a new-hire, he was the one assigned to you to help show you the ropes. It wasn't difficult - counting money and sorting office supplies is all there is to an entry level position - but you still had a good time with him regardless. You saw him working there a few times before applying, and he always was shy and timid. You never saw him for long before he made himself disappear to the back aisles.
He was the same way during the beginning of your training, but...somewhere along the way you noticed a few subtle differences. He smiled with his teeth. His eyes weren't as downcast as usual. You managed to make him giggle a little with a well timed remark at a rude customer. Even a few other co-workers commented that they'd never seen him talk so much!
Thus, you became work-buddies. Even still, neither of you could take your eyes off each other. You always caught yourself checking the aisles to see where he was working, jumping at the chance to help him with tasks, and swapping around shifts so you could work with him. Whenever you weren't gushing over him, you caught him doing the same. You were the only one he willingly spoke to. His cheeks were a little pinker whenever you were around.
To you, he was endlessly alluring. He was fairly tall, if you had to guess just under six feet. He has shaggy brown hair, which you noticed has a tendency to hide his face. Underneath the hair lies a pair of gray eyes, though they sometimes looked blue or green. He has full cheeks and plump pink lips. When he smiles, you saw his front teeth were a little larger than the rest. His entire face is very round, and his double chin seems close to merging with his neck.
Physically, he's a pretty big guy. He has a slight waddle to his walk and his lumbering steps make him heard before he's seen walking up and down the aisles. He has thick pillowy arms, with even thicker thighs that have to be chafing his ill-fitting pants. His chest is full with two ample moobs that are starting to rest on his belly, by far the largest part of him. It doesn't jutt out that far, but it hangs pretty low over his waistband. He seems to be around 350 pounds. Though selfishly, you hope that the number's higher than that. Since you've been paying such close attention, you've noticed his work uniform has gotten quite a bit snugger on him...
However, good looks aside, the poor guy was painfully shy. He still kept up your nice conversations, laughed at your jokes, and kept sticking around you. However, as soon as the slightest hint of a romantic undercurrent surfaced, he would get tongue tied and excuse himself to the bathroom.
Eventually, it became clear to you that he was too afraid to make the first move. You couldn't think of a reason why, other than his reserved personality. So last week, you asked him out. It was unprompted, while you were stacking boxes side by side, and he nearly dropped the box of staplers he was carrying. He stuttered in confusion for a few moments. You initially took his hesitation as rejection, but he soon found his tongue and enthusiastically agreed. Though he seemed embarrassed by his short outburst, he couldn't stop the smile spreading across his face and giddy excitement you could just feel radiating from him.
Your egg-timer broke you from your thoughts. You were making a simple french toast for a small breakfast, since you were meeting with your date for brunch. While eating you remember something - you had forgotten to plan what you were going to wear! You scarf down your plate and dash to the closet, tossing clothes around, trying to put something together.
<<set $favor = 10>>
[[After making your bedroom look like a warzone...]]After what felt like hours (but was really fifteen minutes) you put together three outfits, and now currently deliberating over which one to change into. For what felt like tens of clothing items you had in your closet, only a select few felt wearable today. Strange how that happens.
Your immediate thought was to put together something nice and snazzy. Something to really make you stand out and draw in your date's eye. You came up with a tidy, freshly ironed white button up, which would be layered under a crisp black blazer with deep red fringes and buttons. To match, you found some black slacks and deep red shoes. To finish the look, you picked a simple, but elegent gold chain necklace. The outfit is the first thing you think of when you picture "romantic first date"!
Though having just one option never satisfied you. Maybe another perspective could offer something better? The second outfit you pieced together was one of your normal outfits, just a little spiffier. It's a very pale yellow long sleeve under a soft brown sweater vest. For bottoms, you selected light blue jeans with embroidered flowers on the pockets, and your trusty pair of tennis shoes drew everything together. This look feels more like yourself on any average day, and you hope it's enough for a special occaison like this as well!
However, looking at your two choices, you realized neither included anything that was distinctly "you". So you dug in your closet and pulled out and outfit that fortold everything about you at a glance. An oversized graphic tee of your favorite band, and baggy cargo pants with patches you stitched on yourself. The only appropriate shoes for an outfit like this would be the sandals you hand-painted from a local arts workshop. Not a very cohesive outfit, but if it's representative of you, no one has a simple or easy to grasp personality, do they?
With your options layed out in front of you, you decide to go with...
[[The elegant and professional blazer and slacks.]]
[[The cute and academic sweater vest and jeans.]]
[[The unique and creative band tee and cargo pants.]]As you get yourself all gussied up, you can almost feel yourself changing. The blazer and slacks combination is leaving you feeling simply divine. Your confidence shoots up as even your walking around the room is screaming arisocratic elegance. The gold chain simply seals the deal, and you truly do look like a million bucks. The glitz and glamor has never been your style, but...perhaps a change up is in order for an occaison like this!
You stride out the door and slide into your car, making good time on the drive over to the pastry.

[[Excellent. |Arriving to shop]]When putting on your outfit, you normally would feel ordinary. Considering you're wearing one of your ordinary outfits, the feeling of giddiness feels especially noticable. Perhaps because your feelings are entirely towards the impending date and the excitement of being with the cutie that's caught your eye isn't impeeded upon by your outfit. You're a ball of excited energy as you scamper off towards the front door.
You hop in the car and you're awash with the heightened feelings of puppy love.

[[Aww. |Arriving to shop]]You pull on your band tee and pull up your cargo pants. Apparently, the elastic on them has worn a fair bit and you suddenly need a belt. Noticing the time, you scramble and strap the first belt you can find on to yourself. It's a garrishly bright pink belt one of your old friends got you as a joke gift...but you know what? GAUDY IS IN!
You toe on your sandals and head out the door, and make the drive over to the pastry shop.

[[Rad. |Arriving to shop]]You park the car and step out onto the pavement, double checking the store in front of you is indeed the right one. As you start to walk over, the shutting of a car door grabs your attention.
Just a couple spots down, it seems another car had pulled in right after you. The door swings open, and after just a bit of struggling, a man comes out. Tall, shaggy brown hair, and deliciously plump?
It's your date.
He lumbers out of the carpark, and comes up onto the sidewalk. As he turns his head to look for something - that something being you - you have half the mind to walk over and meet him there.
He's dressed very plainly. He's in a plan cobalt blue tee shirt, a pair of khaki shorts, white socks, and a pair of black sneakers. The walk seems to have tuckered him out just slightly, as he's panting a little. To be fair to him, it's also pretty hot out.
You come up next to him, and he finally regards you. His eyes widen almost in surprise, like he wasn't expecting you to arrive.
"Oh! Uh- Hey!" He stammers, struggling to meet your gaze, "It's, um- It's really good- er, great! Yeah, great to see you again..!"
He then looks down to get a proper look at you...
<<if def $wearingBlazer>>
Seeing you in your uppity and fine looking clothes, it didn't exactly have the effect you were hoping for. He almost seemed to be even more nervous, and took a step back from you. He looked down at his own, comparitavely, far too casual outfit and sighed softly. Before you could shoot him a questioning look, he stepped to the side and pulled open the door to the shop for you.
"A-After you..." He mumbled. It was a surpringly gentelmanly gesuture. You graciously accepted and the soft chime of the bell was the only sound as he shut the door quietly behind you.
[[Now, where to sit? |Sitting down]]
<</if>>
<<if def $wearingSweater>>
A warm smiled graced his features, before morphing into a soft gasp. A strong rose tint dusted across his face as his mouth hung open in a small "O" shape. He blinks a few times before sheepishly shaking his head. He already seems utterly charmed. You give him a playful wink, and his blush intensifies as he mumbles something along the lines of you being exceptionally easy on the eyes...albeit, far less eloquently than that.
You let out a small giggle at him, and gesture towards the door of the pastry shop. It takes a moment for him to catch on, but he gets the hint and not only heads towards the door, but politely opens it for you. He gives you as big of a smile as he can manage as he looks at you in wonder. He follows you inside, and seems content to let you pick where to be seated.
[[Oh, he's already whipped. |Sitting down]]
<</if>>
<<if def $wearingTee>>
His gaze sweeps over you, taking in the sight of you. His eyes widen slightly, and a look a visible confusion comes to his face. But as quickly as it came, it went, and a small smile plays at his lips.
"It's nice that you have your own style," He says, before hastily tacking on, "I mean that, well, um...you'd be easy to spot in a crowd is all. No one like you."
That was quite sweet of him to say. You say your thanks, and compliment him back. He shies a little at the kind words, maybe even a little unused to them?
Regardless, you take the initiative to move the date along, and pull open the door. You gesture for him to go inside, and a flicker of surprise comes on his face. "Oh! Um, thanks," He says, as he makes his way inside. You quietly ignore the fact you had to open the door wider for him to fit through than you originally guessed.
[[There only looks to be one table open. How convienient! |Sitting down]]
<</if>>Stepping inside, you're already charmed by the look of this place. It's a bit small, but cozy. Everything is painted in soft, inviting pastel colors. Mostly of pinks, blues, and whites with splashes of other colors here and there. It seems this time of day is quite busy, at least comparitavely for a small busniess. Each of the small, diner-esque tables and booths are all occupied by patrons - except for one. It's a two-person booth next to window that's catching the sunlight in just the right way.
However, your date seems a tad nervous. His eyes keep shifting across the room, as if worried any of the two dozen people in the room would suddenly call out to him.
Passing by the counter, you can see why he enjoys coming here, though. The pastries are all looking delicious. All look enticing, even more tempting than any other sweet delights you would find at the grocery store. Notably, most are positively drenched in frosting, glaze, sprinkles, chocolate chips, or some combination of any of the confections!
You finally reach the booth, and slide into the side of the booth facing the pastries, both to take a glance on what might be on the menu, but also to bare the brunt of the social pressures your date is likely facing, based off his lips being drawn into a more nervous smile than usual.
You date shuffles to the other side of the booth, and attempts to slide into the booth. He drops onto the edge of the plush cushion, letting out a small grunt. He has to carefully move across the booth, his protruding belly just brushing against the table, and his thighs spreading out to take up a little more than half of the booth. You admire the way his entire body jiggles as he moves, and the way his cheeks flush just a little redder from the effort of the movement.
Once he's settled, you shift your gaze from his soft, doughy body up to his face. The sunlight filtering through the window bathes him in a flattering golden shimmer. His brown hair changes to appear more as a strawberry blonde, amber streaks appearing perfectly blended in. His gray eyes sparkle, now almost looking like an ice blue color.
You politely clear your throat to draw him into a conversation. He seems a little embarrassed at his silence, but now speaks up.
"Hey, um...I just really wanted to thank you for coming. I, uh..." He trails off, but you give him a an encouraging nod to continue. He takes in a breath and continues speaking.
"...This is the first date I've been on...ever?" He thinks for a moment. "Yeah...I've never asked anyone out, but...you're the first who's asked me." He shies away a little. "...So...this is all new for me..."
You're about to respond, but you just catch him muttering something under his breath.
"...Honestly, I'm surprised you were serious..."
You quickly assure him that you are serious. At first, he seems surprised that you picked up on what he said, then his shoulders relax and you can tell he's less keyed up.
"I...thank you, [Y/N], for giving me a chance..."
You smile at him, before replying:
"It's no problem at all..."
Wait, what was his name again? Ugh, this is the worst time to have a brain fart!
[[Ben |Right Name]]
[[Blake |Wrong Name]]
[[Beau |Wrong Name]]
[[Benji |Wrong Name]]
[[Bry |Wrong Name]]Ben bashfully looks down at his lap, though his plump lips curve into a sweet smile and a giggle slips out from them.
"Really, this means so much to me..." He says, and you can practically see the poor boy's heart pumping out of his chest. Before he can mumble anything else out, a waitress comes by your table, and takes a notepad out of her apron.

[[Looks like it's time to order up! |Order drinks]]He frowns slightly, looking away from you.
"Uh...it's actually Ben..."
It's impossible not to notice the slight hurt in his voice. You're about to apologize, but a waitress approaches your table, and she clicks her pen in anticipation.

[[Hopefully you can recover! |Order drinks]]The waitress is dressed similarly to the two other waitresses, albeit with her name badge bedazzled with sparkly stickers, and a light pink headscarf framing her face.
"Hello, my name Lilya, and I'll be taking care of you today!" She says cheerfully, already jotting down the table number. "What drinks can I start you two off with?"
Ben suddenly clams up, and looks nervously over to you. You nod patiently, happy to take the lead for him.
"I think I'll go with..."
[[Water |Other drink]]
[[Pink Lemonade |Other drink]]
[[Sweet Iced Tea |Sweet Tea]]Lilya nods, and writes down your drink of choice. She then turns towards Ben. "And what can I get for you?"
Ben stumbles over his words just a little, but manages to speak up. "May I please have a sweet iced tea? Extra peach syrup if you can, please!" He says, getting a little excited.
Lilya again nods. "I'll let the drink mixer know. I'll be back with those drinks as soon as I can! Be ready to order." Lilya then turns away to head back into the employee's only area.
[[You've always wondered what goes on back there... |Talk1]]Ben's gaze finds yours and he smiles at you brightly. Lilya then turns towards him, writing your order as she speaks.
"Excellent, and do you have a drink in mind?"
Ben nods enthusiastically. "Yeah, I'll be having the same, thanks!"
Lilya smiles brightly as she finishes scribbling down your drink order. "You're welcome! I'll head off and get your orders ready!" She turns away, clasping her notepad close and soon turns the door to the kitchens open.
Over the noise of the door shutting, Ben speaks to you unprompted.
"Sweet tea is my favorite!" He begins, soon getting lost in the though of the drink. "The peach ones, the default here, are my favorite. Reminds me of home." He says, and on that last scentence you catch a wisp of an accent that you've heard only once in the Georgian countryside.
He continues, "I'm so glad I've found someone else that appreciates a good, simple sweet tea." He says, now feeling a little bashful. Perhaps because he's connecting with you over tea of all things.
<<set $favor = $favor + 1>>
[[Still cute though. |Talk1]]You soon settle into some idle chatter with Ben. You learn more about his job, how he's been there for a while and soon getting a raise.
"Honestly, I'm just looking forward to longer breaks sittin the breakroom. Only one that has AC," He chuckles lightly, looking to the side and fiddling with his wrists.
He's so gosh darned cute.
However, he soon clears his throat and excuses himself. He turns to the side and shuffles out of the booth. You catch the way he subtly has to pull the back of his pants up over his backside.
"Sorry, hah..." He says, looking around the cafe. "Got to, ah...use the bathroom. Be back soon." He walks (waddles?) off to the far back of the pastry shop. You simply sit by and watch the clouds go by at the window.
Though soon, you're broken from your thoughts (damn, you were so close to figuring out the shape of that one cloud!) by the sound of footsteps. You excitedly look over, expecting Ben, but it's actually Lilya, both of your drinks in hand. She places them on the table and smiles at you.
"Here you are! Please enjoy," She says, before taking her notepad from her apron and flipping to a new page. "Can I take your order, or do you need a few minutes to decide?"
Well, this is awkward. Ben's still not here...what to do?
[[Wait for Ben to come back.]]
[[Order for the both of you.]]Well, Ben's not here. Not like he could order for himself when he's not at the table.
Plus, you imagine it would hurt his feelings if you went on and ordered for yourself to eat without him.
You smile politely at Lilya, "Thank you, but I think we'll need a few more minutes."
Lilya nods, and spots another couple coming in. She busily writes down another table number and starts to walk off. "Alright then, I'll be back in a bit!"
You go back to watching the clouds go by. You see a dog, a cowboy hat, more than a few hearts. Maybe that's a sign?
Whatever the case, you hear footsteps coming by again. These ones sound much heavier than Lilya's. This time, it is Ben.
He again plops heavily down onto the booth, squeezes himself back in, and he immediately reaches for his glass of tea. He gulps down more than half of the glass, seemingly to back the energy he exherted.
He looks down bashfully, and shies away from his moment of greed.
"Sorry it took a while..." He began, "A little harder to fit into the stall than I remember..."
You reassure him that you had no trouble at all waiting. As he sips down the rest of his tea, he talks to you about his tea preferences more, while also looking at the menu.
You tell him then that this is your first time at the pastry shop, and he gasps softly. "Never? This is only the best bakery in town!" He exclaims.
He then spends the next couple minutes guiding you through the menu, albeit often going on tangents about any pastry item that catches his eye.
Just as he finishes walking you through the desserts, Lilya comes back around.
"Ready to order?" She asks, already marking down a refill for Ben's drink.
You barely finished a quarter of yours.
"Yeah, we are!" Ben enthuses, before sheepishly lowering his volume. "I'll have a Tri-Donut Box special, two of them with chocolate frosting and raspberry filling, and the other with vanilla frosting and orange filling, please," He states, before worrying his lip. He then decides to tack on, "...and maybe a maple bar, too."
Lilya diligently writes down his order. "No problem at all," She says, before turning towards you, "And what can I get you?"
<<set $favor = $favor + 1>>
[[What to order for yourself? |Order food]]Ben loves this place, and you can vaguely recall some of the pastries he had told you about in the past. What's the harm in picking one of those?
Knowing him, he'll probably like whatever you pick. Plus, it's so cute to be having the same thing!
"Yeah, I think I'll order for the both of us."
Lilya nods, and clicks her pen. "What can I do you for?"
It's then that Ben approaches the table, looking none too pleased. He's frowning and looks hurt that you didn't wait for him.
He sighs and says simply, "I'll just have three donuts, please. You can surprise me with the frosting and filling," Though it sounds more like he's too upset to put too much thought into it. He takes his sweet tea in hand and starts sucking it down, looking away from you.
Lilya eyes you suspiciously, but still keeps a cheerful smile on her face, now if a bit strained, "And what would you like?" She asks, turning to you.

[[Now, what to pick? |Order food]]This place is new to you, so you have to take an extra glance at the menu.
Of all the delicious pasrties on the menu, you decide to go with...
[[Lemon Sponge Cake]]
[[Chocolate Mousse]]
[[Strawberry-Banana Parfait]]
[[Honey Glazed Croissant]]Following Ben's lead, citrus sounds pretty appetizing right about now.
You see Ben giving you a smile at your choice.
Lilya marks down your order and unclicks her pen. "Excellent, it'll be out shortly!"
[[Time to fill the time... |Talk2]]You can never go wrong with chocolate. It's wonderful and delicious! And what better than to get a mousse full of it?
Ben grins bashfully. Perhaps he has a weakness to chocolate?
Still, Lilya jots down your order. "Great! I'll be back with it soon!"
[[Now it's time to hurry up and wait... |Talk2]]The parfait catches your eye. Greek yogurt has always been one of your favorite creamy delights.
Ben nods approvingly at your choice.
Lilya smiles, preemptively flipping to the next page of her notepad to serve the next few customers. "You got it! Your sweets will be here shortly!"
[[Welp, now it's time to wait. |Talk2]]Ben's eyes sparkle, and you think you can even catch him licking his lips, probably thinking of the croissants you just ordered.
He looks sheepish, but before Lilya can turn away, he embarrassedly raised his hand.
"Excuse me, but...may I also add one two of those croissants too?" He asks, again salivating.
Lilya can only chuckle, "Of course, it is your usual!" She says, and and closes her notepad, "It may take a bit, but I'll make those croissants hot and fresh for you!"
She chipperly skips back to the kitchen, and Ben looks at you gratefully.
"Thanks for ordering those. They're my favorites, I have no idea how I forgot to mention them..." He says, giggling in spite of himself.
His stomach seems to agree, grumbling in anticipation. He goes completely red in the face, and stammers quietly for a little. "Guess I'm, ah...hungrier than I thought..."
Your eyes soften as you smile at him. He's adorable.

[[Good thing you have some time to chat him up then! |Talk2]]Lilya shortly comes back with a refill of tea for Ben, but that aside, you're left with Ben alone. You both are taking turns drinking in the sight of the other, before getting noticed and looking away faux innocently.
Though, the silence is soon becoming a touch awkward. You know Ben typically needs to be drawn into conversation as oppossed to starting one himself.
Maybe it's time to break the ice a little?
[[Ask him about himself]]
[[Talk about yourself]]
[[Enjoy your drinks in silence]]It's probably already been a massive step out of Ben's comfort zone to even show up to a date in the first place. It's probably for the best not to push him too much too soon. Being all wound up and anxious never makes for a good experience.
So you get to doing the talking for him. Ben listens intently as you ramble on about anything and everything that comes to your mind.
You mention the thrift store you got your favorite pair of shoes from, the last few notably kind or rude customers you had to deal with, and the random man shouting with a sign about the Earth being flat you spotted on the drive here. Each of your little quips and added flair you bring to the stories you tell seems to have him utterly charmed.
You can tell he's listening, too. Asking clairfying questions and laughing even when you weren't trying to be funny or exxaggerate. Though, maybe that's just proof of his nerves showing. Which is probably good! You know the pressure to impress all too well.
His quietness is refreshing, if you're being honest. Most people you talk to seem to engage in conversation just to talk and share their point of view. Instead, Ben is allowing for quiet moments and takes in information without feeling the need to respond to every bit of it. It's a nice change of pace.
You were just getting to the best part of your encounter with a woman walking her four cats on a harness when the smell of freshly baked goodies distracts you both. You catch Ben drooling a little, and watch as his eyes become transfixed on the steamy platter Lilya is bringing towards your table.
<<set $favor = $favor + 1>>
[[You can already taste the quality from here! |Food arrives]]You get it. Ben's an anxious guy, and he seems pretty content sipping on his drink and stealing not-so-subtle glances at you.
He's probably nervous enough going on his first date //ever//, so it's probably for the best you don't accidentally touch any frayed nerves while talking to him.
You're content to let him speak up when he wants. And while he seems to have the look in his eye that he wants to say something...he never does.
By the time you try to break the silence, Lilya arrvies back at the table before you can. She sets both warm plates of lovingly baked pastries in front of you.
"Please enjoy!" She chirps, as she hurries off to go plate another table's treats.
<<set $favor = $favor - 1>>
[[Talk about a missed opportunity... |Food arrives]]You can smell it before you can see it, and the heavenly smell of baked goods wafts towards your table.
The first thing you see are the donuts Ben's ordered. All are positively dripping in frosting. Sweet jelly is already starting to leak out of the holes used for filling, and it looks absolutely decadent. Adding to the air of indulgence are the fact the donuts themselves are very generously sized. How in the world are donuts the size of your face only four bucks?!
Ben looks simply elated as his donuts are placed right in front of him. Ben can barely utter a thanks before grabbing one and taking a hearty bite.
A couple crumbs already stick to his lips, though you don't have much time to admire the sight before your own slice of heaven is plated in front of you, courtesy of Lilya.
"Please enjoy! Just give me a holler if you need anything!" She says, before going over to greet a new pair of customers at the door.
You take a moment to glance back up at Ben. He's blissfully unaware of anything around him as he gleefully enjoys his pastries. Not particuarly bothering with napkins at the moment, his lips are coated in the frosting. Not that either of you mind, of course.
There's something so precious about seeing him to unabashedly joyful. He's always been quite reserved and generally keeping his cards close to his chest. It's making your stomach do flips to see him shine without feeling the need to control himself.
Before he catches you basking in his display, you decide to...
[[Do nothing. Your brain explodes into a million pieces and you can't decide on what to do next. Wait, what? |End]]I mean...what else are you going on a date with Ben for? The whole point is to get to know him better!
You ask him to tell you about himself. Sure, it's a bit of a stock question, but it's open-ended! Lots of opportunity for Ben to answer in any way he likes.
Ben, for his part, seems a bit sheepish. He bashfully ducks his head, grabbing his iced tea and taking another long sip from it. His hair falls in front of his face a little, and he peaks out at you between the glistening strands of gold.
"You, ah...want to know what about me, exactly?" He asks, looking rather unsure of himself. You simply tell him anything he's okay with sharing is alright in your book.
Ben brightens at your open-mindedness. It seems to take a lot of pressure off of him. He brings a pudgy hand up to brush his hair out of his face, and he even works up the courage to look at you directly...for a couple seconds. Baby steps.
"Well, uh...geez, sorry..." He pauses, and suddenly turns to look out the window. He brings a hand up to bashfully rest on the back of his neck. "Not really used to this, I guess. A lot more used to listening," After drawing in a breath, he turns back to you.
You nod encouragingly. You tell him that it might be nice to be heard for a change. He perks up at that.
"Well, you already know my name...and, uh, what I dor for work," He snorts at that. You gasp in mock surprise, and that gets a loud bark of laughter out of him. He swiftly brings a hand up to cover his mouth in surprise. Very cute and endearing of him to do, in your opinion.
"...I like to be comfy." He starts, a little quiet. "I love anything soft. Fleece and cotton clothes might have my heart more than peach tea, if I'm honest."
Even so, he takes a big swig of said peach tea. "My favorite days are the ones where I get situated on my plush couch, and wrap myself up in my favorite blankets. It gets a little warm, but animal videos on the TV take my mind of it."
He blushes slightly, "And snacks too, though you could probably guess that..."
He looks down at his lap, and rests a thick hand on his even thicker belly. He bashfully chuckles, "Wow. That's been the most I've talked in...a while. That felt really nice, actually," He looks up to meet your gaze once again. He's noticed you looking at him intently, dilligently listening to him. His eyes are shining and his face splits into the widest grin you've ever seen him wear.
"Thank you, Y/N. I really appreciate that."
You both reach for your drinks, and his chunky fingers clumsily pumps into yours. He draws his hand back, but the blush on his face and longing look at your hand tells you that maybe he wishes the touch lasted for longer. The thought makes you giddy.
Ben sucks down the last of his drink and brings a fist up to his mouth to stifle a burp. Your face lights up red, but you recover just before you hear light footsteps.
Lilya's back, and with something that's smelling absolutely divine.
