Rules & Settings

Core

  • Dealer stands on hard & soft 17.
  • Blackjack pays 3:2. Insurance disabled.
  • Late surrender allowed (lose half bet).
  • Split once (one resplit total). Aces get one card each.
  • Cut card at 75% penetration; reshuffle before next round.

Hi-Lo Card Counting

2–6 = +1, 7–9 = 0, 10–A = −1. Running count updates as each card is revealed. True count = running ÷ decks remaining.

Hi-Lo Sparkline — What it means

It’s a little sparkline of the True Count—a quick “temperature gauge” of the shoe.

What you’re seeing

  • The line shows the last ~30 updates of the True Count (TC).
  • Right edge = now. Left = a few cards ago.
  • The faint horizontal line is zero. Above it = good for you; below it = good for the dealer.
  • The Running / True / Decks remaining / Penetration numbers under it are the exact values the graph summarizes.

How to read it

  • Upward moves ⇒ lots of low cards (2–6) just came out → shoe is richer in 10s & Aces → better for you.
  • Downward moves ⇒ many high cards (10–A) came out → fewer blackjacks/busts for the dealer → worse for you.
  • Flat near zero ⇒ neutral shoe.

What to do with it (bet sizing basics)

  • As a rough rule of thumb, each +1 TC is worth about +0.5% player edge.
  • Many players bet minimum ≤ TC 0–1, start pressing at TC ≥ +2, and press harder at +3/+4.
  • Negative TC → tighten up (or wait for the reshuffle).

Caveats

  • Early in a shoe (many decks left), TC changes are smaller and less swingy; late in the shoe they move faster and matter more.
  • The graph resets on a reshuffle.
  • It’s an advantage indicator, not a guarantee—still play solid basic strategy.

So, think of the sparkline as your “trend meter”: rising & positive = press your bets; falling & negative = cool off.
