📜 The Rules of the Quest
Objective
Be the first player to reach Mount Doom with at least one Ring in
your possession.
On Your Turn
Roll Die: Move forward that many spaces.
Play Card: Use a card from your hand instead of rolling.
Retreat: If you have 0 Rings, you may retreat 1 space to find safety.
Encounters
Monsters (Orcs/Nazgul/Shelob): You must STOP when entering their space. To
leave, you must either:
Roll a 5 or 6.
Play a specific Card (Defeat/Move Monster).
Use a Ring (Escape & take another turn).
Mountains: Stop and roll the Mountain Die. You are stuck for that many turns.
Towns: Safe havens. Receive Rings (Bree=1, Rivendell=2, Lorien=Up to 3).
Cards & Combat
You may play cards on your turn. Opponents may play "Cancel" cards to stop you. Magic cards cannot be
cancelled.
The Rings
Rings are your life. Use them to escape monsters. If you have 0 Rings, you cannot enter Mount Doom.
Note: After passing Lorien, your last ring cannot be stolen by players.
