Beautiful Day Demo

The morning sun shines in through the curtains. You glance at the beautiful weather outside and get out of bed with a smile on your face. Quickly putting on some clothes you get ready for the day, Sasha and Erik are probably waiting to play with you. As you step out of your room you can smell pancakes cooking in the kitchen. Playing isn't much fun on an empty stomach. You pull up a chair to the table and sit down. "Good morning beautiful." Your mother says, passing you a plate of pancakes. "Morning!" you reply. How do you like your pancakes [[No Syrup]] [[Syrup]] [[Drowned in syrup]] [[Honestly it's basically soup at this point]] (set: $chill to $chill + 1)

Your'e too excited about playing with Sasha and Erik to possibly waste time eating. Plus you'd probably also have to converse with the parents. A prospect that doesn't interest you much. Your mother sees you rushing for the door. She chuckles to herself before handing you a piece of toast. "Have fun today!" "Be careful and don't go to far out of town." You've always thought that pancakes tasted fine on their own. No need to sully the flavor with that sickly sweet sugar. [[Finish Eating]]

You enjoy a fair balance of both pancake and syrup. Pancakes would be a little bland without the added sweetness of the syrup, but you don't want to overdo it. [[Continue Eating->Finish Eating]]

You are a sugar fiend. Pancakes are great and all, but they're really just a sponge to soak up the good part. Small puddles of syrup have started to gather on the table. What a sticky mess. (set: $madness to $madness + 1) [[Eat->Mess]]

You get up and grab a bowl from the shelf. After dumping almost all the contents of the syrup bottle into the bowl you slide the pancakes into the goop. Your mother just quitely shakes her head at you. This isn't the first time she's been a witness to your madness. You take a spoonful of the gunk and swallow it down. [[You regret your decision, you've ruined the pancakes]] [[It's better than you expected, you down the whole thing]] (set: $madness to $madness + 3)

You stare forlornly at the wasted breakfast. Not to worry though! Your kind doting mother cleans up your mess and gives you some toast. You thank your mother for the food and ask her where your dad is. "He's still sleeping." Figures. Dad always was a late sleeper. "Do you have any big plans for today?" She asks you [[Respond that you are going to be playing with Sasha and Erik]] [[Nah]] [[Ignore her and leave]] (set: $kind to $kind + 2)

You wail in despair. Your mother worked so hard on these pancakes, and you ruined them! You're a despicable monster how do you live with yourself? "Oh honey it's okay!" Mom rushes over and gives you a hug. "I made plenty." You feel a little bit better. You tell her you plan to meet up with Sasha and Erik. "Sounds like fun!" She smiles at you. "It's finally getting warm out. You can probably swim in the river if you want to now. You still feel bad about the pancakes. Better to leave before you cause yourself or others any more distress. Sniffling, you get up from the table and walk to the door. Your mother is concerned about your mental state. "Don't beat yourself up, it's really not a big deal." You nod your head forlornly. She sighs. "Just be careful okay. Don't stray too far from town." You hug your mom. She rubs your back and wipes away your tears. You feel comforted. [[Thank her<-Thank her for breakfast]] [[Untangle yourself and go outside->Get up and go outside]] (set: $kind to $kind + 3) (set: $emo to $emo + 1)

You ask mom what 'her' plans for the day are. "The trade caravan is passing through town today, I thought it would be a good oppurtunity to take the students on a field trip." You bring your plate to the sink and tell your mother your going to head out. "Have fun!" she replies [[Exit the house]] (set: $kind to $kind + 2)

You tell your mother that you're heading out now. "Okay have a good time honey. Don't stray too far from town, if you go swimming in the river make sure to stay with a group." [[Exit the house]]

You finish eating the last of the pancakes. Now that your hunger is satisfied you can continue with your day. Your mother smiles at you while she drinks her morning cofee. [[Thank her<-Thank her for making you breakfast]] [[Get up and go outside]]

What is to be done about this mess? You stare at your mother. She stares back. After about a minute, your mother sighs and stands up. Table syrup is still edible right? You press your face onto the table and lick up all the spilled syrup. Your poor mother cannot bear to watch, she pretends not to see the bizzareness unfolding. You and your family live in a remote village in the mountains. Your parents are the joint leaders of the town. There's been a recent trickling of travelers who have come to learn about your town's notable skill in fire magic. There's been talk about setting up a school but in the interim your parents have been taking on the teaching duties for the outsiders. Spring has just passed and the weather has shifted to early summer. The trade caravan is expected to pass through from the north today and the town is bustling with excitement. As an eight year old child, the possibilities for today are endless. [[Wake up->Beautiful morning]]
