About This Demo
Welcome to the marblebuilds preview demo! This standalone version serves as a technical snapshot of the core mechanics available in our upcoming launch.
marblebuilds is a creative 2D marble contraption builder, physics sandbox, and engineering game focused on instant grid-based level design, deep digital logic networks, and interactive direct-control marble platforming loops.
Unlike traditional passive Rube Goldberg machines or completely static physics puzzle games, marblebuilds lets you instantly transition from blueprint architect to real-time player, taking direct keyboard or gamepad control of the physics object inside a precision platformer environment.
If you enjoy rich level editor mechanics and creative sandbox depth in titles like Geometry Dash, Minecraft, Line Rider, Free Rider HD, Algodoo, The Powder Toy, Poly Bridge, Besiege, Build A Boat For Treasure (BABFT), or complex Zachtronics engineering challenges, marblebuilds links elements of all of them into an accessible 2D sandbox builder environment.
Core Game Features
- Instant Snap-to-Grid Building: Bypasses tedious coordinate manipulation or vector sizing friction for precise, low-friction track and mechanical system execution.
- 150+ Interactive Block Library: Build using dynamic mechanical parts including high-velocity boosters, springs, bumpers, gravity filters, portals, and interactive wind blowers.
- Advanced Logic & Circuit Systems: Inspired natively by Minecraft Redstone mechanics. Wire together logic gates, custom timers, delay blocks, and Memcells triggered by rolling marble sensors to build automated factories, puzzle gates, or literal programmable computers.
- Transformative Block Movers: Use advanced mechanical slider, rotator, placer, and destroyer blocks to reconfigure physical levels or slide complex circuit networks dynamically mid-run.
- Three Distinct Game Modes:
- Sandbox Mode: Unlimited building on an infinite square canvas to build, name, paint (16-color industrial/nature palette), and race custom marbles against global finish times.
- Puzzle Campaign Mode: Deliberate engineering challenges where you solve optimization problems under strict block limitations.
- Platformer Mode: Take active real-time control of your marble to dodge hazards, swap marble states on the fly, and climb competitive skill leaderboards.
- User-Generated Content & Local Privacy: This demo runs entirely offline on your device with local saving. The full game focuses heavily on seamless in-game community track sharing, community level curation, and social publishing.
