The cat searches Damien's hands for more.

Ean grimaces. He'd really rather not wander too far, lest someone not in on their plan catches sight of him. But he'd also rather finish this deal than get caught when the sun comes up.

There are no lights on. No sign of anyone to be seen. Not even another cat out on the pasture. Just the sleepy presence of the cats behind him.
Ean doesn't dare go any further than threshold of the barn, just in case somebody spots him.

"Come now," he soothes. "I'm sure you have strangers coming through here all the time. Gotta make sure those cubs are nice and healthy, right?"
He offers the jerky to her, and her aggression fades when she reaches out to sniff what he [[has in his hand.|Calm]]It's easy enough to distract her by dropping the meat in the straw before her, and offering her a few pets to ease her nerves.
For all her warnings, she's as well trained as they come. Ean lets her snuffle through the straw for her treat for a moment before reaching to lift the cub from her side.
As long as he doesn't accidentally [[hurt the cub,|Out of the stall]] he should be golden.The dam offers her cub a chuff as he's lifted away, but seems otherwise appeased, no doubt trusting that Ean will return the cub before long.
He can't deny feeling a little bad that he won't be doing so. But it'll all be worth it in the end, right?
