Once upon a time... in a colorful jungle, there lived a parrot named Pip. Pip LOVED to have fun! He danced all day. He sang all day. He splashed in puddles. He had the most fun of any bird in the jungle!

All the other birds worked hard. They gathered seeds. They built nests. They saved up food. But Pip just danced and danced. "Work is BORING!" said Pip. "Fun is better!"

Spring. Summer. Fall. Winter. Time passed. The other birds had full nests, lots of food saved up, and money in their pockets. But Pip? Pip just had danced and danced and danced.

Pip became poor. He had no food. No nest. No money. He sat on a tiny stick all alone. The other birds pointed at him and said, "YOU are POOR because you have NO WORK!"

And all the kid birds in the jungle pointed and chanted, "POOR! POOR! POOR! NO WORK! POOR! POOR!" Pip cried BIG tears. He wished he had worked, even just a little bit.
