"Ah! W-what happened!?" a girl screamed. It was Tina.
"I have no idea!?" shouted Mark.
The four kids who were standing there in the dimly lit room seemed really scared.
A sudden flash. It blinded them.
They did something strange. Something wrong.
A ritual.
One they saw online.
It was trendy among teens. Nothing had happened when they did it and was just for fun.
And yet...
Something did happen this time... And they didn't understand what.
"Hey, Jaan!" said one of the kids. It was Irina. "Are you alright!?"
[["I am, yeah."|A]]
[["I feel kinda strange... Kinda weird."|B]]

October 4th, 2038.
Estonia.
A small town.
A ritual...
And a house.
What does the future holds?
No one know...
Not even you.
But you know, for certain...
That things will never be the same..
[[Begin your journey|Chapter0]]Mark put his hand on my forehead.
"You don't seem to have fever..." he said, and looked at me more closely. "Or anything, aside of trembling..."
He was trembling a bit too.
"Phew... At least nothing bad happened." said Tina.
[[(continue)|Scene2]]"Jaan..." said Irina. She seemed worried.
"H-he seems OK." added Mark.
I nodded.
"Thankfully." said Tina. "But what a thing happened."
[[(continue)|Scene2]]"Good, good. Ugh." said Tina.
"Are you alright?" Asked Irina.
"Eh, I'm just a bit dizzy. It's fine."
"If you say so." replied Mark.
[[(continue)|Scene2]]In the end, the conclusion was that there was a sudden surge of energy at home, and that's why the flash happened. It was so sudden that it scared us.
"What a stupid game, am I right?" Mark said. He still trembled a bit.
"Yeah, yeah. Just look at you." said Irina.
Everyone laughed.
Nobody seemed harmed.
After a while, we went downstairs to the living room.
We played video games for a couple of hours until their parents showed up to take them home.
Then I was alone.
I waited for my parents for a few hours.
They finally arrived at 5 P.M.
They brought with them groceries for the week, but mom also brought something.
"Jaan, look at this!" she said to me. It was a small box.
I opened it.
"It's a night light!" she exclaimed.
"We know that you don't like sleeping with lights off, so we decided to buy that to help you sleep better."
That's what my dad said while putting the groceries in their respective places.
"And we also know that you like stars and planets, so... It has the image of the moon!" said mom. "If you want, we can try it now!"

"Yes, mom! Let's try it now!" I exclaimed.
"Hehe." She laughed a bit. "Sure, Jaan, let's go to your room."
Dad stayed downstairs, as he was preparing the dinner today.
When I entered my bedroom, my mom connected the light.
"Ok, then, let's try it!" she said. "I give you the honors, Jaan. Turn it on!"
"Yes!"
I turned it on, and...
"Wow..."
It projected an image of the moon on the ceiling.
The quality was amazing.
It was HD.
So detailed...
"Thanks, mom! I love it!"
"I'm really glad you think so, dear. But let's go downstairs now, and help daddy, ok?"
"Yes, mom!"
We went downstairs and, after a while, we had dinner.
The TV was on, and it was on the news channel. It was just for us to have background noise, I thought, as my mom and dad checked their cellphones.
But the news were interesting to me too.
We stayed there until it was time for me to go to sleep.
Before I entered my room, mom approached me.
She kissed my forehead, and said:
"Good night, Jaan."
"Good night, champ," said my dad too.
And she went to her room with dad.
[[(Continue)|Night1]] "Let's try it after dinner, mom." I said. "I feel kinda hungry now..."
"That's ok, sweetie." she said. "Let's have dinner first."
Dad was the one doing the dinner today.
He was alright at that.
The TV was on, and it was on the news channel. It was just for us to have background noise, I thought, as my mom and dad checked their cellphones.
But the news were interesting to me too.
Though, while my parents were on their phones, I saw the TV and...
Well, one news report caught my attention.
It was about an asteroid passing near the planet.
It hadn't been detected until yesterday, but scientists said it posed no problem and, if anything were to happen... Starman would be the one to solve it, as he always did with this kind of things.
"Starman is so cool..." I said to myself.
We stayed there until it was time for me to go to sleep.
My mom, then, said that we should go try the night light before it.
When I entered my bedroom, my mom connected the light.
"Ok, then, let's try it!" she said. "I give you the honors, Jaan. Turn it on!"
"Yes!"
I turned it on, and...
"Wow..."
It projected an image of the moon on the ceiling.

"Thanks, mom! I love it!"
"I'm really glad you think so, dear. But you should go sleep now, Jaan."
She kissed my forehead, and said:
"Good night, Jaan."
And she left my room.
[[(Continue)|Night1]] After a while, it was time to sleep.
It was 9 P.M. after all, and I had classes tomorrow.
I entered my bedroom, closed the door. I turned on my night light, and turned off the lights.
I got into bed and covered myself with my blanket.
But...
As I was about to close my eyes... I saw the projection of the moon on the ceiling.
There was something wrong with it...
But I didn't know what.
Then...
From the projection of the moon, something emerged from behind it.
A monster...
A really scary one.
A long face stretching to the sides, a big smile, and small eyes.
Its body was humanoid, but slender.
Made of pure white.
It looked directly at me.
I couldn't move at all.
I was scared... Trembling...
I couldn't stop thinking about what we'd done with my friends earlier. Was this because of that?
Suddenly, the monster opened its mouth, and said:
"I didn't scare you, did I? If I did, I apologize. It was not my intention, little child."
Its voice was strange and yet, sounded gentle...
Unexpected coming from such a thing.
[[I am scared...|Scared]]
[[I am not scared. Not anymore.|NotScared]]The creature, then... Its expression changed.
It looked... Sad.
"I am really sorry for that, my child... I know, I look horrible, but this is just the way I look. I can change my form to something even worse, but not something more... Cute."
It closed its eyes.
"But I must assure you, I am here not to harm you."
[[(Continue)|Monster1]]The creature smiled horribly, then added:
"I'm so glad to hear that, child."
It stayed silent for a moment and added:
"I know my form is horrible, but there's nothing I can do to change that. I can make myself look more horrible, but not more appealing. That's just the biology of my body."
It looked at your own soul.
"But I must assure you, I don't want any harm to happen to you, my child."
[[(Continue)|Monster1]]The creature, then, added:
"I need you to listen to me."
It looked at the moon, and then back at me:
"Something really bad is going to happen soon... Something awful... Though, for some... It would be something amazing..."
The creature clasped its slender hands together. It had 4 fingers in each one.
"But I implore you... In the next 7 days... Don't leave your house, and don't let anyone enter... And most importantly... Don't listen to him..."
After saying that, the creature vanished. But a faint voice could be heard.
"I hope to see you soon... Jaan..."
After that, I no longer felt scared.
But I felt... Weird...
Who was "Him"?
Why was a monster inside the house?
Didn't heroes protect us from those? I mean, I saw one earlier today near the house, patrolling...
Did anything happen to him?
I don't think so, my parents would have know, or it would have appeared online or in TV...
"Eh... Maybe it was my imagination."
I just decided to sleep.
I had classes tomorrow, after all...
Chapter 0 End.
