Klumen is a puzzle game made by José Soares ("we"). This policy covers both the Android app and the version you play in a browser. In short: the game keeps your progress on your device, the only thing it ever sends anywhere is an optional leaderboard entry, and it shows ads through Google, which processes some data as described below.
Want your data gone? Jump straight to Deleting your data — it explains what disappears on its own and how to have a leaderboard entry removed.
Almost none, and none of it identifies you. Your level progress, Lumens, unlocked looks, companions, chosen language and sound settings are stored on your device only — in the app's local storage on Android, and in your browser's local storage on the web. There are no accounts, and we do not sell or share this information. The two versions are separate: progress does not transfer between the app and the browser.
The leaderboard is entirely optional. Nothing is sent unless you choose a nickname; if you never enter one, nothing about you ever leaves your device.
If you do enter one, we store four things: the nickname you typed, your highest level reached, your score, and a random identifier generated on your device so your entry updates instead of duplicating. That identifier is not linked to you, your phone, your Google account or your email — we have no way to tell who you are, and we do not ask.
Please note the leaderboard is public: the nickname and score you submit are visible to every other player, so pick a nickname you are happy showing. The data is held in Google Firestore in the European Union (Madrid) and never leaves the EU. If you want your entry removed, email us at the address below — but since we cannot tell which row is yours, please tell us the nickname you used.
Klumen shows occasional ads between levels, and optional ads you choose to watch in exchange for an in-game reward. In the app these are served by Google AdMob. To serve them, Google may collect and process data such as your device's advertising identifier and app-interaction information, in accordance with Google's policies. See Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses this data. You can reset or limit your advertising ID in your device settings.
In the browser the same ads are served by Google AdSense instead. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies, and may process data such as your IP address, browser information and interactions with ads, in order to serve and measure advertising. See Google's Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Klumen currently sells nothing, in either version. There are no in-app purchases, so no payment data of any kind reaches us. If that changes, purchases will be handled entirely by Google Play and this policy will be updated first.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you will be asked for your consent choices before personalised ads are shown, through Google's consent message. You can change those choices at any time using the "Privacy settings" / "Manage options" link in that message.
The Android app includes Google Analytics for Firebase. It records how the game is used — that it was opened, how long a session lasted, which levels were started and finished, and the country and device type a session came from. It exists to answer one question: where people get stuck, and whether they come back.
It records nothing about who you are. No name, no email, no account — there are no accounts — and your advertising identifier is not used for it. Firebase does generate a random installation identifier, so that repeated sessions from the same install can be counted as one player rather than many; uninstalling the app discards it.
If you decline in the consent message, analytics is switched off along with personalised ads. The web version at klumen.vercel.app has no analytics at all.
Klumen is suitable for all ages and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Everything the game stores on your device is cleared the same way: clearing your browser's site data for this domain, or uninstalling the app, deletes all of it — including your progress. This cannot be undone and we have no copy of it.
The one exception is your leaderboard entry, because it is the only thing that is not on your device. To have it removed, email the address below with the nickname you used and we will delete the row. There is nothing else of yours to delete — there are no accounts.
Analytics can be switched off without deleting anything: decline in the consent message, or reopen it from Privacy options in the Shop.
