Display, sound and controller preferences, plus your chosen leaderboard name, are saved locally in your browser. Clear this site's browser data to remove them.
Only when you submit a score, your chosen name, score, alien kills, collected eggs, alert level and run duration are saved to the shared database. They are visible to other players. Use a nickname rather than personal information. Random run tokens identify a game session. The server uses short-lived keyed network-address hashes to limit abuse; hosting providers may also keep operational logs.
The demo's leaderboard uses a separate Cloudflare-hosted service when configured. Scores expire after 365 days without an update, run tokens after seven days, and rate-limit hashes within roughly one hour. Cloudflare and itch.io may maintain their own service logs. The downloadable complete edition stores its leaderboard locally in your browser and sends no scores to this service.
