Welcome to Engine Sound Lab v1.8.9!

This build makes driving feel much faster. The car now accelerates at 2.5 g under full throttle (up from 1.0 g) and aerodynamic drag has been halved — so you rip through the gears and feel the pull.

🚀 New in v1.8.9: Faster acceleration — 2.5× the previous launch force, with reduced drag. Try Drag mode in the V8 or the I4 SS sportbike for the full effect. Remember to shift up when the shift light comes on!

🎵 Still here from before: per-engine harmonic voicing, correct tachometer, per-cylinder variation, rev-limiter bounce, downshift blip, recent-runs history, PWA install and offline mode.

Tuning Explained

Redline 3,000–18,000 RPM. Low for cruisers, high for sportbikes.
Displacement 0.5–8.0 L. Small for bikes, big for trucks.
Throttle Response Raises or lowers how fast the RPM follows your input. Also affects how quickly the throttle ramps up in Drive.
Launch RPM The RPM the engine holds at during Launch Control.
Limiter Bounce How hard the RPM bounces off the rev limiter.
Downshift Blip Auto throttle blip on downshift in Drive/Drag mode.
Cylinder Variation Per-cylinder firing drift for mechanical character.

⚡ Driving tip: Now that acceleration is much faster, gear changes matter more. Watch the shift light (the red dot next to "RPM") and tap ▲ / ↑ the instant it flashes for maximum acceleration. Downshift with ▼ / ↓ for the heel-toe blip.

Modes & Positions

Modes: Free Rev, Load Test, Drive (0‑60 timer), 🏁 Drag (1/4 mile), Dyno.

Recent Runs records only in Drive and Drag modes.

Positions: Driver, Engine Bay, Exhaust, Behind, Outside — each changes the tone.

Downshift Blip only fires in Drive and Drag modes above ~4 mph.

Engine Sound Lab is a full PWA. Once installed, it launches in its own window and works offline.
