Start equipped for 2 minutes in the shooting range. No player damage or progression rewards. Use your normal movement and firing controls.
Same weapon, three energy signatures. Try the look and sound of each in the shooting range.
Rail Crossing test: 9,999 points, no damage. Use the lit train lever southwest of the center platform. Red: horde · Green: soldiers · Blue: power-up. Quarantine test: ongoing civilian airlifts and unpredictable infected aircraft crashes. Evacuation Zone: defend the rescue helicopter for 60 seconds, clear the horde, then hold USE at either door to board. Repair stages restore 450 hull for free; interrupted work is saved. Turn God Mode OFF to test hull damage; practice still protects your soldier.
Connect your controller and press a button, then release the controls once. Browser-recognized standard controllers use these bindings. Phone or PC compatibility depends on your controller model and its connection mode. You may need to tap once for sound, fullscreen or a device file picker.
Left pad moves exactly like original Deadwatch. Right pad points your aim around a full 360° and fires while engaged. The camera stays fixed in a high angled overhead view and follows your position only — aiming never rotates it. FIRE also shoots. Use Dash, Nuke, Boost, Lure and Medkit for emergencies. Tap USE once for power, shock traps, freezer shutters or COLD SNAP. Stay nearby while the bar fills; keep moving and firing. Leaving range cancels. Other actions still use HOLD USE. Shock traps are free after power is on, run for 4 seconds and recharge on a 24-second cycle. Dash cuts through one thin row; time it into a swipe for faster recovery. Hold and drag LURE to place it, then release. Evac repairs keep their progress when you move away.
Solo difficulty: Casual reduces damage to you and the rescue helicopter by 40%, lowers the normal horde cap by 25% and spaces normal spawns 25% farther apart. Hard keeps the original challenge. Both earn full Watch XP. Choose before starting; the run keeps its difficulty until it ends. Starting WITH ROOK uses the original rules.
Offline teammate: Rook picks his own targets, avoids danger and helps collect treasure. Stand close to revive him when it is safe. Choose WITH ROOK to start a campaign with him. You can also toggle TEAMMATE in Options or Pause.
Quick Match: five rounds on a Campaign-cleared map. Finish for 175 Watch XP, plus 25 with no lives lost. Endless: choose one cleared map or a rotation; each sector lasts five rounds. XP banks after each complete five-round block. Every tenth round brings a major threat. Both replay modes support Casual/Hard and Solo/Teammate. Replay runs retain the existing lives and score-life rewards. Round breaks let you collect loot and continue; permanent builds are managed in Upgrades.
In Campaign, after collecting loot and choosing an upgrade, step onto a glowing ground portal. Its destination is revealed when you arrive.
Lives: three per run. Losing a life restores health and grants a brief blue shield; your wave, score and upgrades stay. The third death ends the run. Companion: walk over an Attack Drone pickup for 15 seconds of supporting fire. It follows your aim alongside your weapon; another pickup refreshes it. Its battery pauses during the loot phase. Carbine: unlimited ammo, no reload. Panic tools: start with 1 nuke + 2 boosts (3 boosts with Rank 20 Panic Reserve). Keep rotating the map—stale pockets attract Breakout pressure.
