It's 3am. There's that weak grey tinge to the sky that reveals the early summer sun preparing to rise. The cat has started to meow. [[Ignore the cat|ignore]].<<set $time to 3>>

Did you even hear that? Just on the edge of a dream. At first quiet. A pause. But then again, more insistent. Meow. [[Continue to ignore the cat|ignore2]]<<set $time += 1>>.

The padding sensation of a cat walking up the bed. Meep. Meep. Paws press on a sensitive area, you stir. The cat meows louder, and begins to purr. A soft rumble, comforting. But it's $time am and you're trying to sleep. [[Pet the cat|pet1]]. [[Roll away from the cat|roll]]. [[Talk to the cat|talk1]]. [[Ignore the cat|ignore3]].

Still mostly asleep, you raise your hand. Without opening your eyes you wave your hand towards the general sensation of the cat's location, felt through the duvet. The cat rubs against your hand getting cold wet nose juice all over it. Trying your hardest to cling to sleep, you roll over, away from the cat. It's paws stumble as the duvet slips from underneath it, you almost feel guilty. You pull the thick duvet over your head, scrunch your eyes, try to block out the meowing. A minute passes, there's no sound. You feel yourself relax. The cat starts to chew on your hair instead. You swat the cat away. The cat has beaten you. You get out of bed, but it still meows. You feed it, it meows while eating. You let it out, but it meows outside. It meows when you let it back in. This is every day. You've forgotten what time it is any more.
