You're stood in the centre of van Roja's study. Best guess says the jewels are in here somewhere.

Nothing that's going to help find these jewels though.

I know this sounds mad, but before I left I dreamt that some cat-burgular managed to break into the Apartment, managed to get into my desk drawer, read my diary, get into my laptop and find the safe, find the combo and steal the jewels.
