A crystal-clear pond is painted red by a young woman washing the blood out of her hair and clothing. She knows she is alone and isn't afraid to wash her chest matted in crimson. It's her first real moment of being conscious. Of being alive.
She doesn't quite know who she is. A Whisper in her mind named her //Flena//. But Flena does know that she will be hunted throughout this foreign land. Once she cleans, she'll need to keep moving. The jelly feeling in her body has finally subsided, and her ears are no longer clogged with water from the chamber she was ripped out of.
While not entirely whole. Flena is most certainly alive, even if only for a brief time.
[[The World]]
[[The Woman]]
With her blue eyes she takes in what is beyond her: A pier is on the opposite side of the pond. Whoever frequents there has left a bucket and fishing rod tied to the post. //'That won't help me.'// her mind berates.
Looking up, Flena takes in three white peaks of mountains she is sure are much colder than the water on her body. Looking to her right she spots a paved path sprouting with grass. It's the one that leads Flena back to her captors. Her mind replays the memory of the man trying to use her, lying dead and naked in his own blood. Flena pulls the white undershirt and thick, wolf fur jacket back on. Neither no longer smell like him.
Surrounding her are plains she has no knowledge of. The grass is vibrant and the trees are plentiful, but she is sure there are enemies of all kinds waiting for her. It's a risk she'll have to take.
[[The Woman ]]
Before Flena had properly awoken, she had been carried effortlessly on a stretcher by two strange men. They had bickered and argued about morality and money. One of them, named Milo, would always speak to her. The other, known as Jackal, regarded her as an 'Icie' with 'no emotions' and 'dangerous'.
Flena couldn't help but agree with Jackals description. She had felt nothing but fleeting rage when she stabbed the man, they sold her to //over// and //over// and //over//. Now, she carried his spear and his clothes with no further thought. It was inevitable. It was life.
When she first started cleaning her body, Flena had peered into the mirror-like water. She spotted a pale woman too small to have overpowered the beast of a man that was stripping her down. The left side of her head was shaved, accompanied with small cog-like shapes made out of left-over hair. On the right was flowing blonde hair that had whipped in her face as she bolted out of the town.
For a moment, she held the spears sharp edge to her hair and considered cutting it off. But that same whisper that named her stilled Flena's hand.
[[The World ]]
//'There's no time to ponder.'//
Flena knew it'd be a matter of time before they hunt for the 'Icie' that killed a man. She didn't mind the title. Flena slung the spear over her shoulder. She decided it'd be best to follow the paved path through the trees surrounding it. If anyone were to appear, she could hide and wait for them to pass.
They would question her if she was [[alone.]]So, Flena followed the paved path. It wound through the thriving forest. But Flena paid no mind to the animals and spectacles around her. Instead, keeping an ear out for any sounds that did not flow with the nature surrounding her. Walking for what felt like forever, Flena finally reached a wooden sign post. There were three large planks hammered on to the brittle wooden pole. Only two out of the three planks were legible.
Now where was she to go?

The community centre was brimming with merchants, growing families and bounty hunters. Hunters like Milo and Jackal resided there and had sold her in that same place. They must've found the man's body by now; pale and naked, with his eyes still open. Flena didn't understand the respect of closing an opponent's eyes. Why would she?
If she were to return there, she would surely be killed.
[[Back ]]
Flena had no idea what could be here. But it was close and if she left now, she could beat the sun dipping behind the snowy peaks. But who's to say the mercenaries there weren't in the pockets of those most likely hunting her? How could she be certain they wouldn't try and use her as the dead man had?
It was a risk she was going to have to take.
[[Back]]A bed and merchants but no work. This was definitely the safest option out of the three, even if she would arrive late at night. No travelling merchant would have the time nor gall to question a lone 'Icie'. But would Flena even be able to afford a bed?
Hopefully she wouldn't have to use brute force.
//'No prying eyes and hopefully some easy work. Boma should do.'//
Guard raised and spear out for show, Flena began that last little trek to hopefully somewhere safe. She could feel another headache coming on. It reminded her of that rush of rage and colour that guided the spear into that man's torso thirteen times. //'Where did that come from?'// She had no clue.
The stomach of the Sun pierced the mountaintops as Flena entered Boma. To her left she could hear loud clanging noises and an assortment of voices talking, whooping and grunting. They had their swords, spears and bows drawn as they practiced on stuffed dummies and each other. Some of them had their arms and faces wrapped in bandages. Others wore big grins as they hit a target from afar or confidently out skilled their opponent.
They were mercenaries alright. Flena just had to hope they weren't [[looking for her]].

//'The last thing I need are swords in my back, Denia it is.'//
Flena had to wrap the wolf-skin jacket tighter around her form as she climbed one of the many hills surrounding Denia. Another wooden sign told her it was connected to a region much further from here called Gorpho. Gorpho was nestled within the three mountain peaks that blocked the Sun and pierced the blue veil, turning it into night.
The wind had rustled the fallen orange leaves, seeming to pirouette and leap on the grassy hills. Flena, of course, paid no mind to such beauty and instead kept her blue eyes on the large torii gate that led into Denia.
The first thing Flena saw was a large fountain surrounded by giggling children. They were throwing small, steel balls into the water. As if picking up on her presence, all the children turned and [[gawked at her.]]

Was Flena ready to [[decide?]][[Go to Boma]]
She decided it would be best to avoid them for now, and turned to the inn that was oozing with people and bright neon lights. The lights were an assortment of blue and red, spelling out 'ONTANIA'. Flena had no idea what that meant.
The doors to the inn were wide open. People were laughing, dancing, or singing along terribly to the slightly scratched vinyl records spinning on its table. There was a small TV attached to a wall playing a slightly pixelated movie.
The bartender noticed Flena and ushered her forward with a wave of his singed tea towel. Flena approached cautiously and seated herself on a vacant stool. The bartender smiled and filled a glass full of [[water.]]The kids were tucked into their fluffy coats and thick beanies. Some ran towards her, while those who stayed at the fountain yelled at them to "Stay away from strangers!"
One little girl had her brown hair in two braids that flapped up and down as she jumped on one leg. "Hi, hi, hi!" she said with each bounce and Flena could only stare. "Aren't you gonna say hi back?" A little boy questioned, looking up at her with a pout. "Yeah! You should always say 'hi' back! That's what mumma said." Another boy chided in.
Flena looked at the three kids for a moment longer before striding past them. She had to find somewhere to stay and there was no way these kids could help her.
"Hey!" one of them yelled out in annoyance.
Flena turned around, sporting a frown. //'These kids are annoying.'//
Then, for the first time since it named her, the whisper spoke.
//[[Be kind to them.]]//
//[[Leave them be]]//Flena nodded in thanks then took a big swig, choking violently when it ran down her throat. Since when did water sting her chest and water the eyes?
"What the fuck is this?" Flena hissed to the bartender who was laughing wildly. The patrons surrounding them joined in and Flena felt her head pulse in pain.
"Thought you could use a pick me up. You look like you've been walking for days." Flena gritted her teeth and crushed the glass in her hand. The man and patrons weren't even phased by the blood trickling down her palm. Instead, he leant over the bar, "Then again, Icies always have that dead look in their eyes."
Before Flena could reach for her spear, one of the mercenaries from outside grabbed her by the hair and slammed her head into the [[bar top.]]Denia quest with Ty - Julia's Elixirs
To get in good with merchants, Flena and Ty must work together to fend off rumoured Droids hiding out in a dilapidated warehouse housing medicine. Will Flena's rage put Ty in danger? How will she handle the dangerous droids?Flena's hands were shaking. The man abobe her was still laughing and pulling on her hair. The man called out to the now cheering bar patrons, "Should I cut it all off? Maybe I'll slit her throat instead! Where's your master, huh? Huh?!" This man wrapped in fox fur and leather was goading her.
Meanwhile, one of his companions hadn't lost herself in the show he was putting on. She hadn't even seen the bartender placed the glass of whiskey on the counter.
Instead, she was watching the ticking time bomb Flena was becoming. The Icies face was veiny; ears tinted red. "Karlo, let her go." The merc had her arms crossed over her armour, voice dropping an octave.
Karlo rolled his eyes at his companion, "Oh c'mon, Sana. This Icie might go for good money. Hell, maybe she could clean our weapons, lick our boots. Would you like that, bitch?" Flena wasn't responding, jaw tense, and throat tight. Her spear. Where was her [[spear?]]
It was on the floor next to the bartop, its sharp edge was calling to her. It was that Whisper that named her. It was begging her to fight back. //Your hair. Don't let him cut your hair.//
Was that it's only concern?! The heat in her body was getting unbearable.
"Karlo. She's going to blow!" Sana cried out.
"Let her! I've never seen a Phantom up close." Karlo held the blade to her thick hair, a few strands splitting off.
"You're insane! She could fuck us all up."
Their voices began to blur and change in pitch. The words were rushing by like a torrent of wind. The colours were so much brighter now. They were kaleidoscopic. Then the Whisper became a scream. What was it saying?
//[[ KILL HIM ]]//A bliss overtook her as the heat on her body eased, muscles relaxing. The mercenaries felt the shift and looked at each other. Karlo started laughing at Sana. "See, Sana. This one's so broken she can't even have a Phantom." Then Karlo leaned down and whispered into Flena's ear, "Pathetic."
The only way Flena could describe what happened next was a rush of wind and blurring colours pushing her forward. Ripping free of his grip, she dived for her spear.
The other mercs couldn't even pull out their weapons before the blade was going through Karlo's neck. His eyes blew wide, unable to speak. Karlo's words were drowned out. Blood rushing like a waterfall out of his new mouthpiece. Then Flena swished her spear left and right. Karlo's head glided off his neck and laid on the bartop next to his whiskey.
Then, as quickly as the wind took her, it set her on the floor. Spear feeling way too heavy for her to even keep up. The kaleidoscopic colours drifted, her ears clearing. She could hear the bar patrons screaming and Karlo's fellow mercenaries approaching her. They were loading their crossbows and threatening to kill her. But she couldn't have cared less.
There was blood on her body again. [[She'd have to clean it off.]]

Flena looked up at the sky as though the voice in her head resided there. She didn't have time for this. But they'd probably pester her if she didn't say anything. So, the Icie swallowed what others would call 'pride' and raised her hand, waving it rigidly at the three kids. "Hi." she choked out.
The kids looked amongst themselves in shock, then, a switch flipped and they all giggled. Flena felt something tug in her chest and tried to ignore the nice feeling it sent through her.
The little girl with braids followed after Flena who had resumed her walk through the market. On both sides of the stone path were tents and pop-up shops bustling with women and men of all kinds. Some sold clothing, others weapons. But majority dealt in foods, medicines and trinkets. Their owners called out to the populace of Denia to see their wares and invest in their latest creations. That was easy for Flena, who strutted down the stone path hoping to find lodging somewhere. However, the kids refused to give up and chased after her. All three talking amongst themselves or trying to get Flena's name.

Ty's grin softened at her name. He seemed pleased that she was cooperating. Flena just didn't want to be called 'Blondie' anymore. "Interesting. Never heard that Ghost Name before. Nice to meet you - I'm Ty. Want a hand getting up?" Ty held a hand out for her to take.
Flena shook her head, trying to get up and failing. Looking down, Flena tried not to groan at her hand that was now slick with Karlo's blood. It was still seeping from the rest of his corpse. "Need to clean this again." She mumbled to herself.
"Let's worry about our appearance later. We gotta convince your wannabe executors to let you walk outta here. Take my hand." Surprisingly to both, Flena did take his hand. "Welp, Blondie it is then." Then, without warning, Ty tucked his thin hands under Flena's armpits and lifted her off the floor. She groaned out a 'fuck off' and Ty chuckled. "Nice meeting you too!"
Once he was sure she was leaning against the bartop, Ty grabbed her bloody spear and slipped it into the holster on his back.
Flena could feel her body waking up now and could feel something warm brushing her pinkie. Looking down, she was face to face with Karlo's paling head. His eyes were not as wide anymore and had glossed over. Red veins poked at his dead irises, and his teeth were red with his blood. //Serves him right// the Whisper said.

The two Icies turned at the voice. Trent was loading his crossbow and aiming it right at Ty's head. "Trent, buddy. If you shoot me with that thing, you'll have the entirety of the Kindal region on your ass."
"You're not hot shit, Ty."
"Well, that's just rude!" Ty pouted, playing with his hair as he walked closer to Trent.
"Stay the fuck back!" The man pressed his finger a little harder on the trigger of his crossbow. Flena spotted sweat dripping down his face.
"Sana, put a leash on him, will you?"
Sana didn't respond to Ty but shot a look Trent's way. The two seemed to have a silent argument while Flena nicked her spear back from Ty. Ty turned and caught her wrist, quickly releasing it when realising who it is.
"You're moving around quicker than I expected," Ty admitted, giving her a once over.
Flena ignored him and sheathed her spear, [["Underestimating me, are you?"]]

"We'll have to work on your manners. Also take off that coat, it screams 'I killed the guard commander of Trina'." Ty said like he was taking down notes for some important test.

Flena couldn't even keep her neck up for too long. So, she decided to stare at the blood seeping into the wooden floorboards.
Trent was agitated. Flena could tell he hated being underestimated. "That's not the point. Don't let this bastard confuse us. //She// just killed Karlo, why are we milling about?"
"Because you know I can offer you a deal." The stranger's voice is dripping with confidence. A part of Flena wished she'd cut his head off instead.
"You and your fucking deals, Ty. Karlo may have fallen into them, but I sure as hell won't." Sana was seething, refusing to turn and acknowledge the newcomer named Ty. Her brown eyes remained glued to Flena, who was feeling the hands of sleep pull her closer.
"Hear me out. Icies work best in a duo. [[Isn't that right, Blondie?"]]Ty sighed, "Well you have lasted long for someone wearing the coat of Trina's recently dead, guard commander." Flena cursed and threw the coat off her body, it began soaking up the blood still pouring from Karlo's corpse.

"Now what?" she asked more to herself than anything. The Whisper had remained dormant since Ty's arrival.
"We get out of here." the man in question responded with a smile on his features. "Sana, Trent. We're already living on borrowed time, mind speeding this mental war up?" Ty teased, tapping an invisible watch on his wrist. Trent snarled at Flena's unlikely saviour but Sana held him by the shoulder.
"We have a job you can do for us: The bridge that connects Junta to Pol is being watched by Icies. The Hunjas were paid to make them disappear. You do that, and I'll consider not skinning both of you."
"Sana!" Trent yelled out, but Ty was already shaking her hand.
"Sounds good. C'mon, Flena. [[We're leaving." ]]
//Rite of Passage - QUEST ACQUIRED//The man in question was tall and sat proudly on his mare. A green combat jacket, brown boots, and pants made from a dark cloth adorned him.
His black afro was shaved off on the sides and his brown eyes were wells full of untold knowledge and secrets. Deep and dark but so inviting. His wellful eyes would look back at Flena every now and then.
He wore a constant smile on his features and there were small dimples in his cheeks. His demeanour agitated Flena greatly but something else within her knew he could be trusted. For how long was unknown.
What grabbed Flena's attention next was the facepaint on his right cheek: black lines intersecting, its gaps coloured red and gold circles sat around the peculiar symbol. She had no clue what it meant and didn't really want to ask.
Finally, Ty's bow was made out of brown wood with small beads looping around the string notch and recurve. Engraved metal made up the edges of the riser. The personalization of his gear traveled to his quiver which was made of leather and gold thread that looked like the same symbol on his cheek.
He was quite the character, a well-known one it seemed. Flena wondered if that made her lucky or not.

"Can't we just kill them?" Flena said loud enough for the two mercs to hear. Trent and Sana lifted their respective weapons, more than happy to put up a fight.
"Yeah? Come at us, you fucking bitch." Trent growled, already loading his crossbow. Ty shot Flena a quick look of 'stand-down', then stepped in between Trent's line of fire.
"Hey, c'mon Trent. Put that away. Now I see in your eyes there's something you don't wanna do."
"Yeah, I don't wanna leave this bitch alive!" Trent dived forward. Flena ripped her spear from Ty's back holster, about to perform the same maneuver she did on Karlo. But Ty was quicker than both, grabbing Trent and slamming him into the floor. Ty smirked, holding Trent down with his body weight.
"Ok, I get it. You're not exactly happy with Blondie right now. But trust me, you don't wanna put up a fight. Now, Sana, you seem a bit calmer. What would //you// say makes up for what our lovely Icie just did to your ex-leader?"

"What would you like, miss?"
"That hat looks ridiculous on you." Flena teased, but mirrored Stella's smile. It was far too contagious.
"Mean! I'll tell mum on you!"
"Just who might you be?" A tall woman with straight, brunette hair stood with her hands on her hips behind Flena. She wore a red, long-sleeved top with a loose belt hanging around her hips. Her pants were covered with flour and the belt had spots to hold tools and a pocket knife. The Icie pulled her mouth away from the pizza slice and sat up tall. Now where was she to go? [[Back ]]A bed and merchants but no work. This was definitely the safest option out of the three, even if she would arrive late at night. No travelling merchant would have the time nor gall to question a lone 'Icie'. But would Flena even be able to afford a bed?
Hopefully she wouldn't have to use brute force.
"I still don't know what you want from me." Flena responded, urging her horse to ride alongside Ty's. The man looked her up and down, amused at the constant frown on her features.
"Do you ever smile?" Ty asked, reaching a finger out to poke her cheek. The Icie pushed his hand away, ripping out her spear and holding it to his neck.
"Don't play games with me."
Ty lifted his hands off the reins in fake surrender. Even faced with death he still smiled. "Ok, ok. Just checking."
"Answer my question." Flena asked once more, keeping her spear in her hands.
"Yes, ma'am. I don't really //want// anything from you per se. I saw a fellow Icie and knew I had to help! Not everyone wants to stab you in the back." Ty kept his eyes on the road, realising Flena would not look him in the eyes.
"How do I know you're not lying?"
"Maybe I am, maybe I'm not. But would I put my head on the chopping block for you if I wanted you dead?"
"Who's to say you don't work for the man I killed?"
"I didn't think of that. Unlike Karlo, the bastard had it coming if you ask me." Ty then continued to talk about topics and subjects that were nowhere near the answers Flena sought.
//He is a man good at saying a lot but speaks nothing of importance// the whisper offered. Flena huffed, incapable of doing anything else but agreeing.

//'He may say something of importance. Or at least give me a better understanding of this land.'//
Ty, oblivious or uncaring for her irritation, continued talking: "Ya know, I'm amazed Sana let us go. I don't know if you were listening, but the Hanja's are a group of Deliverers paid to do some pretty dangerous things. None of them have ever liked me."
"Why is that? What are Deliverers?" Flena asked.
"You wanna know?"
"Well, if you're not going to shut up, I might as well learn more of this place and you. It'll help me decide if I'd be better off skewering you."
"Ah, of course. Guessing you don't have many friends." Flena glared at Ty, instantly regretting her choice.
"So, what did you wanna know first?"

"Ty, right?" The man in question nodded, looking down at her hunched form. For the first time since hopping on their steeds, Flena could hear the birds chirping and their horses' hooves on the dirt.
"Could you //please// shut up and get us to this bridge?" Ty pursed his lips, tempted to say something but instead urged his horse forward. Racing ahead with Flena following close behind. Even with the blissful silence, Flena felt something sink in her stomach. It was not a nice feeling.
The bridge between Junta and Pol was small and seemed untouched. A strong river underneath it had fish jumping out of the water as they made their way to whatever body of water awaited them.
Ty was already hopping off his mare and looking at something on the ground while Flena looked up at the two steep cliffs on either side of the bridge. The only things she could hear were the trees swaying and...[[a crackling noise?]]

"Do you hear that?" Flena called out to Ty, who turned his neck to eye her. The man didn't say anything, but his eyes widened when he picked up on the same crackling.
Flena went to speak again, but Ty held his pointer finger to his lips. He then aimed it to the cliff on the left side of the bridge. Ty stepped closer to Flena whispering: "I know my voice is a nuisance, but the only way to get up there is to climb. You think you'll be ok?"
Flena winced at Ty's first statement but quickly composed herself. She had no time to care for his feelings, right?
[[Climb the cliff]]"Sure. I doubt whoever is up there will be expecting us to climb." Flena and Ty checked their gear was secured tightly onto their back as they prepared to climb the cliff wall. Ty nodded in approval, already placing his foot on a foothold and propelling himself up.
"Sounds good, might not be as many fortifications as well. Could do this quietly." Ty motioned for her to follow, Flena obliged.
"Or you could talk them to death. Seems more deadly than that bow of yours." Flena teased after leaping to a handhold.
"Ouch. Someone woke up on the wrong side of the cryogenic chamber today." Flena rolled her eyes. Deciding to focus on climbing than respond to Ty.
[[Follow Ty ]]Stella pouted at Flena's quiet demeanour and tugged on her coat. The Icie walked faster and the girl began skipping after her. "What's. Your. Name." Stella said with each skip.
"You should listen to your friends, Stella. Don't talk to strangers." Flena warned, stopping momentarily to survey for any buildings that looked like lodging. The two were now in the residential section of Denia. Small houses built of stone and wood had their windows shut and curtains drawn. Their chimney's were spouting smoke and owners were bustling around inside, most likely preparing dinner.
Flena's stomach grumbled at the thought and the little girl giggled, poking Flena's leg. The Icie grumbled out a "What's so funny?" and the girl responded.
"Your tummy made a funny noise. Come with me! My mum sells food at that [[van]] over there.""Those mercs you saw? They're just a taste of professional Deliverers. There are different types, of course, all differentiated by what they sell."
"Do they sell Icies?" Flena asked, thinking back to Milo and Jackal.
"You're a quick study, yes, some do. It would've been Icie Deliverers that dragged you out of Hadrania and into the lovely Kindal Region. These kinds of Deliverers are rare, though. It's dangerous to head into that territory, but the pay is nothing to scoff at."
Flena sat with that nugget of knowledge for a bit, her mind drifting back to her original captor. "So the man I killed. He bought me. For what?"
"Havon, the horny prick, probably bought you to be one of his many conquests." Ty blew air out of his nose; he seemed to hate the man as much as Flena. But the woman had no clue what the implication meant.
"Conquests?"
Ty raised an eyebrow, looking anywhere at Flena when he finally replied, "He wanted to fuck you, Flena."
Flena shuddered, appreciating her choice even more. "Let's move on."
[[The Hanjas ]]"The Hanja's are well-known in these parts for their ruthless methods and quick results. They mainly remove any 'infestations' from the land when guards are too lazy to do their jobs." Ty slung his quiver off his shoulder, reaching into one of its pockets and pulling at a small bag of grains. He fed them to his mare as Flena spoke.
"I'm guessing these Icies we're riding to are a part of this 'infestation'?" Flena eyed the bag and Ty held it out to her but she declined. Ty rolled his eyes before leaning over his horse to put some in the mouth of Flena's mare.
His voice sounded strained when he next spoke, "Yup," he lifted himself back up, "they were probably paid collectively by the Junta Settlement. The bridge is near them. The Pol Clan would've sent me otherwise."
"If the Hunjas hate Icies so much, how're you alive?"
Ty flashed his signature grin, "Well as Trent said: Karlo and I used to cut deals to save both our hides. If anything, they owe me a few favours."
"Somehow, I doubt that." Flena murmured.
"Of course you do."
[[Deliverers? ]]
[[No more questions]] "Aw, already bored from my yammering?" Ty pouted, but his eyes held that same teasing energy.
"Just get us to the bridge so we can finish this quick." While she feigned annoyance, Flena had learned a lot thanks to the man. Sana and Trent were similar to the two men who had bought her to this crazy place.
"Yes ma'am." He saluted and urged his horse forward, the two setting a fast pace and arriving at the bridge just as the moon reached the middle of the sky.
Upon their arrival, Ty had hopped off his mare, saying he would check for tracks. But to Flena, the whole place seemed untouched. There was a river underneath the bridge and she gasped when fish jumped out of the water. Ty suppressed a laugh at the Icie and joined Flena in looking up at the two cliffs on either side of the bridge.
"I used to practice climbing on these cliffs." Ty had mentioned, pointing out the path he'd follow. Flena knew not what to say. She decided to listen for anything out of the ordinary. But all that she could hear were the trees swaying, the water under the bridge, and a fire crackling on top of the left cliffside.
//'Wait, a fire?'//
[["You hear that?"]]

[[No more questions]] The two fell into a somewhat comfortable silence. Flena was quickly learning that it wasn't easy to anger Ty, let alone scare him. In fact, the man seeemed to enjoy their bickering. Taking this moment to think, Flena could see the moon slowly falling to the west and the owls that were once hooting incessantly were being replaced with the chirps of small birds.
"It's gorgeous in these parts." Ty offered, having watched her take in their surroundings.
"I suppose." Flena tore her eyes away from a particular patch of flowers, feeling what others called embarrassment wash over her.
"Are you always gonna be this cryptic?"
"You won't be around long enough to know." Flena stated, trying not to smirk at Ty's pout.
"Thought you were starting to enjoy my company!"
"You thought wrong." Silence enveloped them again, but as always, Ty found something to talk about.
"So, what're you gonna name your horse?"
"Nothing, it won't need a name." Flena pulled on the reigns a little harder, the horse neighing in response.
"Oh c'mon, Flena. Every horse needs a name, this beauty here is Via. Had her for what feels like forever." Ty patted Via's mane, the mare obviously meant a lot to him.
[[Name your horse]]
[[How long is 'forever' exactly?]]Flena felt something warm at the sight and looked down at her own steed. //'I guess it wouldn't hurt.'// she pondered.
"If it'll keep you quiet, I'll give them a name."
Ty opened his mouth in shock, looking like a kid at a candy store. "Yes! It'll help your bond, trust me."
"I don't even know what I'd call it."
"Just chuck letters together until it sounds cool. That seems to be how everything is named around here." Ty offered with a laugh.
"'Ty' doesn't exactly sound cool." Flena had said it without thinking, it seemed Ty was rubbing off on her already.
"Ouch! I wish I could say 'Flena' sounds terrible, but it's the most interesting ghost name I've heard."
"Ghost name?" That was another answer she'd have to seek through this mystery man.
"Just pick a name!"
Ty paused, taking a little bit too long to respond as he hummed in thought. "About 4 months. Pretty long for an Icie. The shelf date can range from two weeks to usually a month." Flena looked at Ty in shock, this guy really was an enigma.
[["How've you lasted so long?]]
[["Then why go after these Icies if they won't be around for long?"]] Flena sat in thought for a while, Ty keeping a watchful eye on her slightly swaying form. "Cal." She whispered, her eyes were unable to stay on the blurring images. Ty's brown eyes were leaving her the most disoriented.
"That's an interesting name." His voice was fading in and out. Flena couldn't help but fall forward as the darkness took her. The arms of sleep cradling her as Ty called out [[trying to keep her awake.]]

The two ascended the rest of the cliff with minimal issues. Ty would let her know when specific ridges were sharp or unsteady. Flena responding with either a huff of exertion or a 'got it.' "Nice climbing, Flena."

"//Right//. C'mon, I can hear talking. Maybe we can figure out why they're here." The two cautiously crouch walked to a set of bushes closer to the crackling fire. Flena remained stumped on Ty's statement, "We know why they're here already, remember?"

Flena ripped her arm free from Ty's grip and stepped out of the bushes, alerting the two Icies. "What the fuck?!" Hofna cried out, pulling out a small hunting knife. "I told you, Lina! We should've moved along."
Lina pushed the knife down, "Shut up. Can't you see she's like us? What's your name? Mine is Lina, and this is Hofna. Please, don't be scared."
Flena pulled out her spear, glaring at the two Icies. "I'm not afraid of either of you."
"She's got more balls than you, Hofna." Lina teased, Hofna shot her a pointed look. Flena cut in before the man could fire back.
"We're not here to be your friends either."
"We?" Line echoed and, on cue, Ty emerged from the bushes yelling at Flena.
"What're you doing? Put your spear away!"
The Icie didn't turn to face him but stepped closer to the two Icies who were slowly stepping back. "The Hunjas have sent us to finish their job for them."

Ty held his hands up in surrender, and Flena begrudgingly did the same. "Please, calm down. My name is Ty, and this is my friend Flena. We're Icies just like you. We're here to help."
"Help? How do you even know we're Icies, huh?" Hofna questioned, the Icie named Lina butted in, yelling at her companion. "Hofna! I'm sorry about him, we're all on edge. I am Lina. What do you want from us?"
Ty smiled and slowly approaching the campfire, "It's ok, we understand. There's a settlement not too far from here, a place that protects Icies. We can take you there and get you settled." The two Icies seemed happy at the prospect, but Lina looked at Flena, her face etched with annoyance. "Your friend doesn't seem convinced, Ty."
Ty sighed in defeat, more disappointed in himself for thinking she'd play along. "Flena is just as scared as you are. She hasn't been awake for long and has already got people on her tail. You don't have to trust us, but Hofna is right: if you stay here, they //will// find you." Before Flena could reassure them that she wasn't scared, Ty reached his hand under the neck of his jacket and pulled out the end of a necklace. Flena flipped her spear in her hand and hit Ty in the head with the butt of it. Disoriented, Ty attempted to reach for his hunting knife but was kneeled in the gut by Flena.
The Icie turned to the tent and began to walk towards it but was tackled by Hofna. Winded, Flena almost didn't catch Hofna's hand that was pushing the knife towards her ribcage. The two struggled back and forth, the blade piercing Flena's skin and causing her to cry out in pain.
Hofna was much stronger than her but his Phantom made him clumsy; his skin was sweaty, his breathing was ragged. Flena wrapped a free leg around one of his and tried to twist herself on top.
While she was successful in rolling on top, Hofna had been able to lodge his blade into her lower abdomen. Flena cried in pain but had enough sense to hold her spear above his head.
Right as she was going to kill him, an arrow whistled through the air, just missing Flena's head. The Icie whipped her head and saw Ty standing tall with his bow in hand, another arrow aimed right at her. His forehead was bleeding, "Get off him, Flena! Or I'll put an arrow in your head."

Flena eyed Ty for a few moments longer before putting her spear back in its sheath. She hadn't even realised she was shaking. The two outlawed Icies visibly relaxed, Lina turned to Hofna and attempted to calm him as they bickered. "I swear, Ty. I will kill you if this backfires."
Ty shook his head, agitated at his unlikely companion. "It won't!" He assured, then he slowly approached Lina and Hofna. He crouched on the grass in front of them, "Lina and Hofna, right? There's a settlement not too far from here that welcomes Icies. Let us take you there, and we won't tell the Hunjas anything."
"We can't trust them, Lina." Hofna warned, still glaring at Flena. The Icie had spotted movement inside the tent. A small head popped out, and the young girl gasped before diving back inside. Flena sighed, crossing her arms over her chest.
"Hofna is right. Why should we trust you? Your friend was just about to kill us." Lina rubbed Hofna's back as she spoke.
"Flena is just as scared as you are. She hasn't been awake for long and has already got people on her tail. You don't have to trust us, but Hofna is right: if you stay here, they //will// find you." Ty and Flena scaled back down the cliff in silence, only talking once they started riding their horses to the mouth of the cliff. "You are insane," Flena stated, perplexed by his willingness to help them.
"And you are too quick to distrust. Sometimes talking can lead to better outcomes." Ty fired back, just as agitated by her predispositions.
"You keep saying you're an Icie but walk these lands as nothing can touch you."
"That's because I've offered my heart, not my fists, Flena. The Pol Clan has granted me immunity because of that." Ty explained, showing Flena the same charm on his necklace. //He's right. You have to be careful with your actions.// the Whisper always came back at the most annoying times.
"I fight to survive." Flena said defensively, to both Ty and the voice living within her.
"We all do. C'mon, we need to get to Vulic before the sun rises."
"How far is Vulic?" Flena asked, guiding her steed up by the reigns.
"About 3 miles out. Should be a quick trip if the guards aren't patrolling." The two tied their horses to a tree and walked the rest of the way back to [[camp]]. "By offering the clans my help. When I was awoken I didn't go all comatose like you. I was already wide awake. The Pol Clan in particular took me in as their own." Ty's tone had shifted from its playful nature to something serious, it wa offputting to Flena who was surprised at his experience.
"So you didn't feel that...what did Karlo call it? A phantom?" That rage, that fire that consumed Flena when she killed Havon and Karlo was absent for Ty. It was hard for her to swallow.
"Nope, never had one. It's gotta give you hope that maybe there's a cure to all this. That Icies and humans can live together." Ty smiled brightly, he knew how to flip the switch quick.
"Sounds impossible." Flena huffed, looking up at the disappearing stars.
"To a stubborn Icie like you, sure. But I won't give up." Ty also gazed at the sky and Flena realized the man was adamant on safeguarding Icies like her. //Was it for his own gain?// the whisper seemed suspicious of Ty as well."That's not the point, Flena. The fact that they've escaped scares the townspeople. One thing that hasn't changed is the fear of outsiders or things out of our control."
"So they just kill them?" Flena felt sick at the thought, but then again, her hands weren't the cleanest either.
"Apparently it's either that or being a slave. It's easier than rehabilitation or giving them a chance to live their lives, no matter how short."
Flena chewed on the inside of her cheek, "I'd rather be dead than some asshole's slave."
Ty nodded solemnly, "You and me both. Anyway, enough of the depressing talk. Don't dodge naming your horse! Pick a name!"

"Ghost name?" That was another answer she'd have to seek through this mystery man.
"Just pick a name!"
"We can't stay here forever, Lina. I saw a band of Deliverers ride by earlier." A male voice spoke frightfully. When the two finally got a look at him, his shivering body confirmed their suspicions.
The woman he was speaking to, Lina, seemed much calmer. She had black, long hair, and her thin hands were sewing the sole of a shoe back on. "Where else can we go, Hofna? June killed them both! We have to stick together, and moving would leave us open."
"She had all the right! They were going to kill her!" Ty looked over at Flena, raising his eyebrows as if to say 'I told you so.' Flena ignored his looks, remaining focused on the conversation in front of them.
Hofna had lifted himself and was now standing with his hands out towards the flames. There was a fresh scar on his left cheek and his eyes were a soft green. "You think anyone else cares about that? We're monsters to all these bastards. Fuck, fuck, fuck!"
"Calm down! We can't give away where we are." Lina tried to quiet Hofna, abandoning her sewing and placing a hand on his shoulder. The two were harder to hear now, and Flena was getting impatient in the bushes. "How long are we going to sit here?"
"They were attacked, Flena. We should help them." Ty whispered back.
"You're not serious. The Hunjas will kill //us// remember?"
"Please, Flena." Ty gripped Flena's arm, the Icie had half a mind to rip free of his grasp. But the desperation in his voice stilled her. The Whisper seemed to agree with Ty. What did she want to do?
[[Step out]]
[[Stay with Ty]]Flena lifted her spear over Hofna's head, but she never got to drop it into his face. Ty's arrow had lodged itself in her skull. She was asleep once more, deeper in the void than she had been before those men had found her.

Ty smiled at the three Icies before them: Hofna and Lina were tying bags onto their horse's backs while a young girl with strawberry blonde hair sat proudly on Hofna's horse. "C'mon Hof, adventure awaits!"
Hofna playfully pushed the little girl's leg away from him and chuckled when she almost toppled off. "Calm down, June. You'll frighten the horse, and she'll kick you off."
"Nah!" June said, sticking her tongue out at the tall Icie.
"Yeah!" Hofna responded, sticking out his tongue and crossing his eyes, making June giggle. The young Icie then lifted her head and gasped at Flena and Ty. Ty waved at her, and June waved back cautiously, "Did you guys need us to carry anything? We've got plenty of room." He asked.
Lina walked over with her horse in tow, a soft smile on her thin face, "Thank you, but we'll be fine." Now that the sun was out, Flena could take in the faces of the Icies the Hunjas wanted dead.
Lina was just as thin, if not thinner than Flena. She had black, long hair on the left side of her head, and the right shaved off.
It weirdly comforted Flena to know she was not alone in that. Even June and Hofna had at least some hair missing.
Hofna had a long gash on his left cheek that traveled to his temple, and dark markings littered his left arm. The other covered in a wolfskin shawl. June was short with spindly legs and a big smile on her freckled face. Her teeth were wonky but gave her charm. The three Icies were a [[family]].The two ascended the rest of the cliff with minimal issues. Ty would let her know when specific ridges were sharp or unsteady. Flena responding with either a huff of exertion or a 'got it.' Ty pulled himself up and over the cliff ledge, watching Flena climb the last leg before offering his hand to her.
"Nice climbing, Flena."

Flena latched on to Ty's forearm and easily lifted her up and over the cliffside. He seemed pleased she had trusted him, "See? Teamwork never hurt anybody."
"Don't read into it too much. Take it as an apology for earlier." Flena admitted as she wiped her sweaty palms on her pants legs. Ty laughed softly.
"//Right//. C'mon, I can hear talking. Maybe we can figure out why they're here." The two cautiously crouch walked to a set of bushes closer to the crackling fire. Flena remained stumped on Ty's statement, "We know why they're here already, remember?"
Ty frowned at Flena while pushing aside some branches, "We only know half the story, Flena. You should be the last person being so quick to judge." Ty motioned for her to join him behind some bushes, beyond them were [[two voices talking faintly.]]

"You're one stubborn Icie." Ty pursed his lips together, pocketing his extended hand into his jacket pocket.
"Thank you." Flena wiped the sweat off her hands and shot Ty a proud smirk.

Ty and Flena scaled back down the cliff in silence, both trying to figure out what to say to one another. Flena had no problem knowing what she wanted to say as she hopped onto her horse: "You are insane."
Ty gritted his teeth, "And you are too bloodthirsty."
"I didn't attack them, though."
"But you would've to save your hide. Sometimes talking can lead to better outcomes and Icies need to stick together, Flena." Ty scolded, somehow keeping his cool. Meanwhile, Flena acted like a child and mumbled, "You act nothing like one."
"And you are too much like the stereotype." Ty berated as he hopped onto his mare. Pushing their horses forward, the two said nothing as they trodded back to the opening of the large hill. Guiding their steeds up by the reigns, Flena asked, "How far away is this settlement?"
"Vulic is about 3 miles out. We should get there before any guards start their patrols."
"That symbol on your necklace, what was it?"
"It's a symbol of my immunity. Anyone under my protection has it too. So that means these Icies are off-limits. Understand?" Ty scolded, shooting her another sour look.
Flena nodded, not in the mood to get yelled at again as they arrived back at [[camp ]].//RELATIONSHIP: TY ^//
Not wanting to deal with Ty's venomous glare anymore, Flena took June's hand. Both of their palms were freezing. "I'm Flena," June giggled at the older Icie, and Flena pursed her lips. "What's so funny?"
"You're supposed to shake your hand when someone offers theirs." The girl proceeded to show with her own hands, joining them then shaking them vigorously.
Flena felt heat enter her cheeks, "I knew that." She said proudly, rubbing the back of her neck and looking away from the girl peering up at her incredulously.
June giggled once more then ran back over to Hofna who was watching them with a smirk on his face. "Sure, you did. C'mon Hof. I wanna go!"
"Alright, alright, hop on June." The man lifted June onto the horse then joined her, holding the reins and guiding the mare towards [[the bottom of the hill.]]

Flena stared at June's hand, not wanting to say more than necessary. "Sorry, June. I think her manners have disappeared." Ty reprimanded, still glaring at Flena.
The woman rolled her eyes, and begrudgingly took June's small hand, "I'm Flena." June giggled again, shaking her hand.
"When someone offers their, hand you shake it, silly." The girl proceeded to show with her own hands, joining them then shaking them vigorously.
Flena, stoic as ever, gave her a dry look. "I'll keep that in mind."
"Ok, I think we're good to go!" Hofna called out to June who bounded back to the Icie with a beaming smile.
"We'll wait for you at the bottom, c'mon Flena." Ty stated, shooting another glare at Flena as the two walked down in silence. The Icie had not been awake too long, but she could tell her behavior was annoying him. //[['Not that I care.']]//

"Of course. We are ready to depart when you are." Ty motioned to Flena, she had been standing a while away from the spectacle. Flena watched three small birds with green feathers rubbing their beaks on each other's bodies.
June snapped her out of her reverie and tugged on Flena's crossed elbow. The woman jumped back, hand instinctively going for her spear. "What?" She spat out, quickly fixing herself into a neutral stance when she felt Ty's eyes on her.
June just giggled, finding her jumpiness funny. "Who're you?" the girl asked, holding out her hand, "I'm June! Lina and Hofna said you're going to get us somewhere safe, right?"
[["I'm Flena."]]
[[Say nothing]]When Hofna, June, and Lina arrived they began the ride to Vulic. The three newcomers were excited and talked with Ty, asking him what it was like there.
The man was more than happy to divulge. He explained that it's run by Icies and humans alike. Everyone was welcoming, and there were people of all ages and races, so they'd be more than likely to fit in. Flena's voice remained absent from the conversation. She took note of the trees that were stripped of their bark unlike the blooming fruit trees back near the bridge.
Flena guessed the trees were like this for bedding and kindling for the campfires that littered the road they traveled on.
Ty had caught on to her interest and mentioned, "They're good places to rest and fix on your gear. No one person owns them, so you're usually good to take a break there." As quickly as he spoke to her, he turned his attention back to the others.
While Lina and Hofna happily ignored her, June was proving to be a lot like Ty: too carefree and curious for [[their own good.]] While the others spoke amongst themselves, June had taken it upon herself to make Flena feel included. Not that the Icie wanted to be. So, the questions were endless and jumped from topic to topic.
"How long have you been awake, Flena?"
"Two days."
"Aren't you excited to get to Vulic?"
"No, why should I be?"
And, when Flena would respond in a way June wasn't expecting, the young Icie would say, "You're funny, Flena."
Flena, not understanding that 'funny' could also mean 'weird' would shrug her shoulders, "Not trying to be."
Although June could talk the ears off of a rock, Flena couldn't deny the small smile forming on her face each time June giggled. She was growing on her, not that Flena would admit it. The young Icie was also perceptive, procuring an apple from one of the bags on their horses back and throwing it at Flena, who caught it.
"You look hungry, Flena!" She reasoned, motioning for her to take a bite.
"June!" Hofna scolded, reaching back and closing the bag before anything else fell out.
"What? She does!" June was right; Flena was starving. Out of character, the Icie thanked June before taking a bite into the apples red skin. Hofna stared slackjawed at Flena's sudden politeness. Meanwhile, the apple had awakened Flena's [[senses]].
(set: $inv to $inv + (a: "apple")) Flena was thirsty, that drink the bartender had given her had irritated her throat. She was amazed she could still talk properly. Her hands, one on the reins and one around the apple, felt coarse and dirty. On closer inspection, she could see dried blood and dirt caked under her fingernails. Her undershirt was stained red in Karlo's blood, and for the first time since awakening, she considered what her appearance had said to others.
'Icie.'
'No emotions.'
'Dangerous.'
It's what Jackal had called her. //'Is this what we'll always be?'// She thought, looking over to June. //'She seems nothing like that.'//
"What's wrong, Flena?" Flena jumped at the voice, whipping her head to see Ty. He had sidled up to her with a worried look. Flena let out a breath she didn't know she was holding. Then, looked between Ty and the other Icies, something akin to worry swam in her gut.

"I just wanted to apologize for my actions, mainly towards you, Hofna. I scared you all. I do not want to make enemies out of those who've do no wrong by me. The Hunjas, those people who bought me here...they deserve my spear."
Silence blanketed the Icies and Flena shuffled awkwardly on her mare. //'Why aren't they saying anything?'//
"June, is that apple poisoned?" Ty asked and Flena shot him a glare, the man raised his hands up in mock surrender. Just as Flena was about to bite back at him, Hofna spoke.
"I forgive you. I think we have all done things we wish we did not." Hofna then smiled and held out his hand for Flena to take. Flena smiled back, shaking his hand.
"You did it right this time!" June exclaimed happily. Flena chuckled, another sight that surprised Ty who was still [[riding]] next to her."You say you want to help Icies. I'm guessing that means you know a lot about them?" Flena asked.
"You could say that, yes. Why?"
"Well, just what are we exactly? How did we //become// Icies?"
Ty pursed his lips, scratching the back of his neck, "Well, about ten years ago, the world was overrun by Droids: Humans with cybernetic enhancements. Icies? We're the failed Droids. Chucked in those cryogenic chambers while we recovered from the tests."
"Tests?" Lina piped up. It seemed the other Icies were just as curious as Flena.
"The enhancements were personalised for each person. So the tests were necessary to see how we'd cope. If you couldn't... well." The five went quiet, trying not to think too hard on it.
"More questions!" June said enthusiastically, jumping up and down on her spot on Hofna's horse.

From their spot lying on the muddy earth, the group could easily hear the three guards talking. Two had remained on their mares, a few metres away from the Icies, taking in the land. The other was attempting to light the basic campfire. As the guard struck a match on the heel of his shoe, he spoke, "I can't believe he's gone. No less murdered by some scrawny Icie." He then blew softly on the growing flame that wove its fingers around the wood.
"He underestimated her, Etran. A lot of people still don't understand how strong they are. We just gotta make sure she doesn't get the upper hand on us." One of the guards on their horse spoke; he was short and stubby. Ty whispered that they should've given him a pony instead. Flena elbowed him to be quiet.
The guard named Etran looked up to the sky, mulling over their task. "To be put this far out of town...She's gotta be pretty dangerous, right?"
Finally, the last guard spoke, his horse and his stance reminiscent of large statues made in honour of some war hero. "For all, we know she could've already torn her eyes out. Just don't forget the description: Blonde with half her head shaved, about 5'5, blue eyes and carrying Havon's spear."
Stubby rolled his eyes, seems War Hero was always serious, "If we see her, we kill on sight - right?" Etran asked.
War Hero shook his head. Then swung a leg off his mare, "No. See if you can incapacitate her. [[Chief Josiah]] wants a few words with her before she dies.""They're voices of our past selves. The last thing we seem to all cling onto. It's rare for any Icie to ever get well acquainted with their Whisper. But they can act as that gut feeling, guiding us to a place safer than where ever we are."
Flena recalled the voices past advice: it had told her to keep moving, it had given her strength to fight Havon and Karlo. It had even vouched for the man riding next to her. While the Whisper could be mysterious in its desire to protect her, it hadn't done her wrong so far.
"They don't always talk though." Flena countered.
"No. Maybe it's because they can't get through to us? Our conscience would be much louder than a whisper from the past." That made sense, did she want to hear that voice anyway?

"You said my name was interesting for a 'Ghost Name'?" Flena recalled when the two had first met back at the bar in Boma. He had said it in passing, but it had confused the Icie.
"The Whisper in your head? That name Icies. But it's never their real name. It's rare anyone ever figures that out. Hence, 'Ghost Name.' "I'm not sure why they happen. A lot of people think it stems from the tests done on us. Droids are emotionless beings with no memories as well. The main difference is we don't last as long and don't kill everything we see." Ty explained.
"But if Icies aren't like Droids, why are they treated so terribly?" Flena probed, remembering how Havon had touched her before she murdered him. //His death was necessary// the Whisper reassured. Flena didn't need to hear it; she already knew that.
"Put it down to paranoia and hatred for things and people that aren't like the rest. Those feelings and actions have been happening for centuries. Not the first time slavery has been a staple in society." A solemn silence blanketed the five Icies, and Ty took this as a chance to change the topic.
"Some Phantoms come from our fight or flight mechanism. Others are from things deep within us. The more you feel and see, the more likely you are to have one."
"Can they be stopped?" As powerful as they made her, Flena felt sick each time she had one. It was like her body was inhabited by something bigger than her. When it left, it made her feel empty and weak.
Ty shook his head, understanding her concern. "No, but they can be delayed. We've got some medication that controls them for a little. But you can't keep them down forever." Flena sighed, guess she'd have to get used to them.

[[Phantoms ]]"What's happening?" Flena asked weakly, her body had stopped shaking, but now she felt frozen in place. She could hear the guards calling out to them, goading them to 'Come out and beg for mercy!'
Ty was back in Flena's view, a hand on her cheek and smiling at her. "Hey, glad to have you back. We don't have time to talk. Those guards are coming to say 'hi'. What's say we give them a warm welcome?" Flena nodded, feeling nauseous when she did. "Can you stand?"
"I think so." She said, her voice still coming back to her. Then she lifted her form off the floor. Ty tried not to chuckle. She looked like a fawn, wobbling and holding onto a tree for support. Ty kept his arms outstretched in case he needed to support her. Flena waved him off and pulled out her spear.
"I'm ready."
"Good, then let's go. [[Don't hold back.]]"The men then changed the topic. Now discussing their wives or husbands and the feast going on tonight. By now, Flena had tuned out, lost in her head. A distant voice had been calling out to her as the guards had spoken. "Ok, everyone, once they move past, we can be off on our way." Ty whispered, oblivious to Flena's current situation.
Then a deep voice called out to Flena, the Icie whipped her head left and right, looking for the source. Then, a wave of heat washed over her lying form, body shaking and bright colours invaded her periphery. //Flena. Flena. Flena.// the voice repeated, it was a man's voice, nothing like the usual Whisper in her head. //Flena! FLENA!// the voice was a howl now, crying and screaming at Flena who clamped her hands over her ears, trying to block the voice out.
The colours were so bright and swamped her vision, her ears felt clogged with water and she squeezed her eyes shut. A flash of blue under her eyelids. Then, Flena was face to face with a man. He was tall with deep blue eyes and a smile on his face. His voice was soft and she felt at peace.
A flash of red engulfed her, and the man is now gripping her shoulders. There's blood running down a cut on his forehead. //Run! Run, Flena! RUN RUN RUN.// He screeched, then he continued screaming her name [[like a mantra.]][[Phantoms ]]

The men had already drawn their swords when the two emerged from the shrubbery. War Horse was on the left, standing proudly with his sword in hand. The curved blade glinted in the sunlight. "You speak of the Devil, and he shall appear. This time in a scrawny Icie. You killed our boss." War Horse spat on the ground and pointed the blade at Flena, "That makes your grave much more rewarding to fill."
Stubby stood in between his two comrades, nodding feverishly and ripping his sword from its holster. "Wish we had the honour of slitting your throat, bitch. But Chief Josiah wants to have his fun." Flena tightened her fist, feeling that telltale wave of rage seating itself in her lungs. Each breath felt hot and dizzied her senses. The spear in her free hand was poised to stab Stubby.
"Not sure if you guys understand just how dangerous she is. Trust me; I watched her decapitate a guy. //Schwing//! And his head was on the bar top." Ty, ever the conversationalist, piped up while prepping an arrow to fire.
"Enough! If you're going to fight us, let's get this over with." Flena rebuked, the Phantom had its hands around her throat, its heat was getting unbearable.
[["Let's dance, Icie."]] Stubby said and Flena dived right for him.Everyone perked their ears, trying to hear the sound that had spooked Lina. The trees were swaying and frogs were croaking. Voices?
"Shit, a guard patrol up ahead. Quick, turn your horses into the trees here and get low on the ground." Ty ordered, and the five quickly turned their horses down a small path. While the trees in the area had no leaves, tall bushes were growing in and around them. Perfect cover.
The voices ahead of them grew closer, and soon, three guards appeared on their steeds. The guards were dressed in dark blue cloths with grey armour on top. The armour had gold etchings on the chest and shoulder plates. They were currently laughing about something, and Flena widened her eyes when she heard them [[describe]] her.Flena rushed forward, aiming her spear at Stubby's jugular. The man sidestepped and nicked her in the arm, deepening one of the still bleeding wounds on her arms. Flena howled, the colours in her eyes as vibrant as ever.
She turned back to him and growled, throwing the spear into his thigh. Stubby cried out, but it was muffled as Flena grabbed him by the head and snapped his neck. "Ivan!" Etran shouted in anguish, Ty shot an arrow into his torso, and the guard keeled over in pain.
Meanwhile, Flena felt her Phantom fading: the colours were no longer pulsing, and her body felt lethargic. "Flena, look out!" Ty warned but the Icie couldn't hear him. The wounds on her body and tired mind were catching up to her.
Behind her, War Horse had his blade raised and heading down to Flena's head. Turning sluggishly, Flena closed her eyes and waited for darkness to take her once more.
Two arrows flew through the air quickly after each other, one lodging itself in War Horse's neck and the other in his knee. He toppled over with a gurgle. His blood leaving both entry points and the blade falling away from its potential victim. Flena opened her eyes and gaped at War Horse's twitching body. He was trying to say something but soon died.
"Flena! Flena, come back to me." Ty was by her side once more, shaking her. Flena shrugged him off and turned to face [[Etran]], who was now sobbing over his injury and dead friends. "You're both dead! You hear me?! Ivan...Fon...Fuck, fuck I don't wanna die." Etran was a blubbering mess;, swearing curses at the two before crying in pain and fear. Flena dislodged her spear from Ivan's knee and aimed it at Etran's heart. "M-Make it quick. Please. Fuck you both, fuck, fuck, fuck."
//He is not a threat, don't kill him.// That damn Whisper was back.

"Enjoy your darkness." Flena offered before stabbing him in the chest and twisting the blade. Etran let out a strangled noise and looked down at his broken armour and the blood leaving him. He showed a bloody smile then passed. The Whisper went silent, angry at the Icie it resided within.
"We got them! Good work, Flena." Ty patted Flena on the back and she was too tired to shrug him off like she usually would. Instead, she focused on keeping her feet on solid ground. Her world felt like a tightrope, and she was struggling to not plummet to the earth. "Yeah." She agreed weakly as her knees gave out and she fell forward.
Ty leaped forward and caught Flena by her torso, slowly helping her weak body sit on the dirt. "Whoa, hold on. I got you." The man took off his quiver and set his bow on the ground, looking for something in one of the pouches on his quiver.
"How did this happen? What //was// that, Ty?" Flena croaked, her throat was dry, and her vision was littered with black, floating dots. Ty turned back to her with a white roll of fabric, a bottle of liquid, and a small bag of safety pins. "A Phantom, the stronger kind." Flena let her spear hang limply by her side. The Whisper thanked Flena //'I didn't do it for you.'// she retorted.
"Hah. Do you think letting me live will save you? You are like Ivan said: a crazy bit- //urk//." Flena lifted her head in shock. Etran's forehead now had an arrow in it. His eyes were glazing over, but still wide in surprise.
Ty huffed and ripped the arrow out of the guard's head. "Rest in peace." Ty lamented before turning to the other dead guards and grabbing his arrows.
"Why did you do that?" Flena asked weakly, trying not to fall over but Ty walking around her made Flena's head spin even more.
"He's too close to Vulic, Flena. I don't know why you hesitated." Ty stated, confusion written on his features.
Flena wasn't going to admit that she listened to her Whisper, falling to her usual tactic of deflection. Besides, her head was aching too much to explain herself, "You told me sometimes talking can lead to better outcomes."
"You've got the Chief of Trina after you. Small talk and deals won't cut it with them."

Flena came to in a soft bed with the blue covers pulled up to her chest. Turning her head from side to side elicited a soft crack and a view of the room she was in. The ceiling was a culmination of brown tarps held up by a wooden pole in the middle of the room, cabinets and drawers were surrounding Flena and next to the bed was an extendable table with scissors, gauzes and other utensils.
Flena sat up on her elbows, wiping her eyes of sleep and letting out a yawn. She tensed in pain and looked at her arms. They were covered in bandages and she could see some blood soaked up by them.
They weren't the ones Ty had put on her and she acknowledged how clean her nails were. Someone had taken care of her while she was out. "Ty?" she croaked out, swinging her legs off the bed and ignoring the pins and needles in them.
The person that answered her call was a woman shaped like a vase, her chiton was a deep blue and her green eyes widened at the Icie. Her skin reminded Flena of a sunrise or sunset, that brown that kisses the night sky goodbye before its painted blue. "Whoa, slow down. You need more rest." the woman tutted, pressing a palm to one of Flena's shoulders. The Icie winced in pain.
[["Where is, Ty?"]] She asked, deciding to lie back down instead of argue with the woman.
(set: $inv to $inv - (a: "spear")) Cassia hummed in thought, now cleaning Flena's scratch wounds with a cloth. "Ever since I met Ty, the man has been like a workhorse. I'm not too sure what drives him, but you can see it in his eyes. He regrets something he did. This might be redemption for him."
Flena chewed on the notion, agitated at the idea of being helped for his own benefit. "So, we're saved to help his ego?"
Cassia laughed and pushed the cloth a little harder on one of Flena's deeper wounds. Flena hissed in response. "Don't be so crude, Flena. I'm sure there is much more depth to this path he has chosen. He //is// an Icie after all. Maybe he wants to help his kind. Is that so bad? You must know how badly Icies are treated or you wouldn't have a target on your back."
Flena's mind catapulted back to Trina. To Havon. "I do."
"Wouldn't you want to save others from that if you could?" Cassia prodded, now redressing her arms.
"Depends."
"He wasn't kidding when he said you're stubborn. But I can already tell your answer just by looking at you." Flena went silent after Cassia said that. //'She's wrong.'// Or that's what Flena wanted to believe.
[[How long has he been awake? ]]Cassia hummed in thought, now cleaning Flena's scratch wounds with a cloth. "About four months. But I've only know him for two. I still remember how kind he was to my son, played with him all the time. He'd bring those in isolated areas food and give me Icies to take care of. Then one day, he told me he'd found a better place for us...We've been here ever since."
Flena widened her eyes in surprise, a wave of soemthing humans would know as respect washed over her. "So, you're not an Icie?" The answer was already obvious: no shaved head, no half-dead eyes and the fact she had a child all pointed to Cassia's response.
"No. But someone I cared for deeply was. I-I miss her every day. But that's besides the point. I'm here to help all of those in Vulic. We're a family, Flena." Flena nodded, a stone sat in her gut. She felt bad for the kind woman.
"Aren't you at risk here?"
Cassia smiled brightly, redressing Flena's arms. "You're worried about me? That's sweet of you. But I'm not just a pretty face, sweetheart. I can take care of myself. And its worth it if one of them gets to live a life as a person. Not some slave." Flena nodded in agreement, not knowing what else to say.
[[Just what does he want? ]]
Finally done with Flena's arms, Cassia began putting away the utensils on the extendable table as she responded.
Cassia laughed, closing the cabinet she had procured the medicine and bandages from. "Don't be so crude, Flena. I'm sure there is much more depth to this path he has chosen. "Now c'mon, let's get you some proper [[clothes]].""Flena!" It was Ty, restraining her hands that were covered in fresh blood.
"No!" Flena cried out in pain, tears running down her cheeks and body convulsing as Ty tried to keep her still. "Flena, stay with me! Please!" Flena saw his face turn away from hers as he spoke to Lina, "Lina! Take your horses and head North from here. There's a big pond. Once you reach it, turn left. You'll get to Vulic before you know it."
"We can't just leave you both!" a voice that sounded like June's argued.
"We're tough, say Ty sent you. Now go!" Flena faintly heard footsteps racing away, followed by horse hooves on dirt.
Flena could feel her body slowing. That same lethargy from her last Phantom washed over her. Slowly coming to, Flena could see deep gashes on her arms. [[Did she do that?]]Flena looked down at her ensemble and tried not to convulse at the sight. "T-Thank you." Flena mumbled, trying to keep her embarrassment at bay.
"Well, because you were so nice, I'll give you the best gear. Now Ty's clothing is a bit more //modern//. But this should get you going and keep you safe. Keep the bag; you can use it to store your weapons, gear, and medicines." Cassia joined Flena on the edge of the bed, placing a tan-coloured duffel bag on it.
Flena looked up at Cassia for confirmation then opened up the bag. Inside was her spear and underneath an assortment of clothes and a holster for her spear.
"I'll let you get changed. Ty should almost be done. I'll get him to come and see you. Nice meeting you, Flena." Cassia bid her goodbyes and left Flena [[alone]] in the tent.

The Icie took no time putting on her clothes and fastened the thigh holster to her right leg. Cassia had given Flena almost-black coloured pants made out of soft cotton. "A bit itchy." Flena noted. Her top was a sleeveless halter neck made of white-grey wolf fur. She tried not to sneeze at the material. Flena hoped it wouldn't constantly irritate her.
On her left arm was a bright blue armband. It bulged where her bandages were, but otherwise it fitted like a glove. On her right elbow, she slipped on a smaller band of the same colour. Her black boots had blue laces that matched the same weavings on her thigh holster and the duffel bag that she put over her head. She was struggling to tighten it to her chest when Ty walked in.
"You're awake! Whoa, nice outfit. Now you don't look like a murderer." Ty quipped and Flena rolled her eyes.

"Um, did you just thank me? Cassia really is a miracle worker." Ty grinned, his eyes crinkling a little at Flena's small, albeit wonky, smile.
"Try not to faint at the apology I'm about to give you then." Flena joked though felt something close to nerves settle in her tummy as she finally tightened the strap on the duffle bag.
"Apology? For what?" Ty stepped closer, looking worried. For once, Flena did not step back and looked him in the eyes.
"I want to apologise for how I've treated you and your kindness. For the things, I've said and not said. While I still don't fully understand your intentions, you've helped me more than anyone else. The Hunjas wanted to get a quick buck. Those guards were more than happy to kill me...but you." Flena sat in thought on what to say next.
"You have done nothing but kept me alive. You saved my life from that guard...So, //thank you//. Again." Flena had kept her eyes on Ty; watching his expression change from surprise to something she couldn't quite name yet. It was soft and it made Flena's ears tint. "Say something." She ordered and Ty snapped out of his reverie.
"Sorry. I just can't believe you said all that." Ty admitted, putting his hands in his pockets and gesturing with his shoulder to [[follow him]] out of the tent.

"Glad to see you didn't lose that charm of yours." Ty goaded, laughing when Flena attempted to kick his shin.
"Fine, guess I won't apologise to you then." Flena huffed, wearing a wonky pout on her face.

"I can take it back if you'd like?" Flena offered and followed, smirking when Ty feverishly shook his head.
"No! No take-backsies."
The two walked through Vulic. The small settlement was occupied by many Icies who were either skinning meat, training, talking, or tending to the garden patches that ran throughout Vulic. //It's beautiful.// The Whisper cooed, and a warm feeling blanketed Flena.
Ty waved at some of the Icies, and Flena smiled when she saw June, Hofna, and Lina attending to one of the garden patches. "I can't stay here. These people don't need Trina all over them." She said suddenly.
Ty looked down at Flena and then to the sky; he seemed proud of her. "I'm glad you realise that. And you somewhat trusting me will make the next part of this journey easier."
"How so?" Flena looked up at the elusive man, arching an eyebrow.
"Well, the only way you're going to survive out here is if we get you immunity from one of the other major clans."
"I'm guessing we can't just ask them for it."
Ty laughed, "Nope, but if we do some jobs for them and build rapport you'll snag yourself one of these." He dug out the same necklace and charm he showed Lina and Hofna when they first met. Flena getting a proper view of the weird symbol.
"Where do we start?" She asked as he put the necklace away. Ty stopped walking and Flena turned, silently asking him [['what's wrong?']]"You want me to come with you?" Ty gaped.
"Of course. Like you said: you have immunity and seem to know these lands better than me. It'd be stupid for me not to have you come along." Flena explained, omitting that she had grown to appreciate his company.
However, Ty was a perceptive Icie and nodded in understanding. "Ah, there's the Flena I know! Well, if you insist, I have a few people in mind that could use our help and put a good word in." He jogged to catch up with her and the two arrived at the entrance of Vulic.
"Lead the way." Flena said as she secured herself onto her horse. Ty smiled and the two led their horses back down the dirt path to a land still foreign to Flena. Their journey had now started. Onto places and people the Icies would see, talk and fight together. Flena was //alive//. And no longer alone.

"Marcus, pour me a whiskey while I deal with this piece of shit." The man who threw her head into the bar top ordered. He then took a stiletto knife out of its sheath on his belt; grabbing Flena's remaining hair. Flena heard none of his orders; her ears were ringing and blood dripped from her nose. Everything was hurting and colours were pulsing in and out of her vision.
Flena had felt this same compulsive feeling in that hut where she was stripped down and touched. Where she killed for the first time. His blood. It was so warm but cooled so quickly on her skin. An Icie. Cold enough to freeze running [[blood.]]
(set: $inv to $inv - (a: "spear"))"Whoa! Now, what's happened here?" A new person had entered the bar. Flena lifted her head groggily; the same screaming bar patrons were now cowering outside. //'Now they were pathetic.'// she thought distantly.
"Is that Karlo?" The voice asked, it was a little closer and accompanied by a tall man with skin reminiscent of the night sky. Even though the man was trying to calm these enraged mercs, he was grinning like a fool. "I must admit, it's the best he's ever looked." He said, putting his hands in the pockets of his green jacket.
Their attention was definitely on him now. "What the fuck did you just say?" the bandana-wearing merc that was about to put an arrow between Flena's eyes spat out. "Oh come on, Trent. The bastard had it coming. Wasn't it you who wanted to lead the Hunjas?" Ty noted, pointing at the man named Trent.
"You wanted to take Karlo's spot?" Sana was finally speaking again, but Flena could see her knees shaking.
//[['Why can't I move?']]//The Whisper was back, uttering a small plea to trust him. //'Not afraid he'll cut our hair?'// The Whisper went quiet again after that.
"What's your name, Blondie?" Ty was now squatting in front of her. All she could see was his grin and jacket. He had said Icies work best in a duo. He seemed nothing like her.
[[Answer Him]]
[[Ignore Him]]The two Icies looked at one another, Ty smiling when he also heard the noise. "Good to know your ears aren't still clogged! You think you'll be ok climbing?"
"Sure.
"You're fine following me?" Ty sounded amused from above.
Flena felt tempted to pull his leg down and watch him fall but opted to say: "Don't make me regret it."
[[Follow Ty]]
"Where is this 'June' you speak of?" Flena barked, spotting Lina's eyes glance at a small tent to the left of them. Flena began to walk over to it but Ty grabbed her again. Then pushed her back towards a tree. "Don't." He said, eyes sending a silent threat.
"Please, don't hurt her, she's only fifteen!" Lina pleaded once more, tears running down her face. Next to her, Hofna's red face and shaking body could only mean one thing.
"Icies working for the Hunjas? They'll use you until you're of no use and kill you!" Hofna shouted, his voice sounding strained.
"That is not your concern." Flena pushed Ty back and held her spear to his chest.
Ty looked her in the eyes and shook his head. "Don't, Flena. They're not the problem here. The Hunjas, Havon; they're the real evil." Flena looked between the man and the tent.
[[Attack the Icies]]
[[Don't Attack]]"We can't stay here forever, Lina.

Ty, who had also watched the whole thing, tried not to laugh at Flena's red face. "We'll wait for you at the bottom, c'mon Flena." The walk back to their horses was quiet. Flena no longer red but still embarrassed.
"That was good of you." Ty decided to say, not wanting to annoy her with his teasing.
"I was sick of you glaring at me." Flena admitted, feeling that same heat come back to her cheeks.
Ty chuckled, patting his horse's mane then hopping on. The man spoke gently, still not wanting to tease her too much; "You haven't exactly made it easy for me not to. But I can understand your aversion to all this. Thank you for listening to me in the end."
"Would you really have killed me?"
The two eyed each other for a few moments, Ty mulling over the thought then finally settled on, "If it would have saved them? Yes." Flena nodded, feeling a wave of respect wash over her. //'He's not one to run from his promises. Good.'//
[[Travel to Vulic]] As if hearing her dismissive thoughts, Ty spat "Why is it so hard for you to be nice?"
"Why do you care so much?" Flena was getting used to shooting back at him. He never seemed to realise that she was trying to avoid the topic. //Or he does but knows he won't get anywhere.// the Whisper vouched.
"Building good relations helps, Flena. If you've got no one to trust in, you're not going to last long." Ty explained, trying to temper his voice as he hopped onto his horse.
"You want me to trust you?" Flena asked, trying not to roll her eyes. //'What does he think he is? A hero?'// Ty sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. Closing his eyes for a few moments and trying to recompose himself.
"I understand your aversion to all this," he finally said, "but have I gotten you killed? Put you in a tough situation?"
"Not yet."
"I want to help you, Flena. I hope you'll believe that soon." It was Flena's turn to sit on Ty's words. Just why was she so averse to his help? It was better than having no one watching her back. Maybe it was easier to doubt everyone.
[[Travel to Vulic]]Ty smiled at the three Icies before them: Hofna and Lina were tying bags onto their horse's backs while a young girl with strawberry blonde hair sat proudly on Hofna's horse.
The three Icies were a [[family ]]."Of course.
[["I'm Flena." ]]

"You're supposed to shake your hand when someone offers theirs." The girl proceeded to show with her own hands, joining them then shaking them vigorously.
Flena felt heat enter her cheeks, "I knew that." She said proudly, rubbing the back of her neck and looking away from the girl peering up at her incredulously.
June giggled once more then ran back over to Hofna who was watching them with a smirk on his face. "Sure, you did. C'mon Hof. I wanna go!"

When Hofna, June, and Lina arrived they began the ride to Vulic.
While Lina and Hofna happily ignored her, June was proving to be a lot like Ty: too carefree and curious for [[their own good. ]] While the others spoke amongst themselves, June had taken it upon herself to make Flena feel included.
Meanwhile, the apple had awakened Flena's [[senses ]].
(set: $inv to $inv + (a: "apple"))Ty, who had also watched the whole thing, tried not to laugh at Flena's red face. "We'll wait for you at the bottom, c'mon Flena." The walk back to their horses was quiet. Flena no longer red but still embarrassed.
"That was good of you." Ty decided to say, not wanting to annoy her with his teasing.

"Would you really have killed me?"
The two eyed each other for a few moments, Ty mulling over the thought then finally settled on, "If it would have saved them? Yes." Flena nodded, feeling a wave of respect wash over her. //'He's not one to run from his promises. Good.'//
[[Travel to Vulic ]] Flena was thirsty, that drink the bartender had given her had irritated her throat.
Then, looked between Ty and the other Icies, something akin to worry and guilt swam in her gut.

"You say you want to help Icies. I'm guessing that means you know a lot about them?" Flena asked, deciding to swallow her guilt for another time.

"That apple has got to be filled with drugs."
"Fuck off, Ty." Ty smiled at Flena, and she ignored the urge to join him. While it felt good to get that out of her system. There were still the many nagging questions lingering within her mind.
[[Ask Ty About Icies]] "Fuck!" Flena yelped, biting down on her lip and trying not to cry out again when he did the same on her right.
"Sorry, but we need to make sure this doesn't get infected. I'm guessing you saw something? Your memories must be coming back to you. That's good!" Ty was meticulous, poking out his tongue as he focused on wrapping her arm in the white fabric.
"I don't think ripping your arms to pieces is good." She retorted the stinging sensation had subsided. Replaced with a pulsing Flena wanted to stop.
"Yeah, it's a double-edged sword. Hold still, I'm almost done bandaging these. Cassia will fix them properly in Vulic. Via! Come here, girl." Ty stated. Flena nodded, instantly regretting it when her neck tensed in pain. The Icie groaned, the sound of Ty's horse breathing was too loud.
"I just realised you haven't even named your horse." Ty mumbled as he put the last safety pin on the bandages.
"What?" Flena croaked, //'Why does this all hurt so much?'//
"Don't worry about it."
"A name..." Flena said aloud, her hazy mind trying to piece together some intelligible name.

[[Quinn]] "He's making sure the newcomers are settling in nice. You're lucky you got here when you did, miss. You lost a lot of blood." //'June and the others made it. Good.'// Flena sighed in relief.
The woman began rummaging through one of the cabinets and mumbled to herself for a few moments. "Aha! Here it is. What's your name, sweetheart? Mine's Cassia."
"You're the woman he was talking about. I'm Flena." Flena introduced, holding out her hand which Cassia took warmly. Remembering what June said, Flena shook their hands. Trying not to smile at herself.
Cassia seemed just as impressed, "Ty said that you can be a handful, but you don't seem all that bad. How long have you known Ty for?" She then grabbed glass of water from the bedside table and dropped a pill in it.
Flena already felt quite comfortable with Cassia, a sensation the Icie had yet to experience. "A day. But I don't know how long I've been out for." She took the glass from Cassia and drank the water and dissolved pill.
"Quite a character isn't he? Just between you and me," Cassia leant in while taking the bandages off of Flena's arms, "I found him to be the most annoying person I'd ever met." Flena let out a noise that could be considered a laugh. //I like her.// the Whisper noted and Flena couldn't help but agree.
"I suppose you have questions about him, don't you?"
"Yes. I want to know..."
[[Just what does he want?]]

Quest Acquired - //Rite of Passage//
Dangerous mercenaris want to kill Flena after she murders their leader. Ty offers that they'll do anything to be let off. A dangerous quest is given to them concerning a pack of Icies living near a trade bridge. Kill them and Flena will get to go scott-free. Can Flena kill her own? Just who is Ty?"Not until you say the magic word!"
"What?"
"You got to say 'Can you leave me alone, //please//'."
"You're kidding." Flena groaned, stopping momentarily to survey for any buildings that looked like lodging. The kids and her were now in the residential section of Denia. Small houses built of stone and wood had their windows shut and curtains drawn. Their chimney's were spouting smoke and owners were bustling around inside, most likely preparing dinner.
Flena's stomach grumbled at the thought and the children giggled. The Icie grumbled out a "What's so funny?" and Stella responded.
"You're tummy made a funny noise! You must be hungry, follow us! My mum makes food over there in that [[pretty van]]!""You're gonna love the food! Stella's mum makes the best nachos and pizza."
"I don't have any money though."
"That's ok!"
The van in question was a way-too-bright orange wearing a crown of fairy lights. Upon their arrival, Flena couldn't help but feel the leaves of the vertical garden on the side of the van. Stella giggled at her interest and ran inside the van, then popped up on the inside with a small apron and chefs hat on.
"Just who might you be?" A tall woman with straight, brunette hair stood with her hands on her hips behind Flena. She wore a red, long-sleeved top with a loose belt hanging around her hips. Her pants were covered with flour and the belt had spots to hold tools and a pocket knife. The Icie pulled her mouth away from the pizza slice and sat up tall."I hope you weren't just going to dine and dash?"
"Mama!"
"Hello, sweetie. Who's your new friend?"
"This is Flena! She's a bit of a meanie but I like her mama."
"Hmm, a meanie, huh? How about you and the boys go play and I'll talk to Flena?"
"Ok! Cya, Flena! Come play with us later."
"Uh, sure.""I hope you weren't just going to dine and dash?"

(link-goto: "Exit Inventory", (history:)'s last) Another item Flena took from the dead man back in Trina. It had kept her alive since that encounter and she was growing rather fond of it. With its beautiful beads and sharp edges, it was the perfect weapon for a newly awakened Icie. Flena would put it to good use.
June was an interesting Icie to say the least. But the apple was a small gift Flena was grateful for. Starving, she ate it with a bit too much fervor. Almost choking on it.
No matter how hard Flena tried, the blood she spilled on it just won't come out. Made of animal fur and other fabrics, the coat seems perfect for the cold weather. Flena pays no heed to the intricate weavings along the chest and sleeves of the coat. Red thread dancing in wild patterns.
Cassia gave it to Flena to keep all her gear in. The bag itself is a creamy colour with weird blue and green symbols sewn all over it. Flena pays no mind to them though. Instead glad to have somewhere to put all her items.
Easy to put on and durable; another gift from Cassia in Vulic. Flena knows she'll need them for her fresh arm wounds. She also knows it'll be the first of many injuries for her.
