As you awake you find yourself lying on the floor with a dull ache nagging the back of your head. You look around to see you are in a vaguely familiar place but you can't seem to fully remember how you ended up here.
There is siren blaring in your ears and red flashing lights which must be signalling some kind of emergency.

[[Leave the room]] or [[Take a look around]]As you move into the hallway you become instantly aware of the severity of the situation. A handful of bodies are strewn around the hallway with burn marks all over them, which you recognise as a gunshot wound from a laser pistol, the standard issue weapon for security inside the lab. Memories of what occured here also come flooding back to you.
The lab you worked in was the first to give an artificial intelligence complete control over all electronic systems inside the lab to alleviate the workload for the personnel inside. However something (or someone) must have corrupted the AI's systems, upon which the doors to exit the lab were locked down and the security force, made up of cybernetic robot bodies, called drones, which were inhabited and controlled by the AI, began hunting down all of the lab's workers. As you were attempting to hide in the private quarters with a group of other survivors one of the drones stepped into the hallway and started firing. You must have been grazed by one of the laser blasts, and had fallen unconscious just as you managed to close the door to one of the bedrooms.
Seeing the aftermath of this attack you become determined to stop the rogue AI and escape the lab with your life. As you move further down the hallway you come to a locked door with a keypad, numbered from 0-9, beside it.
Written in sharpie on side of the keypad is the number 4649, though it is quite faded and the numbers are barely legible. You will have to pass through the door in order to reach the control room to stop the AI.

As you take in your surroundings you find very little of consequence, mostly just personal belongings. However one item catches your attention, a sticky note with the following written on it:
IMPORTANT
New door code: 5821
Recognising this must be important information you take a mental note of this number and then [[Leave the room]].As you attempt to make your way past the drone withouth it noticing you suddenly stumble over a loose bit of piping which echoes around the hallway and the drone immediately notices you. You are far too close to be able to attack the drone and it quickly overpowers you.

[[Back to start->Beginning]]You level your laser pistol at the drone and squeze the trigger. Lightning fast bolts of energy fly down the hallway and catch the drone directly in its torso. It reels from the blast for only a second but it quickly recovers and begins moving towards you. You keep pulling trigger in an effort to bring it down, and just as it starts to seem like the shots are having no effect it begins emitting sparks and smoke. It falls to the ground and is no longer moving.
You leave the hall through the door at the end and find yourself in the control room.
As you enter you make your way to the computer console which monitors the activity of the AI inside the lab. As you go to deactivate the AI you realise that doing so would disable all electrical systems inside the lab as it had full control over them all. You could simply unlock the doors to exit the lab and escape, leaving the AI operational with access to the outside world.

[[Open the doors]] or [[Shutdown the AI]]?The keypad rings out an alarm as you realise you have entered the wrong code. A drone steps through the door and confronts you.
You have nowhere to run and no way ot defend yourself.
You are dead.
[[Back to start->Beginning]]The door slides open into another passageway, but inside is one of the drones you barely managed to escape from with your life. Lying just over the threshold in one of the laser pistols they use, which you pick up as quietly as you can. There is a chance that you could make your way past the drone without it noticing you but this would put you in close proximity to it and leave you with no escape if you are detected. On the other hand you could risk taking advantage of your current situation and firing on the drone before it has a chance to retaliate.

[[Try to evade]] or [[Attack the drone]]You open the exterior doors to the lab and make your way out to freedom, but what might the repercussions of leaving the AI operational with all the resources of the lab behind and open to the world.
Ending 1
[[Play again->Beginning]]You quickly navigate the consoles menu and activate the shutdown sequence of the AI. As you do the electrical systems, including the drones, begin to deactivate and you become trapped within the lab. You are safe in the knowledge that the AI is no longer a threat to humanity, but at the cost of your freedom. You have no idea how long it could take for someone to find you here, or if they ever will at all.
