Welcome to the Battle for Time
[[Begin Story]]
You wake up and check the time. Then head over to the mess tent.
[[Next]]You get to the mess tent. There is not much hot water left. You must decide whether to have coffee or oatmeal.
[[Coffee]]
[[Oatmeal]]You hear explosions followed by gunfire. You run back to your bunk to grab your gun and pocket watch.
You can’t find your watch. You know you left it right on the bed. Someone must have stolen it.
You peak out of your tent and see soldiers running. You grab someone and ask them…
[[Do you know what happened to my pocket watch? ]]
[[• What’s going on down there?]]You hear explosions followed by gunfire. You run back to your bunk to grab your gun and pocket watch.
You can’t find your watch. You know you left it right on the bed. Someone must have stolen it.
You peak out of your tent and see soldiers running. You grab someone and ask them…
[[Do you know what happened to my pocket watch? ]]
[[• What’s going on down there?]]The soldier says “No Seargent I know nothing about, but the enemy is attacking the SouthEast line and reenforcements were ordered to head over”.
[[Keep looking for your watch.]]
[[Ignore the watch for the moment, grab your gun and run towards the action.]]The soldier says “The enemy has attacked the Southeast line”.
[[You grab your gun and run towards the action.]]
You died. A mortar landed in your tent and exploded. Story Over.
[[Restart|Begin Story]][[Right after you leave the tent, a mortar hits it. If you stayed any longer you would have died.]]
[[Right after you leave the tent, a mortar hits it. If you stayed any longer you would have died.]]You get to the command tent, where your CO is giving orders.
You mention to him that your watch has been stolen.
He says there are more important things to deal with at the moment.
You reluctantly agree.
He gives you the choice to [[head to the front line and lead the counterattack.]] Or [[to head over to the South West line and command.]]
You get to the front line, where bodies are starting to pile up.
You are to lead the counterattack. Do you [[order an artillery strike]] or a [[full charge of the troops remaining.]]
There is no action over here at the moment. You ask around about your watch. A soldier says he heard something about someone trying to sell a gold watch. But that’s all he knew.
You get word that the fighting has stopped over at the Southeast line and you are needed back at the command [[tent.]]
You successfully held off the enemy, they are retreating now.
[[You head back to the command tent.]]
You die along with most of your troops. Story Over.
[[Restart|Begin Story]]You ask around about your watch. A soldier says he saw someone leave your tent right before the action started. That is all he has to say.
All the soldiers begin chattering. They just got word that the CO was killed during the fight.
[[Everyone begins to stare at you.]]You feel uncomfortable and shout “why are you all staring at me”?
A soldier leans over and reminds you “You’re the highest ranking official now, you’re the new CO”.
They ask what your first order will be.
[[• Order reinforcements to the southeast line where the action already took place.]]
[[• Order reinforcements to all the lines. In case of another attack.]]On your way over, you pass the medical tent, where you see your CO laying lifeless in a cot. You run to the command tent.
[[Everyone begins to stare at you.]] You head over to the SE line as well. You hear word from a friend, that the man who has your watch is nearby.
Decide whether to [[pursue the person]] or [[wait to hear for further info.]]You wait around at the command tent. A friend comes by and mentions that he heard about the watch over with the guys from the SW line.
You are intrigued by this info. Should you go try to [[find this soldier]] or [[wait and stay in command.]]
You ask around about the watch. Someone starts running away in the open land.
The soldier steps on a mine and is blown up along with the watch. Story over.
[[Restart|Begin Story]]Someone finds out the name of the soldier.
You have no time to do anything about it. Due to the enemy beginning another attack, but this time at the [[Southwest line.]]
You get word that, the troops over there were wiped out because they didn’t have enough help.
[[Call for a retreat from the SW Line.]]
[[Decide to send all the remaining troops over to the SW line.]]Most of the troops are now with you at the SE line.
With new lines now created. You need to decide whether to [[call in artillery]], or a [[full charge of troops.]]
The bombing worked. The enemy is retreating. [[Finish]]You and your troops are slaughtered. Story Over
[[Restart|Begin Story]]It is nighttime now. You decide to thin out the lines for soldiers to eat and rest. While you are at your table, you overhear a soldier talk about the watch the he had just bought. You stand up and order the soldier to hand over the watch. It turns out to be your great grandfather’s gold pocket watch. You ask him where he got it from the soldier said he bought it from someone, but then reveals that the soldier who sold the watch to him had died during the last attack. You are relieved to have your family heirloom back. You let the soldier go with no consequences. You sit back down and open the watch where you see the picture you placed inside of your family. You smile. You get to live another day. Story over.
To find other paths:[[Restart|Begin Story]]Everyone is now in a fire fight at the SW line
You are suffering heavy casualties and the line is being overrun by the enemy.
You must [[retreat]] or be killed. As you are retreating you run by something shiny.
You stop look at and it.
It is your great grandfather’s watch that was stolen from your bunk that morning.
You pick it up and smile. As your head rises, you see the enemy come closer. Your troops have all successfully retreated, but you are stuck now. You realize they will take the watch from you.
You figure the only thing that you can do is to put the watch in the one place they won’t find. (Where the sun don’t shine). You are captured and now a prisoner of war. But at least you have your gold pocket watch back. Story over.
[[Restart|Begin Story]]You head over to the SW line. You ask around and get no new information. At this time the enemy begins to attack the SW line. You tell the men to hold their ground. Should you [[call in reinforcements]] or an [[artillery bombing.]]You get word that there is an attack on not just the SE line, but also the SW line. You are able to call in an artillery bombing for one of the lines.
Southwest [[Line]]
Southeast [[Line]]This means the SE line is weakened. The reinforcements arrive. But there is an attack on the SE line. You have no other options but to call in an [[artillery attack near the SE line.]]
The enemy retreats. While the bombing occurred the SE Line was attacked. But they were able to hold off the enemy.
[[Finish ]]Luckily it worked. The enemy retreated on both sides.
But there were many casualties on both lines. Another attack could decimate your platoon.
[[Finish ]]It is nighttime now. You order the lines to thin out. Soldiers need to eat and rest. One of your friends comes up to you and hands you something. It is your great grandfather’s gold pocket watch. The one you have been trying to regain possession of all day. There’s one problem. There is a hole right through the middle of it. Your friend tells you he found it with the body of a dead soldier. It must have been hit with the same bullet that killed the soldier. You are saddened not only with the loss of many lives throughout the day, but also because your family heirloom is now ruined. You live on for another day. Story Over
If you to find other paths:[[Restart|Begin Story]]Turns out it didn’t matter which side you decided on. Once the bombing began. The enemy retreated on both fronts.
[[Finish. ]]It is nighttime now. You decide to thin out the lines for soldiers to eat and rest. While you are at your table, you overhear a soldier talk about the watch the he had just bought.
