You've just ran out of heavy ammunition during the alien attack. All you have on you is your Power Suit and Laser Gun. You come across an old, abandoned bunker. This place looks like it has been abandoned for years, but if anywhere has the ammo you are looking for, its here.
You go down a flight of stairs into a hallway. You have the option to go either left or right.

[[Go Right]] The end of this hallway has been walled off. There are small openings on the top and bottom of the wall, which may lead to another room.

[[Crawl]] You find that the opening on the bottom is too small for you to crawl through. Maybe climbing through the top will get you through.
[[Climb]] You successfully climb through the opening on the top of the wall. Behind the wall is a room that only has a statue in it. The statue is holding something, it looks like an upgrade for your armor. You equip it and have the ability to Roll Up and crawl through tight spaces.
This room has nothing left to offer.

[[Crawl Back]] You try to climb back up, but the room you are in has a slight dip, making the opening on top is higher up then it was before. You cannot climb up, meaning the only way to get out is to use your new crawling ability.

[[Go to the Right Side]] You walk through the right side of the hallway. As you continue onward, you find an area with a few small alien animals crawling around the place. There are two hedgehog looking aliens, and one that looks like a bat hanging from the cieling. Behind the alien animals is a door, which means you'll have to either sneak past them or charge up your blaster.

There's a small flight of stairs, but they've been torn off the wall. You're going to have to jump up to the next catwalk.
Unfortunately, the catwalk is infested with a pair of spinebugs.

That was way too close.

It takes a few shots but doesn't go down; instead it leaps at you! Your lightning fast reflexes put your cannon arm between the beast and yourself and you watch in horror as it bites down into a fuel line, igniting itself.

You land on the (t8n-time:1s)[[next catwalk->Ascent Catwalks 2]] violently, smashing the spinebug into paste under the weight of your suit, but notice to your dismay that it damaged your left boot. The energy levels on your HUD look lower than they were before...This catwalk seems marginally more stable than the last, but that gives you little comfort as you find the rocky outcropping ahead blocked by a floating death-lobster.

Unforuntately, it catches one of your boots in it's mandibles as you pass, tearing off an armor plate. Your suit squawks a warning at you as you (t8n-depart:"slide-down")+(t8n-arrive:"slide-down")+(t8n-time:1.5s)[[land on the next platform->Ascent Platforms 3]], your energy levels dropping noticably from the rupture. (set: $Energy to it + -1)A quick scan of the environment shows a tiny platform you overlooked before. It'll be a hard jump, but you might be able to avoid the death-lobster altogether.

You reach for the next platform, but in your hasty takeoff you failed to align your jump correctly. Your fingers brush the lip of the platform, but you can't quite get a hold. You feel a lurch in your stomach as you plummet down, crashing in a heap at the (t8n-depart:"dissolve")+(t8n-arrive:"dissolve")+(t8n-time:1.5s)[[base of the cave shaft->Ascent Bottom]].You see a (t8n-depart:"slide-down")+(t8n-arrive:"slide-down")+(t8n-time:1.5s)[[rusty ladder->Ascent Rusty Ladder]], an (t8n-depart:"slide-down")+(t8n-arrive:"slide-down")+(t8n-time:1.5s)[[uneven rock wall->Ascent Rock Wall]], and a few (t8n-depart:"slide-down")+(t8n-arrive:"slide-down")+(t8n-time:1.5s)[[broken steps->Ascent Broken Stairs]] that lead upward.This platform shakes and drops dust particles everytime you take a step. You get the feeling you should find a new place to stand sooner rather than later, but the path ahead is obscured by the armored form of a floating death-lobster.

To your surprise, the lowest rock platform is just above you. The indent you're standing in is invisible from the door you came through when you first surveyed the cave. A venemous spinebug crawls across the platform right into your line of view.

Once again, the (t8n-depart:"slide-down")+(t8n-arrive:"slide-down")+(t8n-time:1.5s)[[rickety catwalks->Ascent Catwalks 1]] and (t8n-depart:"slide-down")+(t8n-arrive:"slide-down")+(t8n-time:1.5s)[[rough stone platforms->Ascent Platforms 1]] present your only options forward.As the death-lobster swoops in to maul you, you swiftly jump into the air and kick off from the wall behind you, spinning through the darkness at breakneck speed. The gyros in your suit activate after a moment, stabilizing your flight and slamming you feet first into solid ground. (t8n-time:1.5s)[[Something behind you seems familiar...->Ascent Retrace]]You duck underneath the death-lobster as it launches itself towards you, morphing your suit into a mechanized ball which allows you to roll at high speed underneath the lobster. As you hit the edge of the platform, moments before you would go spinning into the void, you violently unfold from ball-form, springing forward in a daring leap that just barely places you on a stable ledge. [[Something behind you seems familiar...->Ascent Retrace]]In front of you is another glowing blue door, identical to the first. As you approach, it spirals open, leading you into (t8n-depart:"slide-left")+(t8n-arrive:"slide-left")+(t8n-time:1.5s)[[a new vertical cavern->Enter Descent]], this one with walls made from some amber secretion.You jump high, hoping that verticality will give you enough space to land on the narrow platform. Unfortunately, your jump falls too short and you're left falling an uncomfortable amount of time until you crash into the (t8n-depart:"slide-up")+(t8n-arrive:"slide-up")+(t8n-time:1.5s)[[bottom of the cavern->Ascent Bottom]].Forgoing height for pure lateral distance, you rocket straight over the void. For one wrenching moment you think you won't make it, but then your hands catch hold of the platform and you hoist yourself up, panting.
From here it seems to be a (t8n-depart:"slide-down")+(t8n-arrive:"slide-down")+(t8n-time:1.5s)[[simple jump->Ascent Platforms 3]] up to the platform the death-lobster was guarding.This cavern is also arranged vertically, but this time you can clearly make out a door down below. A (t8n-depart:"slide-up")+(t8n-arrive:"slide-up")+(t8n-time:1.5s)[[sequence of bridges->Descent Bridge 1]] crisscrosses the descent, but there are gaps you might be able to (t8n-depart:"slide-up")+(t8n-arrive:"slide-up")+(t8n-time:1.5s)[[drop through->Descent Drop]]. Assuming the death-lobsters don't catch you as you fall past, that is.You leap for one of the gaps along the edge of the passage, grabbing onto the wall as you begin to drop. Sparks fly from your steel-tipped fingers as you rush downwards.
A death-lobster swoops out at you, tearing a chunk out of your shoulder pad as you fall past.
Another comes up from below, smashing into you and throwing you onto a bridge. You have no time to catch your breath, though. A spinebug is crawling towards you. (set: $Energy to it + -2)

You gingerly step over the puddle and (t8n-depart:"slide-up")+(t8n-arrive:"slide-up")+(t8n-time:1.5s)[[drop down to the next level->Descent 2]].With the spinebug nearly upon you, you turn and run in the opposite direction, the mechanized legs of your suit quickly outpacing the predator.
Unharmed, you vault over the edge of the bridge and (t8n-depart:"slide-up")+(t8n-arrive:"slide-up")+(t8n-time:1.5s)[[drop down to the next level->Descent 2]].You drop right past the death-lobster. It bellows and charges you, but you slide past its mandibles a split second too soon for it to get a bite and land safely three bridges down.
A spinebug hisses at you from overhead, but is too far to do any damage now.

There seem to be no obstructions between you and the (t8n-depart:"slide-up")+(t8n-arrive:"slide-up")+(t8n-time:1.5s)[[next bridge down->Descent Bug Fight]].You drop down to the next bridge unscatched. A spinebug occupies this one and it rushes to greet you with a faceful of sharp quills.

Sure enough, there was a spinebug attached to one of the platforms. It takes a swipe at you as you fall past, but misses.
You land in front of (t8n-depart:"slide-left")+(t8n-arrive:"slide-left")+(t8n-time:1.5s)[[the door->Descent Door]].This platform is luckily spinebug-free, but you can see one crawling on the next platform over.

The walls are made from the same golden amber, but the floor is cracked and broken, with spinebugs slithering in and out of crevices too dark to see into.
From the ceiling, multi-eyed alien birds blink at you threateningly.
Seemingly left with no other choice, you (t8n-depart:"slide-up")+(t8n-arrive:"slide-left")+(t8n-time:1.5s)[[drop down into the hallway->Hallway Entry]].You jump past the spinebug and land in front of (t8n-depart:"slide-left")+(t8n-arrive:"slide-left")+(t8n-time:1.5s)[[the door->Descent Door]].You blast at the spinebug, but it crawls out of range after absorbing a few shots. It should be wounded enough to give you time to (t8n-depart:"slide-left")+(t8n-arrive:"slide-up")+(t8n-time:1.5s)[[get past->Descent Jump Past Bug]].It feels unsafe down here. Looking around, you can see the balcony you dropped from has some room underneath.

Moments later, three charred birds drop at your feet. Free of further disturbance, you (t8n-depart:"flicker")+(t8n-arrive:"slide-left")+(t8n-time:1.5s)[[press on->Hallway 2]].You manage to run underneath the first two birds as they smash into the floor. That explains why the ground in here is so damaged!
You're not so lucky with the third one, however, which curves it's path to tear your shoulder with it's axe-like wings.
You kick it away and (t8n-depart:"slide-left")+(t8n-arrive:"slide-left")+(t8n-time:1.5s)[[continue->Hallway 2]].At the end of the hallway, you find a (t8n-depart:"slide-up")+(t8n-arrive:"slide-left")+(t8n-time:1.5s)[[wall with some handholds->Hallway Tube]].You try to morph into ball-form and roll out from the bird's assault, but it reads your gambit and alters it's course to smash into you from behind, sending you skipping across the hallway floor. You barely manage to avoid a spinebug before coming to rest (t8n-depart:"slide-up")+(t8n-arrive:"slide-left")+(t8n-time:1.5s)[[against a wall with some handholds->Hallway Tube]].(set: $Energy to it + -1)Spinning your cannon arm upwards, you continue the barrage. The first few bullets tear through the bird, stunning it long enough for you to score a headshot, dropping it instantly. Safe, you (t8n-depart:"slide-left")+(t8n-arrive:"slide-left")+(t8n-time:1.5s)[[press forward->Hallway 2]].As you reach the top of the wall, you find yourself staring down a huge pipe in the floor. An angry buzzing emanates from the pipe.

It's suspended above a pool of molten amber which steams and bubbles unpleasantly. You have no doubt it's highly caustic.

It seems to be able to rise higher easily, but not descend.

It's into this liquid that you now plunge. You suit beeps high toxicity warnings at you and ryour HUD is lit by flashing red power drain indicators as you heave yourself out of the sludge.(set: $Energy to it + -1)

You take a deep breath,
Then fire.
The air splits as a plasma rocket blasts forth from your cannon arm, obliterating the amber ceiling overhead. Before the debris can settle, you fire another missile, this one smashing even further into the ceiling, sending clouds of dust and soot raining down.
Another missile, and another, and suddenly a shaft of light breaks through, unveiling a new passage. Your final missile breaks all the way through and you leap into the new zone.
You're not at the end of this maze yet, but you'll get there.
