In the large metropolis of Toyorko, life goes on as it would in any other big city. Commuters take the subway to work at 9:00 A.M., sit in an office for 8 hours, and ride back home at 5:00 P.M. Every day is the same, and no one asks questions; just keep your head down and keep trucking through the work cycle. Everybody is too busy working through the constant grind of life to bat an eye at the world around them. However, in this continuous, automatic, conveyer-belt-like society, there is something in the works behind the metal curtains of the dominating money-making corporations that run this town. The conspiracy theorists call it The Prometheus Conspiracy; those who are perceptive enough to see it, at least. High level CEO’s and company officials are slowly attempting to brainwash the citizens of Toyorko through mass consumerism and media, taking their wealth and their individualism to use for their own good. Almost every social media platform is owned by the same company that owns the very phones, tablets and computers that they are using. The articles that they click may come from different news sites, but it is the same money behind them. Do people ever read the terms and conditions that they agree upon before forfeiting their data? The technological kraken of Holiday Industries has gotten out of control, after decades of mergers from companies. What could be the goal? Some say it is the ultimate domination of people through integration into their version of high-tech society.

The Sons of Mars say that the members of this Prometheus society are behind the Holiday Industries conglomerate. Prometheus is fond of the ancient Egyptians’ model of kings and slaves. The kings had unquestioned divine and ruling authority, which Prometheus wishes to enact upon their own population. With all the new technological advances that the big corporations are churning out, there’s little hope for the general population to avoid the incoming dystopian future that lies ahead. With that being said, there is still a pinch of resistance from the Sons of Mars, or Martians, for short. When news articles call them unhinged luddites, deluded, uneducated, criminals - they call it fake news and fake media. Many people who have come out as Martians have been subject to being “cancelled” from society. It is up to you to decide how the story unfolds. What happens when you are living in an ecosystem of technology and media owned by a small few? Will you challenge their agenda?

[[Accessing the mainframe]]
[[Go back|Prologue]]For the past five years, your company Holiday Industries has spearheaded the change into turning Toryoko into an automated society. This progression has led to factories being solely run by algorithmic machines that operate at all times of the day, cutting countless jobs at the hands of perfect automation. With the reduction of hard labour, products can also be marketed at a faster rate to citizens, so there’s always more money coming in. Your company has also been at the forefront of what you call “innovating human interaction,” creating technologies that connect people through electronics such as the bytePC, bytePhone and byteTV. Holding a share in DigiPost allows you to advertise these products to the public to generate profit. Internet and phone services were also created as a method of surveillance in order to control human behaviour to accomplish the goal of world domination. However, on the Martianfront forum there has been growing debate that Holiday Industries has been preventing individual freedom. They argue that their data is being used without consent and thus is a stolen good. With this talk of a rebellion against the Prometheus conspiracy, what is your course of action?
[[Continue as planned]]
[[Deal with any obstacles, no matter how small]]A few stragglers won’t get in the way of this massive project that’s been gaining traction for years. We are the elite of the elite. Nothing can stop us, we’re almost in the clear. You should focus on the next move:
[[Check in with the engineers and the technologies they’re creating]]
[[Check in with the marketing team and the capitalist brainwashing they’ve been doing]]
You aren’t about to let any small, stubborn resistance ruin your master plan as it’s so close to completion. You hear that the movement is being spearheaded by a talented and ambitious hacker using the name C1PH3R. You hear that they have last been spotted at Holiday Industries, posing as an employee. How will you deal with them?
[[Don’t hold back, send a squad in and seize her before she can do any damage]]
[[Beat her at her own game, get your best hackers into the system and let them prevent her from making her mark]]
You should check in with engineering and see how they’re doing. We have to make sure all the tech is wired properly to make sure the final step can be executed properly.
//Engineering tells you all systems are a go. //
The AIs and electrical work in all tech that’s been consumed and used by the public is wired exactly how they wanted and the plan for domination of Toryoko is performing as planned. You are now ready for that final step.
[[Hit the switch, enact the Prometheus plan for domination of Toryoko]]
[[Hesitate, are you sure you want to do this?]]
You check in with marketing and see how they’re doing. We have to make sure all the consumerism is going as planned.
//Marketing tells you the numbers are off the charts, people are spending like crazy, and the plan for domination of Toryoko is performing as planned. You are now ready to take the final step.//
[[Hit the switch, enact the Prometheus plan for domination of Toryoko]]
[[Hesitate, are you sure you want to do this?]]
All of a sudden, the metropolitan citizen sector of Toryoko falls into mass chaos. Technologies in people’s homes and all around the city turn on their owners as if they have a mind of their own, only speaking with threats and violence, asserting their dominance. All the money has been squeezed out of everyone’s wallets, they have nowhere to turn and nowhere to run. You and the rest of The Prometheus come forward and announce that they’ve taken over the public sector. They are the new societal overlords. You’ve done it. Domination.
[[END|Prologue]] You tell the rest of The Prometheus that you’re having second thoughts about this. Is this really right? Are we really going to rob this entire metropolis of their lives and their freedom? You can’t do it. You can’t live with the guilt of going through with this. You announce that you will not be assisting them with this any longer. They do not take kindly to your newfound philosophy. You are imprisoned for treason against the state, because The Prometheus is the state, and you spend the rest of your days in prison. Despite standing up for what’s right, what you had built was too powerful to overcome. The Prometheus enact their plan - your plan - for domination as you watch from behind bars. Helpless and hopeless.
//10 days pass//
You’ve watched from behind bars for over a week now as the plan that you set into motion is running smoothly across the Toryoko metropolis. During this time it has made you reflect on the culture of social production that you’ve created. In pioneering this new market system the data collected through surveillance is used to manipulate consumers' production. Now you realize that you have crossed the line along the way.
[[END|Prologue]] This was a very good choice. They may be an incredibly dangerous computer hacker, but when it comes to physical altercation, she stands no chance against your squad of armored goons. They seize them with ease and are jailed. Their whole operation has failed. You are now ready to take the final step.
[[Continue as planned]] They are very, very good at this. Despite throwing numerous hackers their way at once trying to counter the damage that they are doing to the mainframe, she seems ready to respond to every move and continues to make progress. Time is running out, they almost broke down the firewall, and after that it’s all in their control. What’s your next move?
[[Strengthen Security]]
[[Capture C1PH3R]]
You put your most skilled computer specialists at the forefront of gaining the advantage from C1PH3R. They strengthen the fire wall which will prevent them from reaching the core of Prometheus' plan for domination. They incorporate more security measures to give you time to either come up with a plan.
[[Setting Up An Intricate Firewall System]]
[[Continuing with the Plan of World Domination]]
You know that they are at Holiday Industries. You receive word that they are female, in their late 20s and have purple hair. You hope that the last firewall will hold while you debate whether you should join your best informant to capture them or stay back.
[[Join]]
[[Stay Back]]A strengthened firewall is built that will not be easily susceptible to C1PH3R hacking techniques because now you are familiar with their capabilities.
[[END|Prologue]] The computer specialist gain enough of an advantage in the hacker battle to give you enough time to execute the Prometheus plan to monopolize Toryoko.
[[END|Prologue]]Tara begins cracking into the mainframe. Unfortunately they were sure to have the best cyber security systems possible that were filled with encryptions, Tara softly sighs and says to herself, “This may take more time than I thought.”

"...The Sons of Mars are a group of conspiracy theorists, arguing that technology is making people lose their jobs, making them sick, and taking away their individual freedom. Holiday Industries is a leader in technology and denies that their products are contributing to these. Holiday Industries creates robotic workers, automation, security systems and cameras such as Spartan Security Products. They provide internet and phone service, consumer electronics such as the bytePhone, byteBook, byteTV and bytePC. They also run social media services such as SnapGram and Blinker, and they have a large stake in DigiPOST, a company that owns several news titles.
Sons of Mars have reported being censored when using their social media and being surveilled through social media and Holiday’s devices, as well as having their data sold. They believe that the ecosystem of products that Holiday Industries owns has become a “big other” in controlling people. Sons of Mars believe that their data, privacy and freedom of expression should be a right online and when they use devices.
Holiday Industries says that their advances in technology are benefitting people for the greater good. They are reducing hard labour, pollution and exploitation with their automation and robots. [[Return to Game|Prologue]]
[[Return to Start Menu|Prometheus the Game]]Tara has been researching the Sons of Mars for some time now, while browsing her phone. Everyone thinks that they’re lunatics, like how crazy can you get thinking that people want to enslave the whole world and “return to egypt”? However, Tara thought there was more to this conspiracy. A lot of it surrounds Holiday Industries.
She has always been suspicious about her employer, Holiday Industries. As a bright mind in technology, she’s seen the flaws in how Holiday violates people’s rights on a daily basis. Tara considered herself an anomaly among her peers who worshipped the greatness of Holiday. After another article of Holiday getting called by the Supreme Court for their data violations, Tara thought it was time to take action herself...

Thus, your actions must be kept a secret.
[[END|Prologue]] She is far too valuable with her hacking skills to die. You brainwash her into thinking that the ideology of mass consumerism to dominate Torokyo’s citizens' wealth is an effective method in a capitalist society. They are robbed of their voice in matters which they keep private. Thus, your actions must be kept a secret.
[[END|Prologue]] Dexter de Laurentis gets called into his bosses office. His boss has something big planned and needs the help of a few trusted people in the office. Your boss just explained that there is a secret society known as Prometheus. They want world domination, and they are obtaining it through everyday use of technology. They are gathering wealth from consumerism and enslaving the population. This is causing natural disasters, pollution and mass environment health issues. Their goal is to create an army known as The Sons of Martins. You are recruited to join this group. Your Boss mentions a name M. Zucc, which you recently found out to be your father. M. Zucc is a leader of this world dominating cult. Do you follow in your fathers footsteps or do you create your own? YOU, Dexter must choose to be the good guy or the bad guy in this situation. Choose carefully, as the wrong choice could end up being detrimental to your path and you will need to start over. Which fate will YOU choose?
//Dexter steps into his bosses office//
[[It is time for you to recruit like minded people to take the other side down.]]
[[Lie to your boss and make him think you are a part of this plan.]]
Your life is crazy, from losing your old job, a recent move to the big city for work and new family members that you only ever dreamed about. The best way forward is to move slowly and carefully. Sudden movements will cause you to be a threat to Prometheus. Or is it?
[[Taking Care]]
[[Be Daring]]Dexter jumps out of his office chair when the clock strikes noon to go heat up his leftover spaghetti from the night before. He tries to avoid his fellow co-worker and the small talk. In the lunchroom, he sees a poster on the bulletin board that advertises a lunch-and-learn lunch meeting where Tara from IT is teaching Linux commands.
Dexter already brought lunch and he shys away from interactions that might require him to small talk. And he works in accounting. All he does is Excel all day. Dexter doesn’t need to learn about “Linux” or any IT tips. Dexter actually doesn’t like new technology and is slightly annoyed at IT and the fact they force him to change his work password every 4 months. Damn IT people. Dexter thinks that IT might be spying on him and reading his emails. At the same time, Dexter feels it is a good opportunity for him to find a friend at work. Maybe someone to grab a drink with afterwork. What does Dexter do?
[[Dexter goes to the lunch-and-learn.]]
[[Dexter stays in his comfort zone and does not go to the lunch-and-learn.]]You make an account on a forum known as “Martianfront.” This is where like minded conspirators merge together. Perhaps you can find those that are also trying to take down this group. You see a post made by a user named C1PH3R: “I want to know the truth about Prometheus.”
Under the comment section you see some trolls. However, you are more interested in the user who made the question. You send C1PH3R (Tara) a direct message.
[[You message Tara asking to meet as you feel safest talking in private.]]
[[You have a conversation with Tara over direct message.]]Tara agrees to meet and you choose a remote location.
[[You are at the meetup spot Tara shows up.]]
She questions if you are wearing a wire. You hesitate, why would she assume
I’m wearing a wire? Maybe she is with them, you start to think. Do I really trust her? Was this a bad idea? She then proceeds to ask you how you know of the group. Do you tell her the truth?
[[Yes, you tell her your father is the leader and you are trying to take him down.]]
[[No, you don't tell her your father is the leader.]]
You find out she is C1PH3R and she has the ability to hack almost anything. She becomes a great asset to you. You two now must get into the Holiday building technology room where Tara worked. In that building you must hack the impossible FireWall to break down the connection that Prometheus has built to their consumers gathering their information. Once you do that, the leader of the group M.zucc will come out from hiding. You can meet your father and take him down personally.
[[You advise a plan to get Tara back into her old work.]]
[[You and Tara just received confirmation on the key card.]]Tara knew you were related to M.Zucc. She is C1PH3R, she did a
complete background check on you. You shouldn’t have lied. Now you
are on your own to take the organization down.
''GAME OVER''
[[END|Prologue]][[Continue|You are now working with Tara.]]Due to job insecurity, you choose to lay low and only handle tasks your direct supervisor gives you.
It’s an unusually cool and crisp day in Toyorko, relaxing in many ways. Your day started off normally, breakfast with your family and the normal subway ride into the city core at 9 a.m. But what you find on your desk is anything but normal. On the front, it says “Dexter: TOP SECRET: info inside”. Upon opening the file you find photos from surveillance cameras. Some are normal, from the subway, the streets of Toyorko, and children playing in the parks nearby. The instructions ask you to find the photographed areas and conduct maintenance on the general surveillance system. Your task, should you choose to accept it: alter the malfunctioning sound beams on the cameras.
[[Fix the Sound Beams]]
[[Investigate the job, maybe they don’t need fixing.]]The power that you now hold is overwhelming. With just a swipe of a keycard and an iris scan, you can get past every door and obtain any and all the information that you may want. It is your birthright after all.
You are asked to go out into the field and install new surveillance systems. The work doesn’t seem too interesting, you’d much prefer to stay in office and gain more information on Prometheus.
[[Stay in the office.]]
[[Do what you were told.]]
Following the detailed mechanical instructions, you find all the cameras and fix them. You have one left, the park in the center of Toyorko. While working on the camera, a buzzing noise - that you’ve already heard coming from the others - begins sounding. But this time it is louder than the others. No one around you seems to notice.
[[Close up the camera system. You did everything you were supposed to.]]
[[Check your work, there has to be something wrong.]]The first surveillance camera, or surveillance unit, that you go to seems to be working right. The video input is fine. You were sent to fix a sound system below the camera, a detail that you find strange. When you open up the sound system, you notice that there is a wire cut.
[[Replace the wire, you were told to do it after all.]]
[[Call your boss to tell him about the issue.]]He convinced himself that he is only going for the free pizza. And maybe finding a friend. Dexter walks into the meeting room and sees a few people already inside. He gets his pizza and picks a seat away from others. Tara starts her presentation in a few minutes. Dexter found her to be friendly and funny. Her presentation was engaging and surprisingly interesting to Dexter. Despite not liking to learn new technology, Dexter listened and kept the Linux command cheat sheet Tara passed around. After the meeting ended, he thought of going up to Tara and introducing himself.
[[He introduces himself]]
[[He does not introduce himself]]Dexter eats his leftover spaghetti and continues working until 5 pm. He takes the train home and life repeats again tomorrow. He will never randomly discover the secret society known as Prometheus. Prometheus will gain world domination and continue to push their domination through the everyday use of technology.
''GAME OVER''
[[END|Prologue]] [[Continue|He does not introduce himself]]Dexter is bored. He tries some commands on his computer from the cheat sheet to play around. He plays through multiple folders.
Finds a hidden folder with linux command ls -a. Inside the folder is a file called README.txt. Inside the file, it talks about a secret society known as Prometheus. They want world domination, and they are obtaining it through everyday use of technology. They are gathering wealth from consumerism and enslaving the population. This is causing natural disasters, pollution and mass environment health issues.
Dexter is shocked. He quickly looks around the office to see if anyone is looking at him. Like him, all his co-workers are also an everyday person and are looking aimlessly into their Excel workbook. He needs to tell someone
[[Dexter reports his findings to his boss.]]
[[Dexter knows he cannot email Tara with the corporate email. They are listening.]]

She is one of the only people aware of the disturbing Prometheus Conspiracy and has been dedicating her life to stopping it for years. She will do whatever it takes to bring it down once and for all and restore peace and justice to Toyorko.
Tara already knows about the files on the corporate network. She was the one who placed it there. The reason she ran the lunch-and-learn is to find/recruit people who are curious enough to seek more. She asks him if he would join her to take down Prometheus.
[[You are now working for her.]]
[[You are scared.]]
You have been hacked. The Prometheus group found out you were trying to take them down. You should have been smarter not to talk on a platform they have complete access to.
''GAME OVER''
[[END|Prologue]]Tara tells you there is a secret meeting being held tonight at the Fairmont hotel. Prometheus is gathering tonight to discuss new climate laws put in place. The job is to secretly gain access to the meeting and take out the leader, M. Zucc.
She then proceeds to ask Dexter if he knows of a M. Zucc. Do you tell her the truth?
[[Yes, you tell her your father is the leader and you are trying to take him down]]
[[No, you don't tell her your father is the leader]]
You are used to the everyday man lifestyle. Risk is not your #1 choice. You turn her down.

At the hotel, a security guard catches Dexter and
Tara going up an unauthorized staircase. He asked them if they are part of Prometheus.

[[END|Prologue]]Once they reached the top floor, they used suction cups to climb the window exterior of the hotel. They then proceed to use ropes to crash into the hotel room Prometheus was meeting in, breaking through windows. Tara gets shot by security guards. After killing all the security guards, Dexter is looking straight into his father's eyes. He has a clear shot of his father, M. Zucc. He has so many questions. Why? Why was he never around during Dexter’s childhood? Does Dexter kill his father?

CARLETON UNIVERSITY 10 minutes pass and Tara makes little progress due to the vast amount of encryptions that need to be bypassed. She sighs and takes a deep breath while reaching for her large double-double coffee. Her enjoyment of coffee is cut short when a woman pops her head up from the cubicle next to her. “Do you have a pen I could borrow, I can't find mine?” She says. Tara stares at her pen.
[[Give the woman the pen.]]
[[Lie and say you don’t have a pen at the moment.]]Tara realizes that there is not much time left if she wants to stop M. Zucc. She decides that the only person capable of such a task is Dexter. Tara makes sure to secure the facade screen and transfers her progress onto her laptop. Tara asks the woman in the cubicle next to her if she knows where Dexter is and the woman replies with “The new guy? Yea I think he is in the breakout room.” Tara grabs her laptop and heads to the breakout room.

Tara tries bringing her facade screen back up but the question box won’t allow it. Tara begins to panic, “Shit! I need to get through this damn thing!” Shortly after, Stephen is at the cubicle next to hers and Tara begins to scramble for an answer. She hears Stephen talking to that woman who asked her for the pen. “Did you write out that letter I told you to make?” He asks. I need to get through this damn thing!” She hears Stephen talking to that woman who asked her for the pen and begins to scramble for an answer. “Did you write out that letter I told you to make?” He asks. The woman happily responds by saying, “yes I did! Here you go!”. “Thank you,'' he says, “you know we could use more reliant people like you around here”. Tara manages to figure out within those few extra seconds that the answer was a stamp and the box disappears. Stephen pokes his head in Taras cubicle and sees everything is fine and he carries on with inspecting the others.
[[Accessing the mainframe]] Tara walks into the breakout room and sees Dexter alone and leaning over a table with a clipboard in his hand. Dexter looks up at Tara and frowns “This company really loves making sure their workers are always busy”, he taps at the clipboard “So much to do in such a small amount of time.”
Tara tilts her head and smirks, “You have no idea.” Dexter chuckles and says, “You on break too?” Tara hesitates for a second in her response and says, “what do you really think about this company?”
Dexter raises his eyebrow and says, “why would you ask me such a thing?” Tara quickly says, “Just answer the question Dexter.”
He quietly says, “Well I try to keep my head down but I don’t always agree with their methods.”
Tara reaches for his arm and firmly grabs it, “come with me, there’s not much time left”, “time left for what” he says, Tara drags him out into the back of the breakout room and says, “in saving the world.”
[[Joined Forces]]
[[Turn Back]]Dexter asks too many questions and Tara struggles to keep up with answers due to her stressful state of mind on sticking to the timeframe of getting to the server room.
[[Joined Forces]] Dexter pulls out of Taras grip and says, “where are we going, what are we doing?”. Tara angrily looks back at Dexter and says, “I need you to get me into the server room in the basement, if I can directly access it with my laptop then destroying M. Zucc’s plans for world domination would be much more efficient”. Dexter is shocked but agrees and realizes he should just keep his head down and follow Taras plan. After all, he has a family to save.
[[Entering the Server Room]]Tara gets caught up in small talk with a bunch of her co-workers on the way to the breakout room. When Tara finally gets to the breakout room, Dexters gone.
''TURN BACK''
[[The Breakout Room]]Dexter leads Tara to the server room and swipes his keycard to open the door. Tara begins analyzing the room and finds a nice dark corner to set up in. Tara directs Dexter to keep watch for anything while she breaks through the firewalls and encryptions. The clock’s ticking, only one hour left until M. Zuccs plan takes place. Thanks to her superior knowledge in hacking, she manages to access the kill switch on the execution of M. Zucc’s world domination. However, she can only keep it open for a few seconds while the servers are shut down. Tara questions if she can really trust Dexter with such a task due to his inexperience in what this plan is capable of doing. She thinks to herself, “Can I really trust him?”
[[Trust Him]]
[[Don’t Trust Him]]Tara looks up at Dexter and says, “Ok everything’s ready but I can only keep it open for a few seconds. When I shut down the servers you have to activate the kill switch, it’s all up to you.”
Tara begins having second doubts of trusting Dexter when he hesitates to confirm that he is ready. He starts shaking and says, “h-how do I know what you are doing is right? M. Zucc was responsible for many good things.” Tara’s voice is filled with desperation and says, “Dexter you just have to trust me! If you don’t do this then everything will be gone! Your family, your friends… everything… please Dexter.” Dexter nods his head in agreement. Tara shuts down the servers and yells at Dexter to flip the switch.
//fwip//
Silence fills the air for what seemed like an eternity. Dexter breaks the silence by saying, “is it over?” Tara nods her head and says, “yes, yes it’s all over.”
[[You Won|Prologue]] Tara doesn’t say anything to Dexter and prepares to shut down the servers and flip the kill switch herself. She strongly believes that Dexter can’t comprehend the reality behind M. Zucc’s plan and would screw things up with his hesitation. Tara shuts down the servers and immediately runs for the switch. Unfortunately, Dexter stops her from getting to the switch.

[[END|Prologue]] After closing up the system and dismantling from the ladder, you notice that the sound is only getting louder. All eyes are on you, and bystanders are holding their ears. From the corner of your eye you notice a blur of purple. It’s a girl running towards you, purple hair blazing behind her as she runs. “You, in the blue, stop. I am asking you to stop.”
[[Stop]]
[[Run Away]]The sound omitting from the camera system is getting louder and louder. When you focus, it sounds slightly like high-pitched versions of popular corporate jingles. If you notice, others will too, and that will cause the fall of Prometheus. That can’t happen on your account. You look into the camera system again, the issue isn’t obvious at first, but soon you’re able to turn down the volume. Knowing now that the sharp sound is controlling the public into purchasing products from the Prometheus corporation, what should you do?
[[Turn it all the way down, and return to do the same on the other systems.]]
[[Turn all the systems volumes up, this way everyone can hear it and know what’s happening.]]
You stop in your tracks and turn towards the girl. “Follow me,” she says, looking around as if someone may be following. The young girl leads you to a nearby alley, where she explains to you the Prometheus is not as it seems. There is a group of young people in Toyorko who know the truth. Prometheus is working to take over the city. The young girl's name is Tara. She’s a talented hacker who’s been working to unravel the work Prometheus is doing. She was in the middle of dismantling the surveillance cameras and their ‘soundlocations’ which influences mass consumption of Prometheus goods. You have access to the inside and can help take down Prometheus. You can be the hero, should you choose to accept it?
[[Be the Hero]]
[[Leave Tara Behind.]]All your life, you have heard that you would never amount to anything. You’ve stumbled your way through life, trying to do your best with everything that you do. The day that you chose to help Tara and her team, you changed your fate. You saved all of Toyorko and slowly, but surely unravelled the system that your father, M. Zucc, built. You are the Hero.
[[You Won|Prologue]]The decision that you made to leave Tara behind that day paid-off. Knowing the truth, you work to uncover the inner workings of Prometheus. A couple weeks after meeting her, you see Tara on the cover of every newspaper. She was tried and killed for treatery. After sometime, though you may not know how, your subpar actions cause Prometheus to fall. Toyorko is safe.
[[You Won|Prologue]]You run away from the girl (after all you’ve never been a fan of confrontation). You hear yelling around you. You may be new to the job, but you know that confidentiality is key. Now there is yelling in the streets, and the girl with the purple hair is telling everyone around about what you are doing. She’s telling them not to listen to the sound. It’s Prometheus controlling them. Everyone knows, and you’re the fall of Prometheus. Take a deep breath, this will be your last.
''GAME OVER''
[[END|Prologue]] After turning all the systems volumes all the way down, you return to the office. There are two men waiting for you in front of your desk. They are dressed in black suits, sunglasses on indoors, just like those ‘secret service’ members you’ve always heard about. “We have been waiting for you. M. Zucc is waiting for you.”
[[Meet with M. Zucc. He’s your father after all...]]
[[Run Away!]]The heads of bystanders around you all turn and look at you. Parents are covering the ears of their children. The gears in everyone’s heads turn, until they click. Prometheus is using sound waves to control the public. And now everyone knows. You saved all of Toyorko from M. Zucc’s plan for domination.
[[You Won|Prologue]]You nod your head, telling the men in front of you that you’ll come with them. They lead you down to the building's basement and towards an elevator you knew nothing about. “Get in”, the men tell you, “The elevator is pre-programmed, don’t touch anything.” The elevator ride is short and soon you’re in an office, with 360 views of the city below. M. Zucc stands in front of you, his back turned towards you. He explains that by being discreet and working on all the camera systems without altering bystanders, you’ve proven your loyalty to Prometheus. The company is now yours to run. It’s time for your father to move on, to take control of another city. Afterall, the conspiracy theorists are on to him. The day started off normal, it started off very ordinary. But it is extraordinary now. YOU choose how the company goes, either good or bad.
[[You Won|Prologue]]
You turn and attempt to run away. When you’re only a few feet away, you hear a bang and feel a sharp pain in your back. You were shot… by your fathers henchman.
''GAME OVER''
[[END|Prologue]]The office is quiet, it seems as though everyone was sent on field assignments. There is yelling coming from your boss’s office. He’s on the phone with someone, telling them that the “project” will be completed today once everyone returns. You learn that Prometheus is planning to inject all employees with chips. These will be implanted as a surveillance technique and to control employees.
[[Warn the others.]]
[[Use this as leverage.]]You go out into the field to complete your mission. Along the way you corrupt the system to work in your favour. Unknowingly you take down the company and have the jenga blocks come crashing down. The Prometheus group comes falling down. You are a Hero, whether you meant to be or not.
[[You Won|Prologue]] In warning the others, you get yourself noticed by the elites in company. And not in a good way. Being the son of M.Zucc does not give you immunity. You pay for your crimes, with your life.
''GAME OVER''
[[END|Prologue]] You walk into your bosses office. He looks at you, knowing that you’ve heard everything. Together you work out a deal. You will be promoted if you don’t share the information with your co-workers. You are granted immunity from the chip and become a member of the elites.
''GAME OVER''
[[END|Prologue]] You’re in the middle of replacing a wire when a girl with purple hair approaches you. “What are you doing?”
[[Tell her, she seems harmless.]]
[[Question her motives.]]
You call your boss, he tells you to replace the wire and come back to the office quickly.
[[Go back now.]]
[[Check out the others first, maybe it was just one.]]When you get back to the office, there are suited men waiting for you at your desk. They interrogate you for hours, before bringing you to a small sterile room. You’re strapped to a chair and soon your memory goes blank. You wake up… it was all a simulation.
''GAME OVER''
[[END|Prologue]] You go to each of the other surveillance systems and find them all to be in the same shape, wires cut and tampered with.
[[Go back with all the information.]]
[[Try to fix them, you want to do your best at your new job.]]
Double-click this passage to edit it.When you return back to the office, you’re called into your boss’s office. He explains to you that by not returning immediately, you’ve brought too much attention to the task. M. Zucc is angry and you are now the fall of Prometheus. You will pay for these crimes.
''GAME OVER''
[[END|Prologue]] Though you didn’t listen to your boss’s original instructions to return right away, it pays off. The systems are working perfectly, and members of your team are able to discover who cut the wires from old video footage. The perpetrators have been arrested and charged. Prometheus owes you their gratitude.
''GAME OVER''
[[END|Prologue]] After explaining to the young girl that your boss sent you to fix the sound systems, she (Tara) tells you about their purpose. Prometheus is using high pitched commercials to influence the mass public into consumption and to control their subconscious.
[[Stay loyal to Prometheus.]]
[[Help the Tara take down Prometheus.]]
You work for Prometheus, whatever some young girl says doesn’t matter. She explains that she was just wondering, but you notice that she’s holding a pair of pliers. She was the one who cut the wire.
[[Report Her]]
[[Turn a Blind Eye]]With the new information that you have, and the personal information that Tara gave you, you hold the power to take down the conspiracy theorists or turn a blind eye. By giving the information over to your boss, you’ve proven your loyalty and allowed Prometheus to take down outsider threats. You have stumbled your way to the top.
''GAME OVER''
[[END|Prologue]] You join Tara and become her eyes on the inside. Using messaging apps (not owned by Prometheus), you tell Tara everything you know and what your boss is doing. She is able to stop damage to society before it happens. Prometheus falls. You may be out a job once again but everyone is better for it.
[[You Won|Prologue]] You report the incident to your boss, you have video footage of it after all. You are now a prized member of Prometheus, as you took down one of the company's biggest threats. You may not know why everyone is praising you, but they are.
''GAME OVER''
[[END|Prologue]] You turn a blind eye, and a couple weeks later you’re sent out to fix the systems once again. This time they’ve been attacked externally by a hacker and you must replace the corrupt computer systems. It is later discovered that you didn’t take action against the threat when it was right in front of you. You are pushed for your actions.
''GAME OVER''
[[END|Prologue]] Dexter, it is now time to infiltrate from the inside out. Taking this corrupt organization down to the ground. You are the hero the world does not know they needed. You are now ready to make the next move.
[[Continue|It is time for you to recruit like minded people to take the other side down.]] You have been hacked. The Prometheus group found out you were trying to
take them down. You should have been smarter not to talk on a platform
they have complete access to.
''GAME OVER''
[[END|Prologue]]
It is a necessity to get her key card activated again. That key card will grant you all access to the Holiday Building technology where you will guard the door while Tara breaks down the firewall.
[[You and Tara just received confirmation on the key card.]]You must now devise a plan to get to the top floor covered by video
surveillance cameras and guardsmen.
Choose the plan:
[[Plan número uno]]
[[Plan numéro douce]]Take the risk of Tara’s key card working to grant access to the top secret floor number 52. Then Tara and you sneak past the armed guards leading you towards the motherboard room. Then you must disarm the alarm to the door that only M.Zucc can enter. In there you will find the hard drive with all of their personal. With this information you can hand it over to the authorities who can prosecute the guilty to the fullest extent of the law. This information includes; names, money, incriminating emails, drop off locations, and every Son of Mars’ nightmares. However, if her key card fails, YOU and Tara will die.
''GAME OVER''
[[END|Prologue]] Tara must disclose her location trying to break down the firewall while you are inside of the building. You have a 10 minute window of full access to rooms, the elevator, all surveillance cameras will shut off, security guard walkie talkie connection will temporarily be disabled. This gives you enough time to get to the 52nd floor without the guards stopping you, cameras will not be able to capture your movement making them unaware of your location. The door to the motherboard room will be unlocked and you should have enough time to get in and get out with the hard drive. With this information you can hand it over to the authorities who can prosecute the guilty to the fullest extent of the law. However, since you will be disclosing the location of Tara, as she needs to be inside the building breaking down the firewall. If you do not collect the hard drive within the 10 minute window, she will die.
[[Plan #2 in play]]Tara sits in the lobby with MSI GS66 Stealth she first gets the Nmap tool to disassemble the network of the guards communication. Then she uses a tool known as Metasploit, this hacks the security system allowing access everywhere in the building. It’s time for you to make your first move. Head to the elevator and go to floor 52. As you enter the floor you see guards frantically trying to contact other guards as they worry they lost connection. They are so distracted this allows you to make it to the motherboard. Tara then sets aircrack-Ng into the firewall. They know where she is and she is now getting carried away by security. You have 5 minutes to get the hard drive and get downstairs where authorities will be waiting. You are now in the room. The hard drive is just sitting there looking at you. You go up to it and open the case. Behind you the door opens. It’s your father. He says “Hi, son nice to finally meet you. But if you touch that drive, I think this will be the last you will see of me.”
[[Choose to grab the hard drive and push through your biological father and go downstairs.]]
[[Be rich but ultimately kill Tara.]]
The authorities will be waiting for you and you can take down this corrupt organization along with the corrupt man behind it. Tara will be set free and you will be known as a hero just like you wanted in the beginning. Just like the destination you initially choose.
[[You Won|Prologue]]
Leave the hard drive and work with your father making millions of dirty dollars for the rest of your life causing harm on the whole human race. Tara will be killed as they think this is all her fault, and you're just a small town man who happened to enter the wrong room.
Your father killed you!
''GAME OVER''
[[END|Prologue]]
Tara began arguing with a pro-Holiday user whose post got enough reshares and likes to make it to her timeline. Maybe she will argue some sense into him, she thought. The thread of replies between Tara and the user have caused a viral flamewar, but she can’t stop now. After an hour, the moderators caught wind and began suspending and banning accounts. Most of which were Martians or people who spoke against Holiday. Tara’s account ended up being locked for posting. Her account was shackled to silence.
[[You have (1) new message]]Tara made an account on the notorious “Martianfront” forum. The place was full of a lot of diverging conspiracy madness and phobias of different types of people. This was too much of a mess, possibly a dead end. Tara makes a post on the forum, with the title saying “I want to know the REAL truth about Prometheus”
After a few trolling answers, one user looked serious…
[[The answer is in front of you]]
AnonDman: “Holiday Industries isn’t what you think it is.”
Tara thinks, “Maybe I should block this person.”
She decides to reply, “What is Prometheus?”
[[The answer is in front of you]]
“The answer is in front of you. Who owns the phones? The news? The social media? The internet?”
Little did Tara know, this anonymous user was Dexter De Laurentis.
Tara logged into her Holiday employee account and began searching in the archives for any projects that looked fishy.
There was one from 2014 called the “Crux Project” which was dedicated to pattern recognition - which meant profiling. A person's identity, social media interests, writing pattern, all the way down to their facial structure would be profiled to mark them as suspicious actors. The Crux Project was made to be applied to Holiday’s products. The details were left vague there.
Tara’s stomach sunk a bit. She has been working for Holiday Industries for over a year, but never tried to see the inner workings of the company. She recently moved cities and has been promoted to a research project - for a new algorithm that will improve search results for Holiday’s Spartan Security product, as well as Blinker and SnapGram social media platforms.
This was a life-changing decision to make. To go against //Holiday Industries//. Tara took her meds and headed to bed. Maybe when she woke up, she would be bold enough to start a digital rebellion.
[[The Office]]Tara is planning out her day at Holiday Industries - one of, if not the most largest corporate conglomerates in the world. She kept reminding herself of that before she would potentially blow her life up.
//She had to make an impression on her new coworkers - as the brand new transfer. Should she look the part or stick to her unique identity?//
On her way to the new building, she wondered if Holiday was truly hiding something. With her insider position in the company, she’s the only person that could find out...
[[Corporate Bee]]
[[Purple Hair, Don’t Care]]Good thinking, Tara. Fitting in does work wonders. The executive director of the Security division, Stephen, notices her from across the floor. He invites her into his office and babbles on about the project she’s been hired for.
“-...I can’t wait to see what you bring to improve the algorithm, Ms. Stryde.”
Before Tara can respond, Stephen’s assistant interrupts them for a meeting reminder with “M. Zucc.” Tara thinks of the opportunity this may present. She also thinks to herself, “who in the world is M. Zucc?”
[[Tour]]
[[Snooping]]
Tara’s self expression turns heads as she enters the polished, monochrome and glass office. Her coworkers could be described as the same, cogs in the machine. She finds her cubicle, sets her Superhero Funko-Pops on her desk and gets to work. There’s two ways she could go about this. Subtly hacking from her work computer to find out more about Holiday, or waiting until after-hours to break in.
[[C1PH3R is ONLINE]]
[[Clock Strikes Midnight]] “Speaking of work, I would love a tour of the database. I heard it's chilled and has its own AI attached to it and everything...” Tara said. Stephen tells his assistant to push back the meeting, and leads Tara to the motherboard of data that she really came here for. All she had to do was get private access to it.
“I know you’re the director of this division, but I was wondering if you’ve heard of the Crux Project?” Tara asked Stephen.
[[De Nile isn’t a River]]
“Thank you so much for the warm welcome, Stephen. I wouldn’t want to impose…” Stephen excuses himself, but lets Tara stay in his office. Now is her chance! Does she go for it and let her device transfer files from his computer, or pass up?
[[Snoop|CAUGHT]]
[[Pass up]]“I can’t say that I’m familiar with it, Tara. I can show you around the database though, come right in..!” Stephen said.
Tara smiled as a distraction while she put her remote drive into the database. Now, she will have full access to it when she plans on hacking into Holiday from home tonight. She was going to see what Holiday was up to herself.
[[Finish up, then get to hacking|Clock Strikes Midnight]]Tara decides to copy the files from her boss. She puts her remote driver in Stephen’s computer. A few minutes later, there is some commotion outside. It’s the security for Holiday Industries. Before entering the room, they yell at Tara to put her hands up and back away from the computer.
The security guard unlocked Tara’s phone, revealing her research on Prometheus and messages with other members of the conspiracy and hackers.
“This will be enough for 10 years, at minimum. Sorry it had to be this way, Stryde…”
''GAME OVER''
[[END|Prologue]] Tara is smart enough to know that patience is key. She’s going to wait until tonight to find out what Holiday is hiding...
Stephen walks in with a smile on his face and says that there’s free vegan donuts in the break room. Oh joy. After stuffing herself with some vegan donuts, she walks to her cubicle and begins her tasks.
[[C1PH3R is ONLINE]]Tara spends a few moments making a facade screen, to open as a cover if her manager walks past her. Afterwards, she starts looking for breaches in Holiday’s servers.
//Found one.//
“Classified files on Crux, that’s weird…” Tara thought to herself. “Defense contracts? But this isn’t about Spartan Security…. This is social media. Search engines. SnapGram and Blinker are involved?”
This was more than Tara imagined. The Martians may have had some truth to what they were saying after all about user data being used against them. Anyone who uses social media, search engines, or phones by Holiday would be vulnerable. Holiday sold people’s data to outside parties, including the police. Someone who went to an anti-corruption protest would have been arrested because of their user data being bought by the government - all because they used Holiday’s products.
[[Post a leak]]
[[Wait until tonight]]
If you installed the drive in the server, the hacking time for Tara is much faster.
After hours of cracking the code, Tara opened a Pandora’s Box worth of secrets. The Martians mixed their truths with fiction, but the danger from Holiday was real.
The law has not caught up with technology. Holiday has profiles on Ministers, Presidents, Executives, Board Members…
Data collected from their activity on social media and accounts with Holiday. Holiday is farming data for power.
Tara knew that she didn’t want to be identified as a Martian, as there was too much fake news attached to the movement. She would be instantly discredited if she came out as a real person and whistleblower. She had to expose Holiday as a hacker - as C1PH3R. The question was how could she do it? Not on her own. She had to find someone close to the leader of Holiday, a person who could change the narrative with credibility.
Who was BEHIND Holiday?
[[Continue Research...]]Tara decided it was time to give a win to the small guy. She copies the evidence of what Crux was really used for and posts it on Martianfront. It was up to the Martians to manage that information.
She gets back to doing her normal job and in a few hours, there is outrage against Holiday on social media caused by the Martians. Holiday releases a statement about defamation. Journalists from DigiPOST call Crux fake news from conspiracy theorists. People who post about Crux are being suspended or banned on SnapGram and Blinker as a result of attacking employees from Holiday and DigiPost.
As for Holiday, any trace evidence of the Crux project is erased from their websites like they had never existed.
[[A Taste of Victory]]Tara decided it would be smarter to wait until night to do a full scale hack on Holiday to cripple them. She has been a part of the problem, and it was up to her to fix it.
[[Clock Strikes Midnight]] Tara has opened a whole new can of beans, hell, she just started a war with Holiday. It was exhilarating and scary, but she wasn’t going to stop today. She planned on exposing Holiday tonight.
[[Clock Strikes Midnight]] It took a lot more digging and chugging energy drinks, but Tara was able to pin down a name. “M. Zucc.” She has vaguely heard his name before and could not even find his first name. He showed up in majority of the company’s decisions after she aggregated the data from the servers. Another important tidbit she found was that M. Zucc kept a close eye on one person.
A clumsy assistant of M. Zucc left a file open for Tara to discover… It was a paternity test. Dexter De Laurentis was M. Zucc’s son. Dexter happened to work in the same building as Tara, so she could convince him to join her.
[[Expose M. Zucc to his Son]]
[[Expose M. Zucc to the World]]As C1PH3R, she sends an anonymous message to Dexter with a few files exposing his father and Holiday.
Tara was convinced. M. Zucc was not only the leader of Prometheus - he WAS Prometheus.
Now it was up to Dexter to make his decision. Tara paused. Was she going to wait for Dexter, or do this on her own?
[[Wait for Dexter]]
[[Expose M. Zucc to the World]]Dexter was in shock. In fact, he did not reply to C1PH3R after a few days. Eventually, he knew what was the right thing to do. He accepted C1PH3R’s proposal to take down M. Zucc and Holiday Industries… on one condition.
Do it right.
Dexter came out as a public advocate against Holiday and M. Zucc, gradually exposing their control over data with their monopoly on technology. Tara was a help to Dexter, from outside of the limelight. The two of them gathered enough support from the people to force the politicians to change their stances.
2 years later, there are bills passed on data and privacy protection for users.
Dexter runs a service to “detox” people from fake news and bring them back to reality.
Tara founded a firm against data collection abuse and protection of client privacy. She still hacks companies that act like Holiday in her free time.
[[You Won|Prologue]]
Tara decided that it was time to change the way that society used data. She locked the Holiday server into a transfer to offshore servers, away from the grid and clutches of Holiday Industries. With that taking place, she powered up her work computer to send out copies of Holiday’s secrets to the internet. It would expose her identity as a criminal and she would have to be on the run for the rest of her life. If her work computer was shut down, the offshore servers would deliver information automatically to the internet. Tara is hailed by conspiracy theorists and freedom fighters. She’s vilified by the state and media… not to mention Holiday themselves. This would go down as one of the biggest events in history related to data and privacy.
Tara Stryde has become another “Snowden”...
Tara called some of her friends from the underground to shuffle her into life of being an unknown. It was scary and Tara’s life would not be guaranteed to last. M. Zucc was exposed by her and she was the target in his hunting game now.
There were only two outcomes for Tara now. Running for the rest of her life, or death...
Holiday's exposure prompted people to demand from their governments and companies to change their policies and practices. No more using people's data for profit and power. The “wild-west” of technology would come to an end after this incident.
//Game Over?//
