Rules / Hints / Help
You are guiding your character through their formative years in the medieval fantasy setting.
The main action happens inside your head (aka Mind Map). That's where you choose what stats
to invest in, and sometimes fight your inner demons. You have limited Time and Mental Health
each turn to allocate for the actions on the Mind Map.
Every Mind Map level has two exits, each of them leading your character to one of 6 core moods:
Happy, Sad, Anxious, Angry, Depressed, and Motivated.
Each mood has its upside and downside in terms of stats distribution on the given level,
and has a secret effect that you discover mid-game. Every time you use an exit, your Level
increases, and higher Levels offer higher stat increments.
The Knowledge you collect on the Mind Map can be used to Study new skills.
There are over 100 different skills in the game, with some of them only available depending
on your starting profession.
Each inner demon (aka Monster) has a weakness: melee, archery, or magic. They start
dealing less damage to you when you advance the corresponding skills, up to 15 less. You can only
fight a Monster if you have enough Mental Health (or one of the special powers). Defeating the
monster increases your Resilience by MONSTER_HP2 ÷ 100.
The special powers (tracked in the bottom left corner) are single-use, and do not stack.
Once you bulk up your stats a bit, it makes sense to participate in Tournaments. Your power
in a tournament is determined by the sum of relevant stats multiplied by their weights, and
compounded by relevant skills. There are two tournament types: all against each other, or a bracket
of pairs. In the first type of tournament, everyone rolls a dice, and gets -50%, -25%, 0%, 0%, 25%, 50%
boost depending on the dice value, and then these values are compared against each other.
In the second type of tournament, the dice rolling happens anew in every round, and you need
to defeat every opponent to be victorious.
Finally, when you have nothing left to do, you can choose to End Turn. Here you pick
5 skills you want to practice this turn, and gain the corresponding stat boost / money. You
also have a slight chance to master each skill, which improves your chances in tournaments.
The game finishes after 36 turns, when you are conscripted into the army. Your final achievements
in the army are based on the skills you managed to master - up to 3 per playthrough.
