A crowd of students walk across a long stage draped with a red curtain.They shake hands of other adults standing adjacent from them in a line. They're all wearing apricot and green academic mortarboards and black gowns while holding folders emboirdered in gold. People cheer and applaused as students' names are called.

Kanashimi: “You know, I haven’t been able to sleep lately. I can’t believe this is real.”
Kōri: “So what’s next, bro?
Kūki: “Some partying, dude.”
Tsuki...

[[*shakes head and giggles* “I knew you were going to say that.”->Choice 2B.]] "I don't understand what would've possessed me to think of you guys as professionals. Are you going to just drink and party all your lives? You know what, nevermind. Don't answer that as I'm sure your answer will be //yes//."
Tsuki walks away, disappointed and frustrated.
(link-goto:"<-- Return","Passage #2")Tsuki listens to the other guys, babbling amongst themselves. He skims around the small area taking everything in. A baggie of washbi peas and peanuts are given to each student. It's adorned with a tag that says "Congrats, grad of 2020!"
A table decorated in papers and pins and bumper stickers sits in the middle of the small greeting area. One student fusses with an underclassmen passing out papers. In a corner, a backdrop of "We Did It, 2020!" in metallic gold hangs will students pose with friends and family.
[[Next->Passage #3]]Tsuki stands to the left of Kanashimi, 23, smiling. He looks over to the right and sees Mizu, 22, with two of her friends. She giggles amongst the girls and eyes Tsuki. She waves to them and walks away, but keeps her eye on Tsuki. He looks down and blushes. When he looks up, Mizu is gone.
Tsuki looks around to see where she has gone, but he sees no signs or traces of her.
Kōri: "Hey Tsuki, come on!"
[[Next->Passage #4]]Tsuki grabs two duffle bags and tosses them into the back of his burgundy-colored Suburban truck. Kōri and Kūki, both carry coolers full of drinks and a suitcase of snacks in the back of a hunter-green sedan. Kanashimi packs a first aid kit and marijuana.
They decide to split up two per car. Kōri jumps in the car with Kanashimi because he has the marijuana. Kūki rides with Tsuki. As they are both backing out of their mom's driveway. Kūki leaves his phone on the front of the hood as they back out. He yells for Tsuki to stop and jumps out the car to grab his phone.
Kūki: "That thing cost almost $900 dollars!"
Tsuki and Kanashimi's mother waves goodbye to the guys as they back up into the street. She throws each one of them a kiss, they return the gesture.
The guys continue down the road one behind the other. Tsuki turns on some rock music and they venture onto the interstate.
[[Next->Passage #5]]Later, Kōri asleep in the backseat and Kanashimi cruises through traffic, pacing hisself to keep his eyes on the road. Tsuki speaks to him briefly on the phone suggests for him to take a break. He stops at a pit stop to grab an energy drink...

When Kanashimi exits the bathroom, he walks back out to the car. He carries a bag with two energy drinks and a pack of Newport cigarettes. When Kanashimi jumps in the car he realizes Kōri's up. Kanashimi tosses back a Fluvoxamine, pops open a Monster, and chugs it down. Kōri snatches the other drink and gulps it down. He reaches in the back and grabs a drink from the cooler. Kanashimi eyes him curiously as he cranks the car back up.

[[Next->Passage #7]]Kanashimi returns. Kōri has awaken and got comfortable in the passenger's seat. He cranks up the car and backs out of the parking lot. He checks both ways before entering onto the highway.
Kanashimi:"What are you doing?"
Kōri: "I'm riding. I think you need to rest."
Kanahimi: "And if I don't want to, who's going to make me?!"
Kōri: "Me..." As he turns up the volume on the radio.
Kanashimi turns the radio back down.

[[“Ignore him”->Choice 7A.]] Tsuki turns over and takes a nap. When Tsuki wakes up, they have pulled up at the resort. The twins complain about growling stomachs and the lack of energy.
Kanashimi: "Grab my things. I don't have money to be wasting like that.
Kōri: "Do you need help?'
Kanashimi: No, I got it. If I need any, I know where to come.
[[Return->Passage #7]] Kanashimi: “I hate him, but all I got to do is get him to the cabin to his brother.”
The two continues down the road. Kōri turns the volume up on the radio. Loud guitar strings and drums fill the air. Kanashimi opts to put on his headphones to calm his nerves. He discovers a channel specifically for jazz music. He relaxes in his seat, but the alcohol is activating in Kōri's system as he slaps the earphones out of Kanashimi's ear. This sends his heart rate up. He grabs his chest while gasping for air.

[[right->Passage #11]]The SUV swings to the right, causing it to swerve to the shoulder of the highway. The car stops nearly missing the side ramp. Kūki yells while sobbing, not knowing were the phone fell.

911 dispatcher: "Hello? 911 is on their way to you. Hold on."

[[Next->Passage #12]]Just when Kūki relaxes, a drunk driver speeding down the highway from behind, swerves back and front down the right lane. He side-swipes the SUV. Kūki and Tsuki goes tumbling down a long hill in the SUV before it stops, lodged between two trees.
911 dispatcher: "Hello, hello! What's going on? Can you hear me? The fire truck should be very close! Please hold on, they are coming!"

[[right->Choice 12B.]]White light fills a small room. Tsuki and Kanashimi sit in what looks like a large concert hall, but it is a college auditorium. They whisper amongst one another.
Tsuki: “So what should we do?”
Kanashimi: “Well, of course we can go hiking, skiing, and snowboarding.”
Tsuki: “That’s true, but I want to do something we haven’t done. I think we should do mountain climbing.”
Kanashimi: *laughs* “That doesn’t sound like something you or I would do.”
Tsuki: “Well, who does it sound like?!”
Kanashimi: “Kōri and Kūki!”
The two laugh at the concidence of their thoughts. The memory fades into darkness.
[[Next->Passage #14]]As the darkness draws near, Tsuki finds himself standing alone. He reaches out his hand with hopes to see something, but finds nothing. He feels nothing and suddenly he knows nothing. A voice dances through the void as Tsuki tries to take in his surroundings.
Unknown: Shall we let him...

[[Wake Tsuki up.->Passage #15]]She looks up to find Tsuki staring back. She jumps up, lunges towards him, and places her hands around his left hand.
Suisei: “My dear son… I thought I would’ve lost you.”
She sobs as she lies her head on their hands.
Suisei: “I’m sorry, I am soooo sorry.”
[[Next->Passage #17]]She weeps and wheals. Tsuki stares at her, confused.

He pushes his mother back off the bed with his arm. He pulls the sheets back off him, the lower half of his body lie wrapped in bloody bandages. He screams in agony.

[[Next->Passage #19]]Doctors and nurses rush in the room. They ask Suisei to leave as they strap down his arms. He yells and screams as two nurses hold him down. A doctor injects him with a pain reliver and anesthesia. Suisei watches with regret that her son is in this much pain and confusion.
Unknown (Doctor): He suffered a really serious concussion. You should be glad he is still with us. He was thrown three feet from the car.
Suisei: I know doctor, but he doesn't know much of anything including, what happen to the others. He just knows he has no lower half.
Doctor: Ma'am, I know, but you got to help him re-learn everything. It's not going to be easy, but it will take time.
[[Next->Passage #20]]Three months later, Tsuki is able to move around via wheelchair. He wheels the chair up a wheelchair-accessible ramp until he reaches the top of the stairs. He rolls down the landing to his room. He opens the door and hears a voice. The voice sounds familiar, but his memory is faint.
[[Next->Passage #21]]Tsuki jots forward in his seat as he drives down a main highway. He turns to the right slightly and glances in the back seat. His best friend, Kūki sleeps peacefully in the back. Tsuki leans up against the steering wheel feeling light-headed. Kūki ...

[[tries to grab the wheel to gain control of the car->Choice 9B.]] He rolls slowly into the room and an old ball from his childhood rolls across the floor. It bumps up against the nightstand by in his bed and knocks over a picture of Kanashimi and him as kids.
Tsuki (aloud): "I know you want to speak to me, but I can't remember who you are. I just see we are in a picture together."
Tsuki rolls into the bathroom to take a bath.

Suisei: Hey, sweetheart. There is food in the fridge, feel free to call if you need anything. *Beep*

The indistinguishable message plays on the voicemail. Tsuki rolls into the kitchen and opens the fridge. The only thing edible is a pizza bought four days ago as it seems to be slightly frozen, a small jug of water, and some washibi peas. He slams the fridge door close and rolls to the counter.
From the voicemail: *Beep*
[[Next->Passage #25]]On the counter sits a fruit bowl. Inside the bowl is a bruised apple, banana, and an spotted orange. Tsuki grabs the bruised apple, wipes it off and takes a bite. The mushy apple disintegrate in his mouth. He rolls to the trash can and spits it out, throwing the rest of the apple in the trash.
The voicemail plays in the distance.

White noise fills the room followed by an uninterpreted sounds. As the white noise clears to a polish point, Tsuki stops in freeze frame as Kanashimi's voice plays.
Kanashimi: "Don't..be..deceived. Case...Cabin..K." *Beep*

[[answers.->Choice 28B.]]The following day, Tsuki sits down with his personal trainer, Mr. Sato after testing out the prosthetics.
Mr. Sato: "Mr. Hiroto, I understand you're frustration, but if you want to get back to moving around like you use to this is your only option. You stated you wanted to do things yourself without a hand out. What better way than to do it yourself?"
Tsuki rolls his eyes at Mr. Sato's rebuttal.
[[Next->Passage #30]]"I don't think, these crippled extentions will serve me much. You can take those legs and shover them!"
Mr. Sato: "Sir, that's enough. I'm trying to help and if you don't want my help that's fine. I'm done here for today."
Mr. Sato packs up his supplies and tools. A small vein appears in his forehead as he grits his teeth. He shovers each item in his carry-on duffle bag.
Mr. Sato: "Mr. Hiroto, I'll see you next month."
"Next month, I'm paying you every two weeks. You money hungry dog, you!"
Mr. Sato: "Good day, Mr. Hiroto."
Tsuki slams the front door behind himself. He goes upstairs to take a nap.
[[Next->Passage #31]]Tsuki rolls to his small elevator by the stairs and presses the button to call the elevator. Nothing. He presses it again and nothing happens.
"Stupid elevator, nothing ever works!"
He attempts to crawl up the stairs. He inches up the stairs with the momentum of a turtle. When he reaches the fifth step, he slips tumbling down a hit his head on a step.
"Noooo!"
He lays on the floor in pain and slightly consciencous. A small tear inches from his eye as the reminded of his injuries dawn on him. The silence of the house acknowledges the fact he is alone. He blacks out.
[[Next->Passage #32]]A tall, husky 10th grader stands in the middle of the street. He bolts forward trying to chase Tsuki, but runs into another student. He blocks the 10th grader.
10th grader: "You know, I really hate him. He acts like he has it all and knows it all."
Ahead, Kanashimi pushes Tsuki down the sidewalk towards an intersection.
"I wanted to punch him in his mouth again."
Kanashimi: "Tsuki, sometimes you have a quick temper."
"I don't think I have a quick temper, I just don't like anyone who tries to tell me what to do."
Kanashimi: "Tsuki, sometimes we need guidance...we don't always know it all."
"We don't but how do you know what I know unless I tell you."
Kanashimi: "Okay, you might have a point."
"I might have money, but I know how it is to be overlooked and ignored. Plus, I wasn't raised stupid. He was wrong to treat that boy that way."
It was at that time, Tsuki learned to speak up.

Tsuki eyes flutter as he wakes up. The remote for the elevator lies in front of his face.

He tries to glance down by the pain grows stronger. He finally manages to look down and see a sharp wand-shaped border sticking out of his body.
He breathes slowly as his body loses more and more blood. He ponders on all those who touched his life: Kanashimi, Kūki, Kōri, his mother, and some many others.
Kanashimi and Kūki run to the end of the cliff.

[[Return->Introduction]] The bat slams right into the delivery's arm causing him to drop the package. He screams profanities at Tsuki. Tsuki stands staring at the delivery guy in a state of shock. He takes in the angry delivery guy calling for the police, the fractured arm as lays beside the guy dangling, and the neighbors that exit their homes to see what's all the racket about. The police arrive to arrest Tsuki for assault with a deadly weapon. He is locked up and spends five years in jail.
[[Return->Passage #28]]The Delivery Guy: "This package is for you. If you can sign in these three places, you will be all good to go!"
Tsuki takes the clipboard and signs on the dotted line. The delivery guy gives him a tall, long cardboard box that is slightly heavy. Tsuki turns his wheelchair around and wheels the box into the living room. He opens the box and pulls out two chrome and stainless silver prosthetic legs. He picks one up to examine it and then the other. He brings them into his room and sit them in the corner in dread.
"I have a meeting with my personal trainer and I'm dreading to wear you, but I'm willing to walk again."
[[Next->Passage #29]]Three months later, Tsuki walks by Kanashimi's old room. He reaches for the doorknob, but drops his arm to his side before turning the knob. His head hangs low as water begin to fill his ducts. He pushes the urge away and rushes downstairs. He takes a deep breath at the end of the staircase and realizes the voicemail light flashing. He looks slightly to the left in a daze to evaluate if he has heard the phone ring.
"No."
He presses "play" on the phone's base.
Voicemail: "New message. Today, at 12:22 pm..."
Mr. Tanaka: "Great news, Mr. Hiroto. We have an offer from the judge if we can find the suspect guilty. I need you to gather the substational evidence you have to give us a lead and put your brother's death to justice. Call me when you get this message. Bye."
Tsuki presses 9.
Voicemail: "Message saved."
[[Next->Passage #35]]A minute later, the ambulance, police, and fire truck arrives and carries them both off to the hospital.
[[Next->Passage #13]]Tsuki plays the message on Kanashimi's missing cellphone. The background plays white noise until Kōri voice fades in.
Kōri:"Ever since we were in 10th grade, you always felt like you knew more than anyone else. You always had you life all planned out, Hiroto. Oh, he's has been offered a job as an emergency registered nurse at Yahama Hospital with a letter of recommendation from the dean. Even in high school, you been given a scholarship to a school of your choice, but you have money! Did you mother sleep with the dean? Are you his secret child?"
*SMACK* *THUD* The sounds of the car swerving in and out of the lane and choking becomes prevalent. *CRASH* A horn blairs in the background.
Tsuki becomes angry after hearing the tape of Kōri's bullying, he hadn't changed since high school. But this time, it costed him his brother's life. He throws a punch right into Kōri jaw, it snaps and cracks.
Kōri steps away, trying to check his face.
Kōri: "You son of a b.."
Kōri lunges forward towards Tsuki, they stussle and push one another. Each time, they inch closer and closer to the edge of the cliff.
[[Next->Passage #40]]Tsuki pushes for power and his knees buckle, then Kōri pushes for power and his knees buckle. Kōri tussles and pushes Tsuki. Tsuki grabs and yanks Kōri as he loses his balance and slips.
"This is for Kanashimi!"
Kōri throws him a confused look.
They both go tumbling over the edge of the cliff.
[[Next->Passage #41]] wheelchair, which starts rolling backwards. Tsuki tries to pull himself up as the chair rolls backwards. Eventually, he falls down again this time hitting the back of his head. He blacks out again, but doesn't wake up until a couple of hours later.

When he arrives at the edge of the staircase, he grabs the rail pulling his weight up on the legs. He nearly slips, but he motivates himself.
"If I want to be more dependent I have to do this. Forget others they always leave you when your down. I can do this...I'll do this for Kanashimi."
He manages his weight onto the legs and stands up straight. After he reaches the third step, he gains a momentum and continues up the stairs. Astonished with himself, he smirks and shakes his head.
"Kanashimi, you still empower me even from beyond the grave."
He gets ready for bed.
[[Next->Passage #34]]Tsuki looks down at a magazine sitting on the table. It has a man in snow attire and skis on a mountain. Tsuki immediately grabs his keys and self starts the car. He speeds out of the driveway and turns onto the main street.

Kūki paces back and forth in agony, while on the phone with 911.
Tsuki slowly loses consciousness as he loses a fight with death. The sound of crying and begging celebrates his exit.

Tsuki coughs up blood as his breathing becomes shallow.

The ambulance and fire truck pull up just in time, Kūki turns around, shocked.
Kūki to Tsuki: "Hold on. They're here."
Kūki to paramedics: "Hey, you guys he's over here. Please hurry he has started spitting up blood.
The ambulance and fire fighters rush over to assist. They manage to pull Tsuki out, but have to rush him to the hospital for injuries. Kōri is pronounced DOA at the scene.
Kūki picks up the cellphone hidden in the dirt.

The low beep continues in the background. He looks around the room and his mother, Suisei, sits on a windowsill staring out of a window.

Suisei: They were brought for you. Some of your family, friends, and loved ones thought they may cheer you up.
Balloons glides over Tsuki, but they were a little deflated. Each brushes up agains his face with their tails as the vent sent out a steady stream of air. Four vases full of Kinmokuseis, Umes, and Kikus sat in each corner of the room. The droopy pale yellow ones caught his attention as he saw them in his dreams.
Tsuki: What's that flower?
Suisei: Kikus.
Tsuki: Who brought them?
Suisei: Kanashimi's father brought them.
Tsuki sits and ponders why would a man bring such a thing.

Tsuki looked closely at the woman looking at him. She inches closer to him and he draws back, not knowing if she is crazy. He waves his hand towards her. She grabs his hand quickly, holds it close, and begins to sigh again. He tries to wiggle his hand from hers.
She looks at him with doe eyes, deep and longing. She searches his eyes for answers, but he shares none because he knows nothing.

Suisei: You're in the hospital.
Tsuki: Why am I here and who are you?
Suisei: That's why I'm here, to help you understand how you got here and I'm your mother.
Tsuki: No, you are not my mother died long ago.
Suisei shakes her head slowly from side to side as if she has given up.

[[Next->Passage #39]]Kūki freaks out and calls 911. When the dispatch answers, he goes off on a tangent about how life isn't fair and how he doesn't feel good.
Kūki tries to calm him down, so they can pull on the side of the road.
911 dispatcher: "Maybe, you should drink some fluids you could be dehydrated."
Tsuki's vision blacks out and he fall unconscious at the wheel.
