Many workers begin to literally die of exhaustion, and soon there is a worker’s revolt. Your palace is stormed by the working class, and you are thrown off of your balcony following a deadly beating. In your desire to please the neighboring kingdoms, you have sacrificed your entire empire, leaving you little more than a glorified mayor. Dejected, you decide it would be best for you to hang up the crown, passing on the empire to someone more worthy. This flooding causes crops across the empire to fail, and the ensuing famine claims thousands of lives. Your empire collapses around you, and you are left king of a land of corpses and sand. You find the blacksmith and his assistant hitting rocks together and making grunting sounds, completely divorced from the nuances of your modern society. Even in your own throne room, people have begun to fall to this disease.
