A faint voice bounces between your ears. Your eyes slowly peel open and you're greeted to complete darkness.
You stand and look around. Still complete darkness. The faint voice bounces in the empty void.

A numb and empty feeling follows as you walk through the void.
//Who am I?//
The voice grows louder. You can hear giggling and laughter coming from the far away distance.

"Is everything alright?" Lisa asks. "Not worried about our first date, right?"
"Yea... Yeah. I'm fine. Just spaced out a bit," you say. You continue to walk down the sidewalk. The dog continues to pull at the leash.
Lisa giggles. "Want me to take over walking her?"
"No, it's fine. She'll get used to me eventually." You two walk past an abandoned house when you hear something. You look over at the house and stop. All of the sounds around you fade away.
[[Continue walking]]
[[Investigate further]]You shrug past the house and continue walking. A cold breeze comes from behind. You look back one last time and see a child peering from the window before suddenly vanishing.
//That kid looks so familiar.//
You turn back around when an alley cat skitters in between your feet.
You jump and let go of the leash. The dog dashes forward, after the cat.
[[Chase after the dog]]You walk up to the house.
"What's wrong?" Lisa asks.
"I dunno. Something just feels off," you say. You walk even closer and the dog begins tugging at the leash. You notice a broken window and see something move.
Laughter from a child can be heard from inside. You walk closer and see a faint outline of a family. A husband, wife, and their son. They all look so happy.
A flash of darkness engulfs you. You look back at the family. The father and mother are now holding each other, sobbing. The child is laying motionless on the floor. "I should have paid more attention. It's all my fault," the father says.
Another flash of darkness hits you and the memory vanishes. The children of the void are now inches away from your face. The hooded figure grins at you from behind them. You jump when you flicker back into the memory.
You're on the ground and you hear screaming. Looking behind you, you see Lisa chasing after her dog.
[[You get up and run after them]]Lisa screams in the distance as you make your way closer.
Flashes of the void begin to overcome you once more. You continue to sprint down the street within each flash. Sobbing fills your ears as you follow Lisa's voice down an alley. Lisa stands at the end of it.
The flashes stop and you see her dog in the middle of a busy intersection.
[[Try to save the dog]]
[[Don't try to save the dog]]You and Lisa chase after the dog. It darts into another alley and both of you follow. You notice a busy intersection past the alley and the dog sprints into the middle of it.
You look around and see cars speeding towards the dog.
[[Try to save the dog]]
[[Don't try to save the dog]] You jump out into the oncoming traffic and pick up the dog. The cars quickly approach as horns and screeching tires flood your ears. You run back to the alley right as a car narrowly misses you.
"Oh my god! You saved her!" Lisa screams. She embraces you. You two lock eyes and kiss. You two let out a chuckle and decide to rest in the alley. Her dog falling asleep beside you.
You look back at the intersection and see some parents kneeling beside something. Their sobs can be faintly heard. As you try to get a better look, the memory ends and you return to the void.
The memory warps and turns into a small crystal. The crystal hovers as you approach it.
The crystal shimmers and Lisa can be heard giggling. As you stand near it, a faint outline of Lisa manifests. She holds out a hand with the crystal inside it. She smiles at you one last time before her apparition begins to fade.
[[Let the crystal go]]
[[Take the crystal]]You refuse to help the dog and notice the memory begin to rip apart. You look back and Lisa is no longer there. Sobbing floods your ears again. Right as a car is about to hit the dog, the dog is swapped with the child from the house.
"Matthew, look out!" you yell.
The child turns around to look at you. You close your eyes and hear the collision.
Your body flies backward. After opening your eyes, you notice the glowing door inches away from your face. //Who's Matthew?//
You feel the hooded figure's presence nearby.
[[Enter the doorway]] You step back and the apparition smiles before fading away. She lets go of the crystal and it floats off into the darkness. It shatters into a cluster of sparkles. Your body becomes more relaxed and calmed.
The void becomes brighter. A light grey tint can be seen. The darkness is pushed back once more.
The hooded figure stands in the distance. His children lay down beside him. He snarls at you.

You make an abrupt sprint as the hooded figure drops the leash. The gap closes and the children begin to cling on to your body. You shove your way past the remaining figures as their bodies burst into a thick cluster of darkness.
