Murder Mystery

You're a detective and you've just received news on your radio about a murder in your area. You are sent there to investigate what happened and who committed the crime. [[You entered the house]]

The house stank of a metallic smell that stung your nostils and lingered at the back of your throat as you breathed. Gavin, a 30 year old male, has been brutally murdered in broad daylight. The police that are already on the scene have found (text-colour:red)[3 suspects] who were present at the house at the time of the murder. Its your job to investigate the crime scene and interrogate the suspects to gather evidence and find out who is the murderer is. All 3 suspects are stood in the hallway anxiously waiting to be questioned. The 3 suspects are: (text-colour:red)[Dean, Charlotte and Sid] (text-colour:red)[Dean], Gavin and Charlottes neighbour, was invited to the house by Gavin to have some drinks and a laugh. (text-colour:#c92a2a)[But did he want to do something more than have a laugh?] (text-colour:red)[Charlotte] is Gavins wife. She is completely distraught about the death of her husband. (text-colour:#c92a2a)[Or is this a mask to hide the guilt?] (text-colour:red)[Sid] is Charlottes brother. He wanted to have a chat to his little sister and brother in law after a long day at work. (text-colour:#c92a2a)[But did he want to do something more sinister than talk?] Any one of them could be the murderer. Who do you speak to first? [[Dean]] [[Charlotte]] [[Sid]]

Dean looks like the stereotypical friendly, elderly gentleman. Surely he wouldn't do anything like this. (text-colour:red)[However, you have been fooled before.] Dean speaks to you in a calm manner: (text-colour:blue)["Hello Detective. I can't believe whats happened to Gavin. He was such a nice bloke. Always helping out 'round the neighbourhood. God knows why someone would do such a thing? Where was I? Gavin had invited me over for a few drinks in the garden. Gavin went back inside for some more beers and thats when I heard some loud yells. I went to check if everything was alright and there was Gavin, laying on the floor in the living room covered in his own blood!"] So Gavin was well liked in the neighbourhood. He's very protective of his sister and always wants to do whats best for her. You ask Sid if you can speak with him for a moment. He stands up from the floor and begins to speak with you. (text-colour:blue)["I hope this is quick, I want to get back to looking after my sister. I can't imagine what shes going through. I was asleep in the spare bedroom at the time of the murder. I just had a long day at work and wanted to chat to Charlotte but she was out doing some shopping so I asked Gavin if it was alright for me to have a nap in the spare bedroom. So I went upstairs to have a nap and halfway through my sleep, I heard screams so I rushed downstairs and saw Gavin laying on the floor and Charlotte holding him and crying her eyes out. Before I went upstairs, the last person I saw with Gavin was Dean. He's the only one I could think of that would do this. I don't know Dean that well so I have no idea if they had a massive argument about something and this was his way of getting back at Gavin. But thats all I know, so if you don't mind detective, I would like to go back to console my sister."] Sid is very protective of his sister, maybe too much. Sid is also very quick to accuse Dean even though he has never met him before today. I had just come back from some shopping and was expecting everything to be perfectly normal until I found Gavin laying in a pool of his own blood! There! You head towards the bin and open the lid to find a mountain of beer bottles and cans alongside with a bunch of food wrappers. Whoever was in this garden must have been quite drunk. Around the two deck chairs are a bunch of beer bottles along with an empty cardboard box that was filled with beer. Maybe Gavin had invited someone over for a "couple" of drinks. You take a closer look at the bed. The bed is very tidy like no one has slept in this bed for a very long time. You approach the night stand and open up the drawer. Inside you find a note. Its been mainly about small things like whos turn it is to wash the dishes or who is doing the next shopping trip. Charlotte tells me its nothing to worry about but I think its more than that. Gavin has had a history of anger issues in the past and what if he starts to become physical. I need to put a stop to him before anything happens."] So someone has been wanting to get after Gavin for sometime. Maybe my therapist is right about me wrting down how my days have been. It seems to really keep my anger under control. Only Charlotte knows about my anger issues and I think thats for the better."] This diary belongs to Gavin! So he has had anger issues in the past. He was the love of my life! You're just plain evil!"] While at court, Charlotte is released as there is not enough evidence to arrest her. Its not me, you've got this all wrong!"] While at court, Dean is released as there isn't enough evidence to arrest him. You got the murderer wrong and the murderer is still out there.
