Welcome to Dice Towers

A fast paced automation game created in 48 hours for the GMTK 2022 Game Jam.

Basics

You're a dice manufacturer, trying to get a dozen dice into the hands of some wealthy casino-goers.

Uh oh! Nefarious playing cards are blocking the way! Blast through cards with high value dice!

Gameplay

Build mines, factories, and dice towers. Mines create plastic, factories process plastic into cubes, and dice towers dispense cubes in the form of numbered dice.

Mines

Press "1" to place a mine. Click to confirm. Mines create material for factories. The number displayed on the central rock represents how much material a mine has created.

Factories

Press "2" to place a factory. Click to confirm. Factories take material and turn it into cubes. The first number displayed is the amount of material put in. The second number is the number of cubes ready to be taken out.

Towers

Press "3" to place a tower. Click to confirm. Towers take cubes from factories and turn them into dice. The number on the die is random and represents its health. The higher the number on the die, the more cubes it takes to make. For example, a 5 die will take 5 cubes to make.

Drones

But all those mines, factories, and towers are useless if they can't move material in between them... enter drones. Drones carry material and cubes in between facilities. The more drones you have, the faster dice are created.

Cards

Cards are nefarious villains seeking to stop the dice. The number on the card is its health. For example, if a 6 card meets a 2 die, then the die will... die, and the card will become a 4. If a 3 card meets a 4 die, then the card will die, and the die will become a 1.

Phases

The last important thing to remember is that this game takes place in phases. There's a build phase, where you can place mines, factories, towers, and drones. Then there's the attack phase, where towers start dispensing dice, and cards start attacking. You can tell when each phase ends by looking at the timer in the middle of the screen.

Enjoy!

Have fun playing!
