Acting fast, you loosen your connection to your blobby ear and pop it off from the rest of your form, freeing yourself from its grasp and run away! The snake stays behind, curiously left with the chunk you left behind to eat. [[Next|T2 p3]]

You struggle, kicking off the ground to yank free, only to be yanked back by the ear you were bit on. The snake's venom spread, reaching into your head first before the rest of your body. Your struggles weaken until they came to a stop. Consciousness fades as you're swallowed whole by the snake... Once you ran away to safety, you take the moment to regrow your ear, just to find yourself grow a bit smaller when shifting your mass to make up for the ear. With such a close encounter against a real predator, you realize you need to be careful. It's vital for you not to lose too much slime. Time was of the essence... There was no way you could save them the way you are now. You need more skills and strength. Fleeing battles wasn't going to benefit you, especially if you flee after taking so much damage that you only get weaker. It's do or die trying... [[Next|Chp 1 p4]]

Seeing their confusion and fear upon getting trapped, stuck in the clutches of such a brutal man... It makes your heart sink. At the very least, none of the hunter's meals consisted of your friends. But who knows how long it'll be like that? [[Next|Chp 1 p3]]

With your newfound resolve, you resume your search for your next prey. Something small enough, but with useful abilities. In time, you comes across a decently-sized snapping turtle slowly walking by. (text-colour:red)[(-1)] You pull yourself away, and the turtle gives you a glare before resuming back on its stroll. Kicking up high off the ground, you land atop of the turtle with a thud, causing the turtle stopped in its tracks in confusion. It doesn't seem to be able to reach you like this. This chance is still yours. What to do next? Formed into shape, you bare your fangs, coming down onto the tough shell. Your teeth are able to scrape and chew through, but only a bit of it... You kick off your hind legs and thumb both down as hard as you can at the shell! ...Not much of an effect, nor any signs of pain from the turtle. You try kicking at the shell some more, but it all does nothing. Coming on in to the turtle's side, you ready your fangs for a chomp at one of the legs, successfully penetrating the scales to sink them in. The turtle screeches in a yelp of pain, popping its head out and glares back, lifting its leg with you still clinging on and pins you under it. The turtle repositions and readies to chomp at you. You can't wiggle out of that heavy pin or detach anything without losing too much mass. Force is your only option! The moment your ears were torn, your body tries to redestribute the lost mass, but in doin so, your body shrunk, and became too weak to withstand the turtle's weight that your body (text-colour:red)[''SPLATTERS''] beneath the leg. Just your head remained, only to stare into the gaping maw of the turtle as it (text-colour:red)[''CHOMPS''] your head clean off the puddle of mush that was your body. Hopping back, you get out of the turtle's reach when it snaps at you, but the turtle presses on with its attack, going after you. You hop back again and again, but the chase just continues. You can't lose this turtle as long as its attention stays on you. You might need to try something else to get out of its line of view. With enough force, you knock the turtle right back up and roll out. The turtle shell was back up on its back, stuck. Seems there's just one place left for you to attack... Growing out your fangs, you come down at the belly shell, piercing through it and cracking it open. You chew away, soon getting right to the flesh below that led to the turtle's heart. It's a slow and painful process for the poor turtle, but it was your prey now. You enjoy your first successful feast. [[Continue|B1 p9]]
