Five of Wands

Five creatures spin and tumble with staffs. Their long bodies are like weasels. They're in some complicated choreography. It looks more like dancing or fighting. They are coming from every edge of the card, so it's almost as if some of them are either flying or hanging from something. It's pretty chaotic.

Traditional Meaning: Play fighting, competition and struggle. Possibly strife in the struggle for fame and fortune. Or maybe just the breaking of complacency.

Modern Meaning: Grapefruit squirting in your eye.

Six of Wands

A cloaked critter rides atop another floating critter. The rider carries a staff decorated in a garland of flowers. There are also five more staffs dancing in the air behind, also entwined in garland. Everything is floating. This could be a celebration or parade.

Traditional Meaning: Success and admiration. Possibly celebrating or delivering great news.

Modern Meaning: Winning the big stuffed animal.

Seven of Wands

A bunny critter defends itself with a staff against six other staff-wielding attackers. We can't see the attackers, but we can see their staffs threatening the bunny. Oh no!

Traditional Meaning: Succesfull defense. Strife. Unseen threats, possibly imaginary.

Modern Meaning: Playing tag in the dark.

Eight of Wands

A cat critter hangs from the top of the card. It appears to have dropped eight staffs which are in the act of tumbling to the ground. The critter may have dropped the staffs on purpose or by accident.

Traditional Meaning: Transition, new possibilities. The situation cannot last. Swift activity or change, probably good.

Nine of Wands

A cloaked critter holds a staff. It stands against a wall of eight other staffs. It is a little hunched. Perhaps it is old or perhaps it has been injured by attacks. It appears to be defending a position. But it also looks relaxed.

Traditional Meaning: Strength against opposition. Waiting.

Modern Meaning: Weird smells with no explanation.

Ten of Wands

A critter with either spiky fur or spines like a porcupine is hunched over under a heavy load of ten large sticks. It is clearly pressing forward with great effort.

Traditional Meaning: Any sort of struggle or difficult effort. May be heroic or unheroic. May be successful or doomed to failure. This card can be contradictory.

Modern Meaning: Moving the furniture again.

Page of Wands

A furry critter in a fancy medieval costume holds a single tall staff wrapped in a garland. It looks up as it holds the staff. It has a cape and a single feather in its cap. Queen of Wands

A pleased looking cat critter in a flowing dress or robe holds a tall staff which is either decorated with or is growing flowering vines. She has a crown of flowers. She sits upright but relaxed on her throne. The throne is surrounded by thick flowers. In the background is a complex arrangement of vines and leaves.

Traditional Meaning: The queen of feeling. Making a friendly home somewhere. Loving and honorable.

Modern Meaning: Warm cookies.

King of Wands

A lizard king, possibly a salamander, sits on a throne. The king is spitting out a little tongue of flame! He holds a staff upright in front of him. The back of his throne has a relief image of a wood fire. His clothing is appropriately fancy. He wears a little crown, probably of gold. The landscape looks fairly barren, but there are mountains or hills in the background and there are plants that seem appropriate to a desert around his throne.

Traditional Meaning: Potential power, comfortable and anticipating. Associated with fire.

Modern Meaning: Making a new lizard friend at lunchtime.

Ace of Cups

A little bird. A bird on a cup. Well, the cup is really more of a jeweled chalice. It's just sitting there.

Traditional Meaning: Happiness and home. Plenty. A search or beginning. A seed that needs planting or has been planted.

Modern Meaning: Maybe it's time for a bath?

Two of Cups

A pair of well-dressed cat-like critters face each other. They are holding cups. They appear to be in a peaceful and shady place. There are vines and leaves and flowers above and behind them. This looks like a good meeting.

Traditional Meaning: Celebrating or committing to each other. Attraction.

Modern Meaning: That best song.

Three of Cups

Three robed kitty creatures hold cups and look up towards some sort of floating orb. Actually, the creatures are floating for that matter. They are definitely pleased to be together and to be doing whatever it is they are doing.

Traditional Meaning: Prosperity, friendship. Plenty, perfection, merriment. Healing.

Modern Meaning: Being invited to the best coven.

Four of Cups

Ten of Cups

Two bear-like creatures in very long costumes swirl around each other in some sort of dance or magical flight. It is hard to say if they are actually long like eels or if it's just the clothing. Above are ten cups floating in the air. Rays of light seem to shine up from below. A cat with a long tail sits on the ground and watches happily. This looks like a happy scene, perhaps in a play or show.

Traditional Meaning: Family, joy, faithfulness.

Modern Meaning: Tent camping.

A creature with a fairly flat, rodent-like head and very fancy ruffled coat and shirt rides a bear-shaped creature with a long, curled tail. The fancy rodent is holding a cup out in front, either to drink from it or like a compass to guide the way. The bear-shaped mount's feet appear to be floating off the ground. So maybe it is hovering. There are hills and a little house in the background.

Traditional Meaning: Messenger. A message from the unconscious mind. A proposition or invitation.

Queen of Cups

The queen has a crown and a nice set of whiskers. Probably some sort of aquatic mammal. She sits in a very fancy throne that looks like the inside of a huge sea shell. She holds up a cup containing what appears to be an egg. She's on a beach and her feet are close to the water.

Traditional Meaning: Waiting patiently for something to hatch. Having vision, success. Intelligence.

King of Cups

A kitty king sits in a shell-like throne. He is smiling and holding a cup. From his other side, a fish has jumped out of the water and is crossing his lap. Will it land in the cup? The throne is completely surrounded by water and there is no land in sight.

Traditional Meaning: Intelligence, but possibly somewhat disconnected from reality. Spiritual mastery. Law, divinity, art.

Ace of Pentacles

A huge pentacle emerges from a bank of clouds. A sun is rising or setting behind a dark coniferous forest. Rays of light shine up from the sun and there are some birds flying high in the sky.

Traditional Meaning: Physical like body and health. Or sometimes money and wealth. Contentment, happiness. Intelligence.

Modern Meaning: Solving hard math problems with ease, for money.

Two of Pentacles

A long kitty creature entwined in rope or vines emerges from the upper side of the card to embrace a pair of pentacles which seem to be floating up from below where they might be pulling against strings like lighter-than-air balloons. In the background is a rippling ocean with two sailing ships.

Traditional Meaning: Happiness in the face of adversity. Frugality. Dance. Messages.

Three of Pentacles

Two cloaked critters which are definitely mammals but otherwise not identifiable beyond having round heads and round ears are watching a craftsperson with more rodent-like features who is holding a mallet and chisel and looking up at a trio of pentacles on a wall. There's a door and windows on that wall, so the pentacles seem to be a stone carving inside a building. There is also a table or bench in front of the craftsperson which appears to have some paper on it and maybe something for measuring or drawing, but it's hard to say.

Traditional Meaning: Creative work being done as a job. Nobility, renown, glory.

Modern Meaning: Cooking with high quality knives.

Four of Pentacles

A bear-like creature in a warm-looking coat holds a pentacle. Two more pentacles adorn the coat. The weirdest pentacle sits foolishly large on a crown on the bear's head. A path leads over some rolling hills to a city or town.

Traditional Meaning: Miser. Foolishly holding on to money or inheritance. Held back by possessions.

Seven of Pentacles

A pleasantly satisfied looking bear holds a hoe and stands in a lush garden. Before it is a tall bush on which seven pentacles seem to have grown. Vines and leaves surround the scene. It is a happy scene of peaceful plenty.

Traditional Meaning: Profit, reward, welcome rest. Alternatively, business and quarrel if you're into that instead.

Modern Meaning: A good supply of paper towels.

Eight of Pentacles

A crafty bunny works with a hammer and chisel on a pentacle. The bunny and the work sit on a traditional low "Roman-style" work bench. Above in the rafters hang seven more pentacles, presumably the completed work to which the eighth will soon be added. Along the back is a tool shelf.

The Magician

The Empress

A bovine empress wears an ornate dress and sits in an ornate padded and carven seat. She holds a staff entwined with a vine or wire and topped with what might be a flowering orb or egg. In the background, a waterfall flows spills down from a river completely enclosed in thick plants.

The Emperor

Two love birds cuddle on a branch. Thin branches with a few freshly sprouted leaves border the card. A bright sun shines rays outward into the sky.

The Chariot

A bear creature with a hat with a star on it drives a chariot pulled by two goats. One goat has light fur and the other has dark fur. The goats and chariot are flying far above the snowy landscape. Fresh snow is falling.

Traditional Meaning: Confidence and preparedness. Travel. Victory. War.

Modern Meaning: Please rewind the VHS tape.

Strength

A dark bear creature with glowing eyes and fangs and a hooded cloak with a diamond pattern rests a paw on the back of a fanged creature which might be a dog or cat beast.
