'Mornin' Nora, How are you doing today?'
Nora: "Just fine Captain! How was your rest?"
[[I slept well. Thank you for asking.]]
[[Well, these cots will never beat a bedspread.]]
Bill: "Top of the mornin' Captain. Glad to see you haven't croaked yet."
[[Don't you know, I'll never die.]]
[[If it isn't Bill, my favorite Jackass]]Nora: "Of course, Captain. Maybe when we get to Havana we can scrounge up enough to get you a room."
[[Not important, I sleep on my ship.]]
Speaking of scrounging, [[did you look into what I asked?]]Nora: "Honorable as ever Cap."
[[Greet Black Bill, your Quartermaster]] Nora: "In fact, I did. After looking at some maps, I discovered a small Naval port that's hardly even guarded. Inside there are stores of gold items supposedly to be taken back to the mainland for his majesty."
[[What's the take?]]
Nora: "Of course, Captain."
So, Nora, [[did you look into what I asked?]]
[[Greet Black Bill, your Quartermaster]] Nora: "Captain, we are talking about retirement. Not just for you, or me, but the entire crew!"
[[Oh my, perhaps we should prepare. ]]Nora: "That's what I'm thinking. At our next stop, I'll take the funds I need from Bill so we can outfit our crew properly."
[[Proceed with the raid.]]
[[Greet Black Bill, your Quartermaster]] 2 Days later:
The bright moon shines down upon the calm tropical waters.
Your ship cleaves through the water as it sails towards a fortified port.
To your right, Nora sharpens her sword. She looks up to you beaming with confidence.
To your left, Bill loads his rifle with gunpowerder, keeping an uneasy look on his face.
[[Compliment Nora]]
[[Reassure Bill]]
<audio autoplay>
<source src="Assets/woodenship.mp3"></audio>Bill: "Present and accounted for, good to see you haven't changed."
So, [[how are we on resources?]]Bill: "Wasn't it Hubris who killed that one emperor?"
[[He just didn't have a Black Bill in his corner.]]
[[He simply didn't have what it took to lead.]]Bill: "I appreciate the flattery Captain."
Now, let's get down to business, [[how are we on resources?]]
Bill: "A fair observation, you know I'll never betray you cap."
[[Much appreciated.]]
[[Greet Elnora Neale, your First Mate.]] Bill:"We are low on everything. Food, Water, Gunpowder. Not to mention we don't have the money to buy those things."
(if:(history: where its name contains "What do you think about Nora's Plan?")'s length is 1)[[Well, her raid would get us the money to buy those things, and more, apparently.]]
[[Did you have something in mind?]]Bill: "So, was there something on your mind, Captain?"
[[how are we on resources?]]
(if:(history: where its name contains "Oh my, perhaps we should prepare. ")'s length is 1)[[What do you think about Nora's plan?]]Bill: "It's foolhardy, that's for sure."
[[Why's that?->how are we on resources?]]Bill: "Oh, I sure did. You'll get a kick out of this. Remember our old rivals, El Perros del Laguna? Well, apparently their captain died, and now their ship is only being ran with a skeleton crew with all their loot still on board. I say we hold them up, take their resources, and maybe even their crew."
[[How do you plan on finding them?]]Bill: "Well, we don't exactly have the resources to mount such an offensive now do we?"
[[Proceed with the raid.]]
[[Did you have something in mind?]] Bill: "Now you're asking the real questions. Polly here has been tracking them."
Polly the parrot repeats what Bill says.
Bill: "Apparently, they are regulars to Laguna del Sol. They dock there every three days."
[[Take on El Perros del Laguna]]
[[Greet Elnora Neale, your First Mate.]] The bright carribean sun beams down upon your ship, with your crew working hard. After a few days travel, your ship arrives at the entrance to Laguna Del Sol, a small cove town that is a known trading post. You drop anchor at the entrance and patiently wait for your prey to leave town.
...
Nora: "Ughh, I'm getting antsy here. "
Bill: "Just be patient lass, our time will come."
Nora: "Who are you calling lass?"
[[Both of you calm down.]]
(if:(history: where its name contains "Oh my, perhaps we should prepare. ")'s length is 1)[[Nora, cool it.]]'This was a fine plan you hatched! I'm honored to call you my first mate.'
Nora: "It feels good to be appreaciated. Thanks much Cap."
Bill stands and walks off the top deck.
Bill: "It might as well be suicide..." he says.
[[Continue with Nora's plan.]]
[[Follow Bill, delaying the plan.]]
'Fear not, with you by ourside this victory is assured. You're my Quartermaster for a reason.'
Bill looks back at you and nods.
Bill: "I'm not too sure about this Captain."
'Don't worry, with you by our side, I am confident in our victory.'
Bill: "Understood Captain."
[[Launch Raid.]] You hold steadfast, already resolute in your decision.
'Nora, prepare for landfall. The raid is nigh.'
[[Launch Raid.]]You chase after bill, leaving the wheel for Nora to command.
Nora: "Captain, where are you off too before our moment of triumph?"
[[I'm getting Bill, he needs to be at our side for this.]]
Cannon Fire rains around your ship as you close the distance to the fort. Your crew fires volleys of cannonballs back, chipping away at the fort's defenses. After clever maneuvering on your part, the cannonfire stops, and you're able to approach the port. Your crew cheers and boards the port, slaying the naval officers that stand in your way.
With Nora at your side, you storm the main building in search of the treasury. After searching room after room, you are greeted to a store room filled with gold pieces and many trinkets. You order your raiding party to secure the building while you and Nora begin to organize your riches.
As you are grabbing chalices and jewels you have never even seen before, Nora suddenly shrieks. You quickly turn, drawing your pistol, only to see a Naval officer holding a sword to Nora's neck.
[[Reason with the Officer.]]
[[Shoot at his exposed leg.]]
[[Drop your weapon.]]Nora: "I understand, Captain."
You follow Bill below deck. As he takes a seat on a barrel.

[[Bill, we need you above deck.]]
[[Something on your mind Bill?]]

Bill: "Captain, I respect you more than I've anybody else in my life. It just doesn't matter."
'I need you by my side Bill.'
Bill: "Certainly doesn't feel like it most of the time. Especially when you got Nora at your side instead."
'Bill... this is just-'
Bill: "Ah, nope. I don't wanna hear it. You can go back up now."
[[Return to the wheel.]]Bill: "There sure is. You didn't even think to consult me about this. I may not be your firstmate, but I've been with you since you yourself were a firstmate. I feel like I should get at least some kind of input in what we do, even as quartermaster."
[[So what do you think about the raid?]]
[[Well do you have some kind of plan?]]You head back upstairs alongside Nora. The twilight moon shines above the calm waters as the sea breeze caresses your face once again.
<center>
<img src="Assets/AboveDeck.jpeg">
Nora: "So, no Bill?"
[[He's not feeling well.]]
[[We'll have to do this without him.]]Nora: "Well, hopefully we can get him a feast after we steal this huge meal ticket."
[[Launch Raid.]] Nora: "Don't worry Captain, I'm sure it was nothing you did."
[[Launch Raid.]] Bill: "Well for starters, I think it's a little rash, foolish even. Picking a fight with the navy only ends with our necks hung. Especially with the way Nora wants to handle things. She insists on exploding the doors open and walking in like we own the place. That only ends in bloodshed and lives needlessly lost. Think about what's best for your crew, Captain, not your treasure horde."
[[Well do you have some kind of plan?]]
Bill: "Well, I suppose if you are deadset about it, I think we can steal what we need quietly with a small team and a life boat. It minimizes risk, and even the likelihood we would be recognized by the navy."
[[That could work, brilliant idea.]]
[[I prefer Nora's plan.]]Bill: "So be it. You're the captain afterall, and I can't stop you. However, don't count on me throwing my life away just to make you some money."
[[Return to the wheel.]]Bill: "Trust me Cap, I'm all for taking the Royal Navy down a peg, however I have a crew to look after, just as you do. Their interests come first, and while money may be what they signed on for, it's fruitless if they don't have a life to spend it with."
[[Inform the crew of the new plan.]]You return to the top deck and halt the immidiate progress of the plan.
<center>
<img src="Assets/AboveDeck.jpeg">
You bring the ship to a fullstop a ways off of the shore of the target fortress and gather the crew. You and Bill detail the plan to the entire crew, which they seem more excited about then before. Nora appears slighted but nods in agreement.
[[Launch Stealth Raid.]]A small life boat approaches the massive fortress under the cover of night. The fortress is massive, however the size of the walls led the navy to believe it is impenetrable. Nora, Bill and you approach the side grate as your sailors tie up the boat. Bill asks for your assistance as you both lift the grate off of the aqueduct. The three of you enter the sewer system and make your way to the bathhouse. As you climb up from the inside, you stealthily neutralize the guards in the bathhouse.
Bill: "Well Cap, from here it's your call. We could either dress like them, or just be quick and quiet."

Nora and Bill in Unison: "Apologies Captain."
You continue to wait outside the cove. After several hours, El Perros' ship sails out of the cove. Your ship unfurls it's sails and gives chase. You harpoon the ship with your front harpoons and slow it down to pull it to the side.
Guns fire at your ship. You dodge and weave behind your wheel as your crew prepares to board. They swing across and setup the plank. Their smaller crew is swiftly overwhelmed and you line up the Perros on their deck.
You approach the line and stare at their captain.
Nora: "Alright Cap, just say the word and we can be on our way."
Bill: "Or we could take them in as apart of our crew. You can never have too many hands."
Nora: "A larger crew means more mouths to feed and we aren't exactly overflowing with space on our ship."
Bill: "We could use their ship to expand our fleet."
Nora: "How exactly do we assure their alliegiance?"
Bill: "People will do many things to ensure they do not die."
Nora: "Well Cap?
[[Scuttle the ship.]]
[[Assimilate the Los Perros into your crew]]Nora: "Listen, why are we here Cap? Do we even know that they have valuable loot?"
Bill: "Well of course they do. You think me as some kind of joke?"
Nora: "Of course not, but the whole plan here is conditional. What if they never even leave the cove?"
Bill: "Captain, settle this right now would ya?"
[[Leave and follow Nora's plan]]
[[Both of you calm down.]]
You are the infamous pirate captain of the //Devil's Kiss//, a large vessel that has terrorized the carribean for years. As of late, the age of law and order is upon the world, and piracy has become less and less of a safe occupation. Even still, you are responsible for your crew, and their well being. In this new age of life on the high seas, how will you react? With valor? Or treachery.
Light shines through the slits of the captain's cabin, waking you from your slumber. The ship rocks back and forth as your crew sings on the deck. With no hope of getting any sleep, you freshen up before heading out into the bright tropical sun.
Your crew greets your arrival with cheers and hollers. You take your position at the helm as your firstmate and quartermaster stand at your side.

'Believe me when I say I would hate for it to get bloody.'
Officer: "Yeah, right. You say that after you stormed my home, and killed all of my comrades"
'Just put the blade down. I put down my weapon.'
Nora: "Cap, are you crazy? I'm gonna die here."
'Surely you would rather take me instead.'
Officer: "Oh Yeah, why's that?"
[[Well, I am the Captain afterall. I am very clearly worth more.]]'Listen mate, it doesn't have to go down like this.'
Officer: "Surely it does. After all, it's my only way of living in this situation. Now just let me walk out of here."
'Now you know I can't do that.'
Officer: "If you don't she gets it!"
Nora: "Please, Cap!"
[[Offer him a spot amongst your crew.]]
[[Shoot at his exposed leg.]]
[[Drop your weapon.]] You fire a well placed shot into the Officer's leg. He recoils backwards in pain, allowing Nora to beat him and take his weapon. She slays him without hesitation. She looks at you with a smile. Nora approaches you, and hugs you.
Nora: "Thanks Cap, I knew you wouldn't let me down."
[[I'd do the same for any of my crew.]]
[[Of course, you mean more to me than anybody else.]]'How about you come with us. We could still make a fine pirate outta you yet, son.'
Officer: "I'll never join the likes of you. My grandmother raised me better than this uncivilized lifestyle you lead."
[[Shoot his head.]]
[[Shoot at his exposed leg.]] Out of fury, you quickly aim your pistol at his head, firing a rageful shot. His body collapses lifeless to the floor, as does Nora's. You rush to her side, pleading for her to still draw breath, however her eyes are empty.
You clutch her in your arms, and walk back to your ship. The crew reports to you a completely liberated fortress, yet not without a heavy toll. As you board your ship, Bill looks at you solemnly. Your crew packs up the hold with the large haul, and you set out to sea.
Everyone remains silent. No shanties, no jokes, just silence. You offer Nora a burial at sea, and honor your firstmate and her sacrifice.
<center>
The End. Nora let's go and nods.
Nora: Of course, Cap. Well, I suppose we should get packing then.
[[Let's go.]] Nora leans her forehead into yours.
Nora: "Truly, I'm sure. What would you do without me."
You can't help but smile back.
Nora: "So, I guess we should pack up and be on our way then?"
[[Let's go.]]The crew reports to you a completely liberated fortress, yet not without a toll. You've lost many great sailors, but their memories will live on with you. As you board your ship, Bill nods and smiles at you.
Bill: "Even the smartest man in the crew can be wrong sometimes. Nice work, Cap."
Your crew packs up the hold with the large haul, and you set out to sea. Eventually you make it to Havana, where you use your newly found riches to party long into the night.
<center>
The End.
Nora: "Hey! What am I, chopped liver?"
You glare at Nora. She looks to the side.
'Imagine what bringing in a notorious captian like me would do for you?'
Officer: "I could very well captain a ship of my very own."
'Exactly. Now let her go, and take me instead.'
Officer: "No, no, no. This must be some kind of trick.
'How could I convince you otherwise?'
Officer: "Walk away from your pistol."
You shuffle away from your pistol as the officer shuffles towards it. He drops his sword for it and puts it at her head.
Officer: "Now tell her not to do anything funny."
[[Tell Nora not to attack.]]
[[Tackle him.]]'Nora, it'll be fine. Just walk to the side and let him take me.'
Nora grimmaces. The officer shoves her to the side and grabs you around the neck at gunpoint. Nora looks up at you, before you get shoved out the door.
He slowly walks towards the port still holding you at gunpoint. Eventually, some of your sailors approach and he becomes surrounded.
Officer: "Don't any of you step any closer. Or, or... Or your captain gets it.
The pistol stays firmly pressed against your temple. The sailors hesitate and look at each other.
A crack is heard in the distance. Moments later something whizzes past your head and blood splatters all over your face. You slowly open your eyes as the officer falls lifeless to the floor. Your crew rushes to you rejoicing in your vitality. You glance over at your ship, only to see a bright glint in the distance vanish.
[[...->Bill saves you.]]You charge at him when he doesn't expect it. You tackle them both to the ground as a loud bang is heard alongside the crash of metal coins. You open your eyes to find the Officer dead. Nora has a bullet wound in her stomach and is bleeding. You look down at you own stomach only to see that you have been impaled by a three pointed gold candlestick.
A rush of sailors come enter the gory scene after the commotion. Naturally, they all rush to you first, and begin to lift you out of the mound of treasure.
[[Thank them.]]
[[Order them to go for Nora first.]]'Th..Thank you.'
You cough up large amounts of blood.
You are carried up to the ship and laid out on a table. You see the surgeon pour alcohol on his hands.
Surgeon: "Fear not Captain, you are not dying today."
Everything fades black.
[[...->Save Yourself]]'No, no. Tend to Nora's wounds first.'
Sailor: "But, Captain, you are in danger."
'You ca... can bri-'
You cough up large amounts of blood.
'Bring me after, hurry, go.'
The sailors take Nora back to the ship and are quickly back for you. They lift you up, candlestick and all, and walk you back to ship. You hear the crashing of waves as everything fades black.
[[... ->Save Nora]]
You slowly open your eyes to Nora snoozing at your bed side. You grunt and begin to sit up. She snaps awake and stands up.
<center>
<img src="Assets/BelowDeck.jpeg">
Nora: "Woah, there. Easy tiger. You've been out for a while."
'How long?'
Nora: "Couple days."
'Couple of days? Is everyone alright?'
Nora: "Yeah, everyone is just fine, thanks to you."
'How so?'
Nora: "Well you tackled that bastard, and then made sure the crew took me first. The surgeon said if I had been brought back even 3 minutes later, I wouldn't have made it due to blood loss."
'I was just looking out for my crew. They always come first.'
Nora: "Even still, you very well could have died."
You shift around and feel a prodding sensation in your back.
[[What's in my stomach?]]You wake up with Bill at your bedside, as he's counting coins. As you open your eyes he looks up at you.
<center>
<img src="Assets/BelowDeck.jpeg">
Bill: "Oh my god, Captain, you're awake! I knew you were a hard bastard.
'aye, It'll take alot more than some punk and a candlestick to take me out.'
Bill: "Speaking of the candlestick..."
'What about it?'
Bill: "Well, Surg wasn't exactly sure if he'd be able to remove it without draining you like a leech, so don't be too suprised if you end up shittin' gold."
You feel around your stomach where small pieces of the candle stick can still be felt sticking out.
[[Where's Nora?]]Nora: "That would be the candlestick."
'What?'
Nora: "Well, Surg said he wasn't sure if pulling it out would have killed you. So instead, he hacked off what he could and left the rest inside. You'll heal over it, just gotta give it time."
'What the f--'
Nora: "On the brightside you'll always have solid gold with ya."
You can't help but smile.
'And the haul?'
Nora: "Total success."
You lie back down, exhausted from even being awake.
After a few more nights, you and the crew land at Havana, where you are celebrate your costly victory.
<center>
The End. Bill sighs.
Bill: "Cap, she didn't make it."
'What?'
After we got you on board, the boys rushed back to get her, but by the time we brought her back...
'She bled out...'
Bill nods.
You slam the table to your side, recoiling in pain from your injury.
Bill: "Cap, you can't blame yourself. A choice like that is impossible to make, especially when you are strung up like a dining room center piece. She would have wanted you to live on."
You lie back down, guilt ridden at the decision to leave Nora behind.
After several more days, you give Nora a burial at sea to honor her sacrifice. Eventually, You and your new first mate, Black Bill, enter Havana, enjoying the spoils, while keeping Nora in memory.
<center>
The End. You encounter Nora as you are returning to the storeroom.
Nora: "Oh my goodness, Captain I thought something happened to you when I heard the shot ring out."
She hugs you as she trembles.
'Don't you worry, I told you everything was going to be fine.'
Nora: "Yeah but how'd you do it?"
'Let's just say I owe somebody.'
[[Return to the ship]]You and the rest of your crew load your treasures into the ship's hold. Once on board, the ship sets sail towards Havana. You head downstairs to find Bill carving a small totem.
'Thank you Bill. I know you weren't a fan of this move to begin with, but I appreciate you supporting me regardless.'
Bill sighs.
Bill: "Listen, Cap. I may not agree with everything you say, but I have a feeling nobody could ever do that without being a mindless lapdog, which I am not. However, you saved me from certain death once upon a time. So no matter what, I will always have your back.
You and Bill shake hands and smile at each other.
After a few days you make it to Havana, where you spend your spoils celebrating your victory.
<center>
The End. Nora vouches to stay back and keep the bathhouse secure, that way they have a way to exfiltrate the fortress.
You decide to leave the outfits behind, Bill uses deductive reasoning to locate the storeroom. Eventually, you see him stop at a room. He peaks through the key hole and turns to you.
Bill: "Jackpot Captain, work your magic."
You approach the door and pick the lock.
After a quick moment you unlock the door and make it inside.
[[...->Storeroom]]Nora vouches to stay back and keep the bathhouse secure, that way they have a way to exfiltrate the fortress.
You and Bill put on the clothes of the two guards that were in the bathhouse. You two leave and patrol the compound until you find a a higher rank officer. Bill walks up to him, striking up a conversation.
Bill: "Oh, hello sir, I've been meaning to look for you."
Officer: "What is it you need?"
Bill: "Well you see, I was only paid 14 reales last week and not my full 20.
Bill pulls out his small pieces of silver and shows them to the officer.
Officer: "Right. What's your name again?"
Bill: "Well, everyone just calls me Bill."
Officer: "Hmm. I see. You must be one of the bloody new guys. Alright, follow me."
[[...->Storeroom Con]]
You and Bill grab the items that look the lightest but also the most valuable. You fill the bags you brought and are ready to leave. You sneak through the compound, carefully eliminating the guards in the compound that stand in your way. Eventually, you make it back to the bathhouse unharmed, where a patient Nora congratulates the two of you.
[[Escape]]The three of you sneak back through the aqueduct back to the lifeboat where you sailors are waiting. You quickly embark and set off back towards the ship. Nora looks through the bags.
Nora: "Nice haul boys! It's not nearly as much as we would have made had we gone with the original plan, but it'll keep us fed for a while.
Bill: "More importantly, we took no casualties, and nobody even knows they were hit."
Alarm bells begin to ring from the compound as the lifeboat approaches the ship.
Bill: "Well until now that is."
'Nice work nonetheless mates.'
The crew embarks on the ship where you take the wheel. You let the sails fly and maneuver skillfully to evade the cannonfire of the fortress. After a few days travel you arrive in Havana to celebrate a flawless victory over the Navy.
<center>
The End. The three of you approach the storeroom where the Officer unlocks the door and steps in. You both follow.
Bill closes the door while you quickly grab hold of the Officers mouth and silently kill him.
Bill nods at you and you both get to work filling the bags, quickly changing outfits, keeping the officer clothes as they are a harder commodity to obtain.
'So, where did you learn the salary of Navy recruits.'
Bill: "I had always wanted to be one growin' up. Wanted to do my country proud. Signed up and was shipped out, only to be told I wasn't in the right mental state."
'You don't seem crazy to me?'
Bill: "Apparently, they thought me capable of bloody murder, like some kind of lunatic."
'As long as you kill them and not me, you can be as loony as you like.'
Bill: "Not funny."
'It kind of is.'
You fill the bags you brought and are ready to leave. You sneak through the fortress carefully eliminating the guards in the compound that stand in your way. Eventually, you make it back to the bathhouse unharmed, where a patient Nora congratulates the two of you.
[[Escape]]'Look, Nora's right, the raid on the Navy fortress does have a higher yield.'
Bill: "This is a load of bollocks.
'Bill, we could be waiting for a while, or we could get results immidiately.'
Bill groans and walks to the rail.
[[Proceed with the raid.]] You agree with Nora. You give orders to kill the rest of the Perros' crew. Your crew then purges any supplies and treasure they had on board and sink the ship. Nora is unsatisfied at the total haul of the battle. Bill is unsatisfied at your bloodthirsty decision. You make it to Havana with supplies in tact. There wasn't much loot on board their ship, so you brought the necessities and spent an uneventful night aboard your ship.
<center>
The End. You extend an offer to the Perros' sailors to join yuour crew. Many are grateful at the chance. The ones who decline forfeit their lives. You split your whole crew into two, splitting them between your main ship and newly acquired vessel. You put Bill in charge of the second one. Nora is understanding of your decision to increase the fleet size, as a bigger fleet means bigger potential, however she disagrees that she shouldn't captain the second ship. You convince her to take it as a compliment, saying how integral she is to your ship. While the haul wasn't the largest, it was enough to celebrate comfortably. You and your newly formed fleet sail to Havana, where the entire crew celebrates the unification of two unlikely pirate crews.
<center>
The End.
