65 million years ago, dinosaurs survived extinction by hiding in volcanoes. It is the beginning of the 22nd century. Following the collapse of society due to a dinosaur invasion, humans are now forced to work in volcanoes and cities to heat up the Earth to turn it into a inhabitable environment for the dinosaurs. It is a week after the first victory of the resistance, most of the people in the camp is still celebrating like they had never been shrouded in the horror of being ruled by dinosaurs. However, there are some people holding their composure and planning about the future. Since dinosaurs have evolved over millions of years, with a greater life span than humans, knowledge and technology accumulated from all this time, they are able to provide advanced technology and knowledge to humans, and use to help humans to develop as a cover to secretly work together with the elites in human society for centuries. Those are the reasons that they can take over the world all of a sudden. Right after they gained control, society is divided into volcanoes and some remaining cities while being highly centralized in these locations under hierarchical rule. All connections between cities were cut off, and each area is locked down. Although humans won the very first victory against dinosaurs, the impacts are still around: sea levels rising, environments changing, volcanoes are polluted and difficult to live around, etc. As the humans aspect, they are allowed to live in cities somewhat normally, but with restricted freedoms and worse living conditions.
