The door closes behind you. It has [[begun]]. 24 hours in the void. Smart. It will be good to get used to the area. You decide to go [[left]] or [[right]]?Smart. The surroundings aren't going anywhere, but your sanity might. The piercing silence allows for no such luxuries as sleep. Give it a [[few more minutes]] or [[check the surroundings]]?You first decide to [[check the surroundings]] or [[go to sleep]].... ... Sleep eludes you still... You could [[check the surroundings]] or [[go at it again]].... All attempts at sleep seem futile... You could [[try one last time]] or [[check the surroundings]].... ... ... You come to your senses. You feel rested but a bit sore. You could [[check the surroundings]] or [[stretch out]]. You perform all the stretches you can think of. And feel ready to take on the world. But you opponent is the void for now. So you [[persist]].You follow the wall and then turn a corner. Then a sharp pain greets your shin. You discover the obstruction to be a toilet. Do you [[continue to the left]] or decide you do not want [[anymore surprises]]?You follow the wall and then turn a corner. You run straight into a cot. Do you [[continue to the right]] or [[use the bed]]?How odd. It doesn't seem to be screwed in completely. You could try to [[climb in]] or [[stretch]] again? The vent is cold to the touch, but large enough to climb through. After quite a few twists and turns you see a faint light in the distance. Do you go towards [[the light]] or [[turn back around]]?You arrive at the beginning only to find the vent to be screwed firmly back into place. You could try to [[break the vent]] or return to [[the light]]. You try your darndest, but the vent holds strong. You could try again to [[break the vent]] or return to [[the light]]. There is another vent covering the would-be exit. You spy a small piece of shrapnel, and proceed to use it to unscrew the vent. ... With one final twist [[freedom is yours]].You follow the wall, turn a corner, continue, and turn another corner. You run straight into a cot. Do you make your way [[back to the entrance]] or [[use the bed]]?You sit down on the ground, and have only your mind to entertain you. You begin to [[ponder]].It is more comfortable than the ground, but not by much... ... ... You come to your senses. You feel well-rested. Do you want to [[move around]] or have you something to [[ponder]]?You turn one more corner and then you are back where you started. At least 23 hours left, [[now what?]] Do you [[move around]] or sit and [[ponder]]? You have been pondering for some time. About what you can hardly remember. And for how long is also a mystery to you. You begin to wonder if you have any [[thoughts left in you]].Or at least you thought you did. Just then you feel a tap on your shoulder. You [[turn around]].You try to think. But the deafening silence and blinding darkness creep into your mind. You [[look up]]. The wall you had been leaning against has now become a field of fire. Do you [[back away]] from the flames or try to [[blow them out]]?The fire watches you scurry back in fear, oblivious to your screams. Once you reach the other wall the fire leaves. It's parting gift a hole where you sit. And you start [[to fall]]. The flames run from the gust of wind, only to reveal an eye drawn in chalk on the wall. After what could have been a second or an eternity the eye blinks. Do you [[look away]] or [[stare into the eye]]? The void has consumed you. Return to the [[start]]?You look away. But from what? There is no eye. Just a small circular cake with a single lit candle in the middle. You [[blow it out]].You cannot bring yourself to look away. You blink, but it changes nothing. The eye is always watching [[you]]. Lights out. Return to the [[start]]?Having escaped the void, you enter the light. Return to the [[start]]?The door opens. Light streams in. When you close your eyes you see nothing but the eye. You have survived, but not unscathed. Return to the [[start]]? Do you want to [[work out]] or [[make your own music]]? Smart. You have nothing better to do, right? You do just about every exercise routine you can think of. Then you start to [[stretch]], so you do not get sore. You try to fill the void with sound, and for a time it works. Once you stop the quiet becomes all the more pronounced. Suddenly you can hear the blood flowing through your veins. Do you [[stop]] or [[press on]]?You raise your arms above your head. You feel an air vent above you. Do you stop to [[inspect it]] or continue to [[stretch]]?Yes. It is a battle that cannot be won. It is better to do other things. [[But what?]]You continue to fill the void, undeterred. For hours, you try. Until, suddenly, you have [[no more sound]] to make. The void has won. You tried to fill the void. Instead the void filled you. And as the door opens, and you leave. You bring the void with you. Return to the [[start]]?You concentrate and try to find any [[thoughts left in you]].Through sheer determination you make yourself immune to the void, and wait for its otherworldly grip to [[release you]]. A sound. The door opens. You have, somehow, someway, survived the void. And you walk back into the world of substance, more aware of its fullness. Return to the [[start]]? You follow the wall, turn a corner, continue, and turn another corner. Then a sharp pain greets your shin. You discover the obstruction to be a toilet. Do you make your way [[back to the entrance]], or decide you do not want [[anymore surprises]]? Void [[start]]?
