People come and go. You watch them as they cross you. Each full of memories, thoughts and hopes. They come, they go, they [[forget]]. Such is the cycle of [[my purpose.]]Lethe, the river of forgetfulness, one of the five rivers of the Greek underworld. I govern over the lives of those who come to me. Those who wish to [[forget]], those who are dying. The dying wash in my waters. Washing off their memories, they leave a [[husk]] of themselves.There are those that try not to forget. Maybe they have something to live for, or maybe they're scared. I always find them in the [[end]]. Then they are [[reborn]].What are goodbyes to those who will not [[remember]] them? [[the Waters]] flow on.They [[forget]] their memories, who they were, who they wanted to be. Faded beings, they leave me behind, and I'm fated to repeat this sorrowful cycle. Sometimes I see them again, they never [[remember]] me. They all forget in the [[end]].I lie here as they drink from my waters. [[The river of Lethe.]] All were required to drink the waters of the Lethe in order to forget their earthly life. I contain multitudes. [[Lives]], paths lived and unlived.Anew and without the tethers which bind them, they [[leave]] me. Forgotten, a [[husk]] of what they once were. It's sad, There's never the time for [[goodbyes]].I'm sorry.
