This room is dark and empty, except for a small gadget, floating majestically in the center of the room in a majestic beam of light, emitting regular majestic beeps. Detective Corgi gives you, the invisible reader, a look that’s kind of like “this is weird maybe we should leave” but decides to use her corgi bravery and check it out. It’s a plastic oval, with a creature at the center of the small screen. The creature looks suspiciously like… a corgi. It stares at her with dead pixel eyes.

The creature appears to want something. It’s bobbing up and down, beeping louder and louder. The beeps are starting to sound kind of like borks. There are three small buttons below the screen. Detective Corgi pushes one.

Right Button (click:'Right Button')[
The screen goes dark. It looks like the creature has gone to sleep. Suddenly the beam of light goes dark, and Detective Corgi starts feeling very sleepy. Nice soft music starts playing, like that thing in Harry Potter where they put Fluffy the three-headed dog to sleep.

Detective Corgi said goodbye to Zeepzop and Vorpaborpa, after receiving her many medals for ending their thousands of years long race war that had lost billions of lives.
Little Florblespook, with only a single zunder to her name, bowed deep before Detective Corgi and proclaimed her no longer Detective Corgi - but now, Captain Corgi, Intergalactic Defender of Justice!
But Detective Corgi smiled sadly, and shook her doggy head. She knew that the best way to encourage long-form political stability was not in hero worship, but rather, in a shared belief in powerful, ethical ideals. So she shook the medal off her head, and to the gasps of the crowd, placed it on the Plooblestone…
And the whole planet cheered.
On her rocketship home, Detective Corgi looked at her reflection in the stars, and read the small engraving on her shiny new collar: Captain Corgi, Intergalactic Defender of Justice. She smiled and licked the window as the ship touched down outside her house.
Feeling happy about her decisions and the importance of avoiding hero worship as a political ideal, Detective Corgi decided to get a celebration ice cream from Chip n’ Dips Ice Cream Shop, which you and I both know is a great way to celebrate [[the end of a Detective’s day.->IntroWalking]]

Door number two!
Behind it, there is... an exact copy of the living room which Detective Corgi was just standing in! How... creepy. A roaring fire greets Detective Corgi from the magnificent fireplace of this living room.
It was a handsome room, though tarnished with age.

Nothing out of the ordinary. Just a desk.]
Mirror(click:'Mirror')[

Window and Curtains(click:'Window and Curtains')[
The windows are shut but the curtains are moving slightly, wherever the draft is coming from, it’s not from this room. ]
[[Let's head back to the Living Room. ->Ground1.5]]As Corgi slowly made her way up the stairs, she froze mid step as her fur stood on end. She looked up and was surprised to see a pair of eyes staring back! It stood in front of a door at the top of the steps. The eyes stared at Corgi unblinkingly for an instant before gliding through the door without making a sound. Corgi reaches the top of the staircase and pauses to take a breath before she cautiously opens the door and [[enters.->Gallery]]Detective Corgi enters a gallery of paintings. The three nicest ones are placed up on a wall, and they seem to show the former owners of this house.
Look at the beard on that guy! Sometimes Detective Corgi wishes she had a beard. Then she remembers that she has fur, which is like, way better.

She then spies the tail of the ghost flitting through the door to the ballroom. [[Onward!->Ballroom]]BOOM! Detective Corgi tackled the ceiling high doors open into an empty ballroom. The impact echoed throughout the ballroom. This is a really awkward dance party Detective Corgi thought. But actually, with nobody looking, she can dance like [nobody's watching]<dance|(click:?dance)[, except for a potential ghost boy]. Suddenly this is the best dance party ever! No music means rhythm doesn't matter and all the moves work!

Detective Corgi learned the importance of living life to the fullest, unlike that ghost boy...probably. Anyways, it’s time to boogie out and [[continue the search.->PuzzleRooms1]]As the door swings slowly open, Detective Corgi notices a discernible drop in temperature, like that time she went ice skating and went out onto the ice and it was cold because ice is frozen. She can see her doggy breath, and starts to shiver. She waddles slowly forward into the room, and is greeted by an odd sight.
A large blue platform takes up most of the room, the floor of the platform looks to be made entirely of blocks of ice. A mallet is propped up against the wall. Detective Corgi thinks this looks suspiciously like a corgi-sized version of “Don’t Break the Ice,” one of the best games ever invented.
She wiggles up onto the platform, not quite sure how to proceed. The ice is dang cold on her paws. She makes a note to buy some detective corgi booties. But anyway.

Detective Corgi had just had a long and informative discussion with Dr. Katherine Moss from the University of Pennsylvania on the challenges of wide-reaching systemic change without policy reformation at a grassroots level. She had a very nice conversation and expressed her opinions on increased investments in early childhood education for women in STEM programs, which were notoriously underfunded in Detective Corgi’s district.

Detective Corgi barked happily as she stood in front of the three Lighthouse keepers. She pointed out that actually, none of the three lighthouse keepers had been neglecting the light and letting boats crash into the shore. Because no real boats had crashed into the shore at all!
Boat Crashers 3, the popular reality TV show, had been over-budget this season! So, they had been secretly sending unmanned boats made of rice paper into the nearby port in order to inflate their boat crash numbers for this season.
Detective Corgi explained that such a dangerous tactic was not only ethically ambiguous to the viewing audience about the reality of local boat crashes; but was also skirting many local boating laws and causing disruption to the local fauna with so much rice added to the harbor. After being given a several thousand dollar fine by the local police, Detective Corgi decided to help them out by fishing the rice boats out of the harbor, and ate a lot of curry all together that night!

When the dust finally settles, the mansion seems to relax itself into a house 50 years younger. Sunlight breaks through the windows and the boy picks himself up from the ground, now a human once again.
He marvels at his surroundings before smiling at Detective Corgi in thanks.

Detective Corgi desecrates the tombs for those tasty bones. Most are dusty and gross but it’s the thought that counts. She isn’t returning home with nothing after all.

Detective Corgi shakes her head but proceeds home nonetheless. She worries about paying her electricity bill for the next month. That night she updates her website with a note for all job inquiries to pay half up front first.
