About SoFi Stadium
SoFi Stadium is a sports and entertainment complex in Inglewood, California, occupying the former site of the Hollywood Park Racetrack. It is shared by the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers of the National Football League (NFL). Opened in 2020, it is the most expensive stadium ever built.
The stadium features a fixed, translucent ETFE roof designed to cover the stadium bowl and the adjacent plaza while allowing for outdoor air flow. The centerpiece is the "Infinity Screen" by Samsung, an ovular, double-sided 4K HDR video board suspended from the roof, weighing 2.2 million pounds. The stadium sits below ground level to adhere to flight path restrictions from nearby LAX.
SoFi hosted Super Bowl LVI in 2022, where the Rams won the title on their home turf. The venue is a masterpiece of engineering and design, anchoring a massive mixed-use development comprising retail, office, and residential space. It represents the future of integrated sports entertainment districts.
